Trout Creek Campground Introduce
Looking for a beautiful and well-maintained campground close to home? Trout Creek Campground, located at 1006 Trout Creek Rd, Tuckasegee, NC 28783, USA, offers a serene and enjoyable camping experience for local users. If you're searching for "camping near me" and value a picturesque setting with the soothing sounds of a creek, along with essential amenities, Trout Creek Campground is worth considering. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a laid-back, old-school camping atmosphere with a focus on natural beauty and functionality.
The environment at Trout Creek Campground is consistently praised for its beauty. One reviewer simply states, "Beautiful campground," setting the tone for the natural appeal of the location. A significant feature highlighted by multiple visitors is the presence of a "nice creek" or "little babbling creek" that runs alongside many of the campsites. Imagine the tranquility of setting up camp next to the gentle flow of water, providing a relaxing backdrop for your outdoor stay. The abundance of trees also contributes to the ambiance, offering shade and a sense of being immersed in nature. Campers have noted that the sites do not feel cramped, suggesting a spacious layout that allows for comfortable enjoyment of your individual camping area.
In terms of services, Trout Creek Campground offers full hookups at many of its sites, including 35-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. This is a significant advantage for RV campers who appreciate the convenience of these amenities. The campground also provides a shower house that is described as "clean," ensuring a comfortable and hygienic experience for all campers. For families with young children, there is a "small playground" on-site, offering a dedicated space for kids to play and burn off energy. Additionally, the presence of a store (mentioned in one review of a nearby campground in the area, though not specifically for Trout Creek, it's a common amenity for campgrounds) could potentially offer basic supplies, though this needs to be confirmed directly with the campground.
A notable feature of Trout Creek Campground is its access to an ATV trailhead located at the back of the campground. This caters to outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy off-road adventures. While some campers noted the presence of ATVs, it was also mentioned that they were "not noisy," suggesting that the campground manages to accommodate this activity without disrupting the peaceful atmosphere for other guests. This access to ATV trails could be a significant draw for local users who own ATVs and are looking for a convenient base to explore the surrounding terrain.
It's important to note a couple of logistical aspects mentioned in the reviews. The road leading into the campground is described as a "single lane road" and "skinny," requiring drivers to proceed with caution and take their time, especially when encountering other vehicles. Additionally, one reviewer mentioned "some dogs running around." While this didn't seem to be a major issue, it's something to be aware of, particularly for campers with their own pets or those who might be less comfortable around free-roaming animals. It would be advisable to inquire about the campground's pet policies and the presence of other animals during your booking.
One of the drawbacks mentioned in a review is the limited connectivity. Campers reported "no cell service or wireless" at their campsites. While the host indicated that there was wireless available at the bathhouse, one reviewer was unable to establish a connection. This lack of reliable internet and cellular service might be a consideration for those who need to stay connected for work or personal reasons. However, for those looking to truly disconnect and immerse themselves in nature, this could be seen as a benefit, contributing to the "laid back old school campground" vibe.

Trout Creek Campground Reviews
Beautiful campground, clean, well kept, nice people. Shower house is clean, there is a small playground & a nice creek. The road in is a single lane road & there are some dogs running around. Just take your time & you will be fine getting in. :)
Jun 28, 2024 · Courtney BautistaJust got back from Labor Day weekend stay at Trout Creek. Laid back old school campground. Full hookups (35amp, water, sewer) that were fine. A lot of the sites are right beside little babbling creek (really nice). Site was pretty level, and easy setup. Lots of trees and sites did not feel cramped. Bath house is small, but functional. No cell service or wireless. Host indicated there was wireless at bath house, but I was not able to get a connection. Gravel road going into camp is skinny, but manageable. There is an ATV trailhead at back of campground, so we saw a lot of ATVs, but was not noisy. Lack of cell/wireless was reason I did not rate 5 stars.
Sep 05, 2023 · JeffinMooresvilleWe camped for three nights during the middle of the week and had a great time. Our campsite backed right up to the creek, and the sound was wonderful. As other campers have mentioned, the sites are rather packed in, and our neighbors’ site was right off one side of us, so not real private, if that’s important to you.Road going into the campground is a little challenging and luckily we met a large construction vehicle when we only had the truck and not the trailer attached. That would have been interesting. It looked like a great place for kiddos - and a great family campground. We would definitely consider staying again if we’re back in the area.
Jul 22, 2022 · C EThis place is amazing and the family that run it are even better!! They really are the most amazing hard working biggest heart bunch you would ever meet. The campground is very clean and well kept. It has all you need including a babbeling creek that has full connections and trails for miles and miles. They let ohv and atvs in the back so they are not racing down the camp rds. The trails for them are off the charts and go through the whole valley with huge mountains on both sides to climb up. Fishing and waterfalls everywhere. We will be coming back to this gem often. Thank you so much Mr.Tony and John and Camping Granny and little Triton for such a fantastic week. We will never forget it!!
Sep 10, 2020 · Cactus Jacks Trail RidesNice out of the way campground. Facilities are small. Men's restroom had one shower (closed for Covid), one stall and one urinal. If you can get a site right next to the river it is wonderful. This is a launch spot to many ATV trails in the mountains and the ATV starting up in the morning can be noisy.
