Thousand Trails Indian Lakes

As a teenager, my parents had a year round spot at this campground. We'd spend every weekend, a few weeks out of the summer & and occasional winter weekend here. I had my own small camper for me & a friend (or that my sister & her family commandeered when they came) to stay in on the side of my parents larger RV.While I'm currently 51 & this was when I was around 14/15, I don't know much about pricing. I just know it was an amazing place to grow up for kids or teenagers. I even had my own small golf cart that was constantly needed a charge. We weren't wealthy or even well off so, I'd think it was reasonable. Now that I'm older, I'm looking into getting my own membership. I just hate that I waited until my kids were grown. My parents had their friends there & i made my own friends. I just can't say enough great things about this place. Although we knew plenty of older people that stayed there on the weekends, there were also a lot of people with kids. There was always something fun going on from bingo to euchre tournaments to costume parties & dances. Just a wonderful, wonderful place & I have nothing but fond memories of there. - Glenna Jo Sims

Thousand Trails Indian Lakes Introduce

Looking for a "camping near me" experience that goes beyond a weekend getaway? Thousand Trails Indian Lakes, located at 7234 IN-46, Batesville, IN 47006, USA, offers a unique community-oriented camping environment. You can reach them at (812) 934-5496 or +1 812-934-5496 to learn more about their membership options and the experience they provide. Based on available reviews, this campground has fostered a strong sense of community and offers a range of activities, particularly appealing to those seeking a longer-term or recurring camping destination.

According to one long-time visitor, Thousand Trails Indian Lakes provided an "amazing place to grow up" for children and teenagers. This individual's family had a year-round spot at the campground, spending numerous weekends, summer weeks, and even occasional winter weekends there. This suggests an environment conducive to building lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging within the campground community. The reviewer fondly recalls having their own small camper on the side of their parents' RV, highlighting the potential for families to create their own camping setups and enjoy extended stays.

While pricing information from the past is not directly relevant to current rates, the positive recollection of it being "reasonable" suggests that the campground aimed for accessibility. Now, as an adult, the same reviewer is considering obtaining their own membership, expressing regret for not doing so sooner for their own children. This speaks volumes about the positive and memorable experiences associated with Thousand Trails Indian Lakes, particularly its ability to create a vibrant social atmosphere for both children and adults.

The long-time visitor also highlighted the diverse range of activities available at the campground, catering to various interests and age groups. From bingo and euchre tournaments to costume parties and dances, there seemed to be "always something fun going on." This indicates a focus on fostering social interaction and creating a lively community spirit among the campers. The presence of both families with children and older individuals enjoying weekend stays further emphasizes the inclusive nature of the campground.

However, it is important to present a balanced perspective based on all available feedback. Another recent review details a negative experience related to the membership acquisition process. This individual purchased a membership to secure an appointment to view available lots. While they provided their information for background checks and were told to expect a call back within a couple of days, they reportedly did not receive any communication for approximately three weeks, despite making several phone calls and leaving messages. This lack of follow-up led to the cancellation of their membership and a strong negative sentiment towards Thousand Trails.

This negative review also mentions a detail about the campground's operational schedule, stating that they "don't open until May 1." Additionally, there was a requirement to pay a significant amount by this date for the season, even though the reviewer felt they were not being assisted in finding a suitable lot. The reviewer also mentioned having a successful background check done at another location with immediate feedback, contrasting sharply with their experience with Thousand Trails.

Considering these contrasting experiences, it appears that Thousand Trails Indian Lakes has the potential to offer a strong sense of community and a wealth of activities for members who secure a spot. The positive long-term experience shared by one reviewer paints a picture of a welcoming environment ideal for families and individuals seeking a recurring or seasonal camping destination. The availability of year-round spots in the past further suggests the possibility of establishing a long-term presence within the campground community.

However, the negative review regarding the membership process raises concerns about communication and customer service during the initial stages of joining the Thousand Trails network at this specific location. Potential members should be aware of this feedback and may want to inquire specifically about the membership acquisition process, lot availability, and communication protocols when contacting Thousand Trails Indian Lakes.

Regarding services and features, while the first review doesn't detail specific amenities like hookups or restroom facilities, the mention of RVs and personal campers implies the availability of necessary infrastructure to support these types of camping. The activities listed (bingo, tournaments, parties, dances) highlight the social and recreational aspects of the campground. The fact that families had year-round spots suggests the potential for a more permanent or semi-permanent camping setup for members.

Promotional information is not explicitly available in the provided reviews. To learn about current membership fees, seasonal rates, or any special offers, it is essential to contact Thousand Trails Indian Lakes directly at (812) 934-5496 or +1 812-934-5496. Inquire about the different membership tiers, the process for selecting a campsite, and any current promotions for new or returning members.

In conclusion, Thousand Trails Indian Lakes in Batesville, Indiana, presents a unique opportunity for those seeking a community-oriented "camping near me" experience, potentially for longer stays or as a recurring destination. The positive long-term review underscores the welcoming environment and diverse activities offered. However, prospective members should also be mindful of the recent negative feedback regarding the membership acquisition process and ensure they have clear communication with the campground management regarding availability and procedures before committing to a membership. Contacting them directly is the best way to gain a comprehensive understanding of what Thousand Trails Indian Lakes currently offers and whether it aligns with your camping needs and expectations.
