gkl properties campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Osgood, Indiana area, gkl properties campground, located at 4970 N County Rd 350 E, Osgood, IN 47037, USA, presents a camping option with mixed feedback from recent visitors. To provide a detailed introduction, we will objectively analyze the available customer reviews to understand its environment, services, features, and any specific concerns raised by fellow campers.
The environment of gkl properties campground is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. One positive, albeit older, review from two years ago mentions that the park was "well taken care of," suggesting that the physical environment was once, and potentially still is, maintained to a satisfactory level. This could imply that the campground offers a clean and organized setting for campers. However, the more recent and critical reviews do not comment on the aesthetic or natural aspects of the campground, focusing instead on management and billing issues. Therefore, local users searching for "camping near me" at gkl properties campground will need to seek additional information from other sources or perhaps a visit to understand the current state of its environment and the type of natural surroundings it offers.
In terms of services, the customer reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the management and billing practices at gkl properties campground. One long-term resident who stayed for five months recounts frequent and early demands for payment from the owner, describing it as "pinching for money" and noting a lack of patience despite timely payments. This raises questions about the campground's billing procedures and communication with guests regarding payments. The same reviewer also details issues with electricity billing, alleging that the owner would fail to provide timely notifications of the amount due and then blame the resident for late payment, even though the resident was willing to pay promptly upon receiving the correct amount. Furthermore, this long-term resident was ultimately asked to leave based on an accusation of smoking marijuana, which they vehemently denied, citing it as a disrespectful and sickening experience indicative of poor management. This account suggests potential issues with communication, respect for long-term residents, and possibly unfounded accusations leading to eviction. Another reviewer echoes the sentiment of poor management, labeling the owners as "greedy as can be." In contrast, the older review praises the campground as "well taken care of," which might suggest a change in management style or a difference in experiences over time. The discrepancy in these accounts highlights the importance for potential campers to be aware of these reported management issues when considering gkl properties campground for their "camping near me" needs.
The features of gkl properties campground are not clearly outlined in the provided reviews. The older positive review mentions a "well taken care of park," which could imply that standard campground features such as campsites (for RVs and/or tents), potential hookups (water, electricity, sewer), and possibly basic amenities like picnic tables or fire pits were available at the time. However, the more recent negative reviews do not provide any information about the physical features of the campground, focusing solely on the negative interactions with management. Therefore, local users searching for "camping near me" will need to seek additional details about the specific features and amenities offered at gkl properties campground. This could include the types of campsites available, the presence and quality of any hookups, restroom and shower facilities (if any), laundry options, recreational areas, or other amenities that campers typically look for. The lack of this information in the reviews makes it difficult to provide an objective overview of the campground's features.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for gkl properties campground based on the provided reviews. The negative experiences reported by one long-term resident regarding billing practices suggest that potential campers should be cautious about any advertised rates or long-term stay agreements and ensure clear communication and documentation regarding all charges and payment schedules. Local users searching for "camping near me" at gkl properties campground should inquire directly about the cost of camping, any additional fees (such as for electricity), and the payment policies to avoid potential misunderstandings or disputes. Given the serious allegations of mismanagement and unfair treatment in one review, it would be prudent for prospective campers to have a clear understanding of all financial aspects and the campground's rules and regulations before committing to a stay. The absence of any positive mention of promotions or special offers in the reviews suggests that these are either not a focus of the campground or were not part of the experiences shared by these reviewers.
In conclusion, gkl properties campground in Osgood, Indiana, presents a mixed picture based on the limited customer reviews available. While an older review suggests a well-maintained park, more recent feedback raises significant concerns about the campground's management, including allegations of aggressive billing practices, poor communication regarding payments, and disrespectful treatment of long-term residents, culminating in an accusation of illegal activity and eviction that was denied by the reviewer. The positive aspect noted is that "the people who camp here are nice folks," suggesting a potentially friendly community among the campers themselves, which contrasts sharply with the negative portrayal of the owners. For local users searching for "camping near me," gkl properties campground requires careful consideration. The lack of information about the environment and features in the recent reviews necessitates further inquiry. Most importantly, the serious allegations regarding management style and billing practices should prompt potential visitors to seek additional, up-to-date feedback from other sources and to have clear, documented agreements on all terms and conditions before booking a stay. The stark contrast between the positive older review and the negative recent ones indicates a potential shift in management or overall experience at gkl properties campground.

gkl properties campground Reviews
Where do I even start? Stayed here from May to September. Every month on the first you can bet that my phone would be blowing up by owner pinching for money. Relax, common sense you will get your money in your drop box first of every month. Then she would have to tell me mid month how much I owe for electricity, when she fails to text me and then tells me “that’s how late you are on it” it’s not my problem, it’s your job to text me the amount own and I WILL pay you same day as soon as I know correct amount. Then as a person who lived here full time, you kick me out accusing me of smoking weed?? You smelled it from my “area”?? I have never touched the stuff. So much disrespect it’s quite sickening. I have never seen such poor management in my life by any business. The people who camp here are nice folks. Owners are greedy as can be, wish I could give less than one star

Apr 06, 2025 · Paul RichardAbsolutely LOVE this campground!!!! My husband and I have camped here a few times already and it's so relaxing. The camp host Jill is awesome!!! Jill is extremely accommodating and very friendly. The ONLY thing we would recommend is that a bath house be put in somewhere and possibly a porta potty near the front of the campground.
Sep 08, 2021 · Janet KauligI will not rate this campground but it makes me. This was the worse camping experience my family has had.The host is very rude by driving a golf cart through your site. Plus it burns oil and you couldn’t enjoy the fresh air. They also had at least 3-4 tents on their site. The noises level was awful as well keep people cutting through your camp site. Another issue is there was dogs running around unhooked.Very disappointed long weekend.
May 31, 2021 · Charles ReevesLoved the campground. Camp host was great and super friendly. The sites are large and well shaded. You will need long hose and electric because they are pretty far apart. The only downfall... dump station was horrible. You had to stand over foul stuff to dump.
