The Oasis RV Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Perry, Florida area? Our platform offers a variety of options, and today we're taking a look at The Oasis RV Campground, located at 830 E Whitetail Dr, Perry, FL 32348, USA. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground presents a somewhat mixed picture, with mentions of seclusion and proximity to beaches alongside concerns about infrastructure and management.
The Environment: Secluded Location with Beach Access
One reviewer describes The Oasis RV Campground as a "good secluded location for hunting and fishing," and another notes it as "very private and secluded." This suggests that the campground is situated in a quieter, potentially more natural setting, away from more crowded tourist areas. This could be appealing to those seeking a peaceful retreat focused on outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Additionally, one review mentions that it is "close to 2 beaches" with "great sunsets," indicating a significant environmental advantage for visitors who enjoy coastal scenery and activities. Perry, Florida, is located in the Big Bend region, known for its natural coastline and access to the Gulf of Mexico, so this proximity to beaches aligns with the area's characteristics.
However, one detailed review also points out that the campground itself features "black crushed asphalt" for the parking areas. While this might provide a stable surface, it could impact the overall natural aesthetic of the camping experience. It's a practical consideration for RVs but might be less appealing for those primarily seeking a lush, green environment for tent camping (though tent camping isn't explicitly mentioned as a focus).
Services and Potential Drawbacks
Based on the reviews, the services at The Oasis RV Campground appear to have some areas needing attention. One camper highlighted an issue with the placement of electrical boxes, noting they are "far behind where the campers park," potentially requiring extra-long cords or extensions. Furthermore, these boxes are reportedly located "in the middle of your area to sit or eat outside," which could be an inconvenience for enjoying the outdoor space at the campsite.
The same detailed review also mentions an initial notification about a specific electrical box needing inspection due to potential hurricane damage, which allegedly "never happened." This raises concerns about the responsiveness to safety and maintenance issues. Additionally, the review describes problems with trash pickup, where campers ended up being the primary ones taking garbage to the dump after the regular service ended and a new company was not hired promptly. The owner's alleged loss of their dump pass further complicated this situation.
Another service-related issue raised was the lack of promised internet. Campers were reportedly told upon arrival that internet (fiber) would be available in approximately four weeks, but this turned out to be inaccurate, as the infrastructure wasn't even being laid in the area at that time. The lack of phone connection for some visitors also contributed to an early departure for one group.
The campground's policy of requiring payment for the entire stay upon arrival or a couple of months upfront is mentioned, which wasn't necessarily a problem for the reviewer initially but became relevant when they needed to leave early due to the aforementioned connectivity issues. The lack of response from the owner regarding a refund request is a significant concern raised in the detailed review.
On a more positive note, the hosts did not appear to have issues with unpleasant bugs like mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, or chiggers, at least during the reviewer's stay.
Features: Seclusion, Proximity to Beaches, and Potential for Improvement
The standout features of The Oasis RV Campground seem to be its secluded location, which offers privacy, and its proximity to beaches known for great sunsets. These aspects are praised in one of the reviews. The potential for hunting and fishing, mentioned in the more critical review, could also be a significant draw for those interested in these activities.
However, the issues raised regarding the electrical infrastructure, trash service, lack of promised internet, and the owner's alleged unresponsiveness to concerns and refund requests detract from the overall appeal. The reviewer who experienced these problems strongly recommends that potential visitors "do your homework and make sure you are working with someone who is honest and upfront" and suggests considering other campgrounds in the area.
Despite these criticisms, the other review simply states "Great place, very private and secluded," indicating that some visitors have had a positive experience, particularly valuing the privacy and seclusion, as well as the beach access.
Promotional Information and Recommendations
Based on the conflicting reviews, it's challenging to present straightforward promotional information. The campground offers a secluded setting with potential for hunting and fishing and is located near beaches with nice sunsets. These could be considered its primary selling points.
However, potential local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of the issues raised in the more detailed review concerning infrastructure (electrical boxes), services (trash pickup, internet), and management responsiveness. It would be prudent to contact The Oasis RV Campground directly at (301) 339-4031 or +1 301-339-4031 to inquire about the current status of these aspects and to get a clear understanding of what to expect during a stay.
Given the strong recommendation from one reviewer to consider other campgrounds in the area due to negative experiences, local users might want to do further research and compare options before making a booking at The Oasis RV Campground. While the seclusion and beach proximity are attractive, the reported issues with services and management should be taken into consideration.
In conclusion, The Oasis RV Campground near Perry, FL, offers a secluded location with access to beaches and potential for hunting and fishing. However, recent feedback indicates potential issues with infrastructure, services, and management responsiveness. Local users searching for "camping near me" should weigh these factors and consider contacting the campground directly for the most current information before making a decision.

The Oasis RV Campground Reviews
This campground is a good secluded location for hunting and fishing. The campground its self is a black crushed asphalt, the electrical boxes are places far behind where the campers park, so you will need a extra long cord or an extension. The boxes are also in the middle of your area to sit or eat outside. Upon arrival we were told our specific electrical box needed to be checked due to potential hurricane damage, we consented, that never happened. The regular trash pick up company closed business about 2 weeks after we arrived, we agreed to assist with taking the garbage to the dump until the owner was able to get a new garbage company. A new company was never hired and we were the only ones taking the garbage to the dump, when I asked the owner about it, he just said he lost his pass to the dump. I asked several times about the ant hills to be treated, there was no solution. You are asked to pay for all of your stay once you arrive or to pay and keep a couple of months up front. Which was not a problem; however, we had to leave early because 2 of us were unable to work or have phone connection. We were told when we first arrived that we would have internet in approx 4 weeks; however, after further investigation, that was a lie, the fiber he spoke of hadn't even started being laid in the Keaton Beach area. I have reached out to the owner several times along with other campers about getting our money refunded, with absolutely no response from the owner. This area has great potential and there are many campgrounds in the area, do your homework and make sure you are working with someone who is honest and upfront, there were many things that we could have addressed ahead of time if the owner would have been honest. We went out of our way to try and help take care of the area cleaning up downed trees, pulling leaves, treating our areas and community areas for ants. We are very disappointed that the owner will not be professional and respond in regards to our refund, so, on to the next step of getting it back. The people in the area are kind and helpful, we just recommend staying at one of the other campgrounds in the area.
