The environment at Three Rivers Hideaway is one of its most appealing features, blending natural beauty with accessibility. The campground is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, offering a scenic backdrop of mountains and mature trees. A significant highlight is the beautiful river that runs at the back of the grounds. This allows campers in designated sections to enjoy the soothing sounds of the running water, especially at night, creating a truly serene atmosphere. The natural setting means visitors can expect to encounter local flora and fauna, contributing to an authentic outdoor experience. Despite its natural ambiance, its proximity to the park entrance and the town of Three Rivers means campers are not completely isolated, providing a good balance between wilderness immersion and convenience.
In terms of services, Three Rivers Hideaway is praised for its comprehensive offerings and high standards of cleanliness. A standout feature, frequently highlighted by guests, is the cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms, a crucial amenity for any campground. This commitment to hygiene significantly enhances the comfort of campers. The campground is divided into distinct sections to cater to various camping preferences: sites with full hookups for RVs, sites without hookups for a more rustic RV or tent experience, and a particularly sought-after section without hookups located directly by the river. This variety ensures that different types of campers, from those requiring full RV amenities to those preferring a more traditional tent camping experience, can find a suitable spot. The presence of friendly and helpful staff, including Melissa who runs the joint and a responsive maintenance team, is consistently mentioned in positive reviews, indicating a high level of customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff's kindness and knowledge contribute significantly to the overall positive camping experience, even going as far as assisting with minor personal issues like finding draino, demonstrating a genuine care for their guests.
The features of Three Rivers Hideaway extend beyond basic amenities to create a truly enjoyable stay. The availability of sites directly on the river is a unique and highly desirable feature, allowing campers to truly "hear it run at night" and offering direct access to the water for relaxation or perhaps even fishing. For RV campers, the option of full hookups provides the convenience of water, electricity, and sewer connections, making for a comfortable stay. Tent campers, on the other hand, can choose between more basic sites or those by the river for a more immersive natural experience. The campground's layout and natural surroundings offer a degree of privacy, allowing campers to enjoy their space. Another charming, albeit anecdotal, feature mentioned by a delighted guest is the potential visit from "Fuzzbucket," a cat that reportedly enjoys cheese, adding a quirky and memorable touch to the stay for those lucky enough to encounter her. This speaks to the homely and welcoming vibe cultivated by the campground operators.

Three Rivers Hideaway Reviews
What a nice find a few minutes outside Sequoia NP. Prices fair and showers and baths clean. there are 3 sections - hookup, no hookup and no hookup down by the river. Thats the sweet part, you can get down to the river and hear it run at night. The people that run it are all really really nice!
Mar 13, 2025 · Jeffrey OtteHands down one of my favorite campgrounds in all my travels. Melissa who runs the joint is so kind and knowledgeable, the maintenance guy found me some draino, location is right outside the park, a beautiful river runs at the back of the grounds…if you get lucky enough, and Fuzzbucket chooses you, please take good care of her (she really likes cheese). 10/10 will be back next year!

Feb 12, 2025 · Jennifer OakenThough Three Rivers Hideaway is easy to find and has a great location along the river, our experience left us feeling that it doesn't belong on the "must visit again" list. Here’s why:First, we made a glamping reservation for four hookup sites, with the understanding that they would all be located next to each other. However, when we arrived, our group was split into two, with a large RV in between us. We were told that the RV needed 50-amp service and that it had made its reservation much earlier than ours. But if this was the case, why promise something you can’t deliver? It was frustrating to be split up, especially when we had specifically booked our sites to be together.Second, the facility advertises a military discount. When the camp host was informed that all four families in our group were military, she seemed visibly agitated and annoyed by the need to process the discounts. It felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, especially when we were just trying to take advantage of an advertised perk.Third, while the camp host had initially granted us a late check-out, we were unexpectedly told on the day of our departure that we needed to leave by the standard check-out time. To make matters worse, they turned off our water pressure before we had a chance to fully clean out our gray and black tanks. This was an unnecessary inconvenience and felt disrespectful.Overall, we didn't mind the small sites or the fact that their cable TV was out of commission. But the poor service and lack of follow-through on promises is simply unacceptable. It’s a shame, because with a bit more attention to customer care, this place could be so much better.
