Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort Introduce
For local families in the Texas Hill Country seeking a "camping near me" destination that caters to children, the Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, located at 10618 US-290, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, USA, presents a potential option. With phone numbers (830) 990-2267 and +1 830-990-2267, this resort aims to provide a family-friendly experience in the heart of Texas Wine Country. However, it's important for local users to consider the varied experiences reported by recent visitors to form an objective understanding of what this camp-resort offers.
One family described their stay as a "low key kid friendly staycation," noting that its slightly remote location provided an "organic camp feel." They appreciated the cabins, mentioning their cleanliness and upkeep, although they did suggest the need for a larger trash can in the cabins. This positive review highlights the potential for a peaceful and family-oriented experience, particularly for those seeking a break from the city within a short drive from home.
The staff at Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort received high praise from one reviewer, who found them "amazing and super friendly." The activities director was specifically commended for planning numerous engaging activities for children, such as t-shirt coloring, games, read alouds, relay races, and interactions with a Boo Boo Bear character. This suggests a focus on providing entertainment and activities for younger guests, which can be a significant draw for families looking for a kid-friendly "camping near me" option where children can stay active and engaged.
Furthermore, this positive reviewer felt that the price was "so reasonable for our experience," indicating a perceived good value for the amenities and services received. This is an important factor for local families when considering their budget for a staycation or weekend getaway.
However, not all feedback has been entirely positive. Another family who stayed for three nights with their 4-year-old expressed disappointment, stating that "there wasn't anything going on for the kids" during their visit. This stark contrast to the previous review suggests that the availability and scheduling of children's activities might vary, or that different families have different expectations regarding what constitutes engaging entertainment for young children.
This second reviewer also raised concerns about the "esthetics of the park," noting that it "did not look like a family RV park, but rather a rundown trailer park." They further commented that "most of the people there were permanent residents, so they had trash and junk everywhere," and that these residents were "not friendly at all." This paints a significantly different picture of the environment, suggesting potential issues with the overall appearance and atmosphere of the camp-resort, as well as the demeanor of some long-term occupants. This is a crucial point for local users to consider, as the aesthetic appeal and the friendliness of the community can significantly impact the overall camping experience.
The presence of a significant number of permanent residents, as mentioned in the negative review, can sometimes alter the typical vacation atmosphere of a family-oriented camp-resort. It might lead to a less transient and more established community feel, which may not align with the expectations of all short-term visitors seeking a traditional resort experience.
Given these contrasting reviews, it is essential for local users considering Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort for their "camping near me" needs to weigh these different perspectives. The positive feedback highlights the potential for a fun, kid-friendly stay with engaging activities and a friendly staff, while the negative review raises concerns about the park's aesthetics, the presence of permanent residents, and potentially inconsistent availability of children's entertainment.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of the Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, local users are encouraged to explore recent reviews on various online platforms. Additionally, contacting the resort directly at (830) 990-2267 or +1 830-990-2267 to inquire about the types of accommodations available (cabins, RV sites), the schedule of activities for children, the general environment and upkeep of the park, and any specific policies or guidelines for visitors would be beneficial. Asking about the ratio of permanent residents to short-term guests might also provide valuable insight.
Information regarding specific services and features, such as the availability of amenities like a pool, playground, laundry facilities, or Wi-Fi, was not provided in the reviews. Local users should inquire about these when contacting the resort. Similarly, no promotional information was included in the provided text. It would be prudent to ask about any current specials, discounts for local residents, or family packages that might be available.
In conclusion, Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort offers a "camping near me" option in Fredericksburg that has received mixed reviews. While some families have enjoyed a low-key, kid-friendly stay with engaging activities and a friendly staff, others have been disappointed by the park's aesthetics and a perceived lack of activities. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences and conduct further research, including contacting the resort directly, to determine if this camp-resort aligns with their family's preferences and expectations for a local getaway in the Texas Wine Country.

Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park Camp-Resort Reviews
My family and I were looking for a low key kid friendly staycation (about an hour from home) and this is exactly what we were looking for! We loved that it was located more remotely. It gave us a organic camp feel. The cabins were nice, we just wish there was a bigger trash can. We only had a bathroom trash can. Other than that everything was clean and well kept. The staff was amazing and super friendly ! We loved the activities director. She had so many things planned for our littles such as t-shirt coloring, games, read alouds, relay races, bubbles with boo boo bear ect… you could tell she loves her job!I feel like the price was so reasonable for our experience!
Apr 21, 2025 · abbigayle MorenoMy wife and I stayed 3 nights with our 4-year-old. There wasn't anything going on for the kids. Pretty disappointed at the esthetics of the park. It did not look like a family RV park, but rather a rundown trailer park. Most of the people there were permanent residents, so they had trash and junk everywhere. Residents were not friendly at all. Will not be staying there and DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Mar 06, 2025 · Albert CooperEverything was great. Close to wineries and great food in fredricksburg right down the road. Rooms were clean. Place was tidy outside. Pools were clean and splash area for kids was fun. This is a wonderful family place. Lots to see and do.
Mar 12, 2025 · Nancy EckhartWe did not stay the night, but we went during the time the ecplise happened this past summer. We had so much fun in the water area and pool area. They also have large chess, a jumpy area, two food places and a little store. We will definitely be going back. It’s a perfect place for family gatherings. We ordered their pizza, which was perfect for the kiddos. They also have great frozen alcoholic drinks for the adults and frozen slushies for the kiddos.
Dec 31, 2024 · N1RV4N4If you have kids and want to have a fun getaway that not only will the kiddos enjoy but (you are sooo close to so many wineries) this is the perfect place!!! We took our RV there and had a wonderful time. We went on a hay ride around the place, even did a scavenger hunt and my daughter loved it!Several photo ops around the park. Although we went when the water park was closed it was still so much fun.I will include that although the jumping pillow was fun - my husband lost his footing trying to get off of it and slipped when he did he fell on his butt and jammed his tail bone right on the ground - he’s hurting pretty bad.(Only thing I would say is they do have a lot of sticker burs and so trying to keep those out of the camper and out of our feet was hard. Wear your shoes!)
