The environment of Hudsons Old Mill Campground in Friendship, Indiana, is likely influenced by the rural setting of southeastern Indiana. Friendship is a small town known for hosting the NMLRA events, which draw a large number of visitors interested in historical firearms and related crafts. The campground's environment is likely geared towards accommodating these events, suggesting open areas for camping and vendor setups. The presence of an "old mill" in the name hints at a potentially historic or rustic setting, perhaps with some unique geographical features. While specific details about the natural landscape are not provided, the campground's popularity among event attendees suggests a functional and community-oriented environment. The flea market aspect indicates designated areas for vendors and shoppers, contributing to a bustling and social atmosphere, especially during market days and events.
The services and features of Hudsons Old Mill Campground are highlighted in customer reviews, offering insights into what local users can expect. A long-time visitor, who has been coming to the campground for 30 years through three different owners, notes that the "new owners have a few kinks to figure out," specifically mentioning the timing of emptying the "only 2 port-a-pots" and the trash receptacles. This indicates that while the new management is generally doing an "awesome job," there are areas for improvement in terms of basic sanitation facilities. The reviewer suggests adding more port-a-pots and trash receptacles throughout the campground to better serve the campers and maintain cleanliness, especially to alleviate pressure on the bathhouse.
Despite these acknowledged challenges, the positive aspects of Hudsons Old Mill Campground shine through. The campground is clearly a beloved gathering place, particularly during the NMLRA shoot, fostering a strong sense of community where visitors look forward to seeing their "favorite people in the world." This social aspect is a significant feature, making it more than just a place to park an RV or pitch a tent; it's a place to connect with like-minded individuals. The fact that the campground looked "packed" suggests its popularity, especially during events. For vendors, the campground offers the opportunity to set up and sell goods, as one reviewer mentioned selling tie dyes, leathers, and handmade Native American jewelry, indicating a welcoming environment for both campers and sellers.
The flea market is another key feature of Hudsons Old Mill Campground. One reviewer who visited the flea market noted that it was "good" and that the "area was clean." They observed "typical items" and "food trailers," suggesting a traditional flea market experience with a variety of goods and food options available. While this reviewer didn't have direct experience with the campground or event hall, the fact that the campground appeared "packed" to them further underscores its activity level and popularity, especially during flea market days or events.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, Hudsons Old Mill Campground likely leverages its unique combination of camping and a flea market, particularly in conjunction with events like the NMLRA shoot, to attract visitors. They might offer special rates or preferred spots for vendors who also camp at the facility during these events. Highlighting the sense of community and the long-standing tradition of the campground, as mentioned by the 30-year visitor, could also be a promotional strategy. Hudsons Old Mill Campground and Flea Market Reviews
We love camping here during the NMLRA shoot. We also set up as vendors selling tie dyes, leathers, and handmade native American jewelry. I've been coming to this campground for 30 yrs through 3 owners. The new owners have a few kinks to figure out, like the timing of emptying the only 2 port-a-pots in the campground and getting the trash emptied once it is full. But besides those things, they are doing an awesome job!Maybe putting up more port-a-pots and putting out more trash receptacles throughout the campground would help keep everything clean and take the pressure off of everyone going up to the bath house to use that instead of the full port-a-pots. That's just my 2 cents.I'll continue to come here to see all of my favorite people in the world for years to come.

Jun 15, 2019 · Randi “Hempweaver74” EcksteinThis year was our first year to attend...camp...sell at the Old Mill flea market and campground. We had a blast...met hundreds of people...sold almost everything we brought. Scott and his family do a great job taking care of campers and vendors. Everything was clean, organized and was a great atmosphere. We sold driftwood for landscaping and will definitely return in the spring. Thanks again
