You can reach them at (828) 553-0373 or their mobile number +1 828-553-0373 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer reviews, Panther Ridge is described as a "hidden gem" with "beautiful views of the blue ridge mountains" and "very, very nice owners." It caters primarily to RVers and those seeking a peaceful retreat in a picturesque mountain setting. However, it's important to note the access via a "steep gravel road," which may require a 4x4 vehicle for some. The campground is small and offers full hook-ups, but amenities for children are limited.
Within the "camping near me" category, Panther Ridge RV Park and Campground stands out for its stunning natural environment. Situated near Lake Toxaway, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, campers can expect breathtaking scenery. Reviews highlight "beautiful views" and the "quiet beauty" of the surroundings. The elevation likely provides cooler temperatures and fresh mountain air. One reviewer mentioned "trails to walk," suggesting opportunities for light hiking directly from the campground. The proximity to Cashiers and Brevard (just a few minutes away) and a reasonable driving distance to Asheville (1 hour) and Charlotte (3 hours) offers a blend of secluded natural beauty with access to charming mountain towns and larger city amenities. The "hidden gem" description implies a sense of discovery and a less crowded, more intimate camping experience. However, the "steep gravel road" access is a significant environmental factor to consider, potentially limiting accessibility for some types of vehicles.
The services at Panther Ridge RV Park and Campground appear to cater primarily to RVers, offering "full hook-ups" which typically include sewer, water, and electric connections. One reviewer mentioned a "small bath house," although its condition was not assessed. Another review noted the presence of a "bathroom, shower and washer/dryer," indicating essential facilities for longer stays. There is also a "small covered pavilion" and a "family picnic area, complete with a beautiful fireplace," providing communal spaces for gatherings and enjoying the outdoors. Notably, one review explicitly states "There is no Wifi offered," and Verizon cell signal was "weak but serviceable," which is important for those needing to stay connected. The owners are described as "very, very nice" and helpful, even assisting guests with navigating the challenging access road. The campground is noted as "neat and tidy," suggesting well-maintained sites and grounds. However, the lack of "playground, pool, trails, or other activity areas for kids" indicates that the services are more geared towards adults seeking a peaceful escape rather than families with young children looking for structured activities within the campground itself.
The features of Panther Ridge RV Park and Campground center around its scenic beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and essential RV amenities. The "beautiful views of the blue ridge mountains" are a major draw, offering a picturesque backdrop for camping. The campground is described as "small" and "peaceful," suggesting a quiet and relaxing environment, ideal for those wanting to "get away from it all." The availability of "full hook-ups" is a significant feature for RV travelers seeking convenience. The presence of a bath house, shower, and washer/dryer adds to the comfort for longer stays. The family picnic area with a fireplace provides a lovely communal space for enjoying meals and gatherings. The reported "trails to walk" offer a bonus for nature enthusiasts who want to explore the immediate surroundings on foot. The proximity to nearby mountain towns like Cashiers and Brevard offers opportunities for exploring local shops, restaurants, and attractions. However, the "steep gravel road" access requiring a 4x4 vehicle for some is a unique feature that potential visitors must be aware of. The lack of amenities for children might also be considered a defining feature for those traveling with families.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not mention any specific discounts or special offers. Given its description as a "hidden gem" and the personal assistance offered by the owners, it's possible that their approach is more focused on providing a quality experience rather than extensive promotions. To find out about their rates, availability, and any potential seasonal discounts or special packages, local users should contact Panther Ridge RV Park and Campground directly at (828) 553-0373 or +1 828-553-0373. When you call, be sure to inquire about the campsite rates for RVs and any potential tent camping options, as well as any policies regarding vehicle access due to the steep gravel road. It might also be helpful to ask about any specific rules or regulations for the campground to ensure it aligns with your camping preferences. Checking if they have a website or any online booking platforms might also provide additional information on pricing and availability. Given the positive reviews about the owners, a direct conversation is likely the best way to get the most accurate and up-to-date information.
In conclusion, Panther Ridge RV Park and Campground offers a potentially serene and scenic "camping near me" experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Lake Toxaway, NC. Its beautiful mountain views, full hook-ups for RVs, and peaceful atmosphere are highly praised by visitors. However, the access via a steep gravel road, which may require a 4x4 vehicle, is a crucial factor to consider. While essential amenities like a bath house, shower, and washer/dryer are available, the campground has limited facilities for children. For local users seeking a quiet escape in a stunning natural setting, Panther Ridge could be an ideal choice. To obtain detailed information about services, features, and any current promotional offers, contacting the friendly owners directly via phone is strongly recommended before planning your visit to this "hidden gem" in the North Carolina mountains.

Panther Ridge RV Park and Campground Reviews
We had a delightful stay here in our Class C RV. It is a small campground, accessed by a steep gravel road. Our site had beautiful views and full hook-ups. The sites are close together, but our neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves. Actually, the whole campground was very peaceful. There is no Wifi offered, and our Verizon cell signal was weak but serviceable. There is a small covered pavilion and a small bath house, although we did not enter either so can't speak to their condition. My husband and I found this to be a perfect place to get away from it all. Very neat and tidy. There are no playground, pool, trails, or other activity areas for kids.
Aug 29, 2021 · Jeanine DavisOmg! This campground is a hidden gem! Very, very nice owners, beautiful views of the blue ridge mountains, and trails to walk! There is a bathroom, shower and washer/dryer for your needs. Sewer, water, electric hookups. They have a family picnic area, complete with a beautiful fireplace. This place is only a few minutes from Cashiers, and Brevard. Asheville is 1hr away, Charlotte 3.The only (and I mean only) downfall is the road up to the campground. It is a hill, and gravel. You need a 4x4 to climb it. Fortunately the owners helped us make it up, and I'm so so gad they did.If we ever want to see those beautiful blue ridge mtns again, we will book our spot at Panther Ridge!
May 16, 2021 · Megan PoseyEnjoyed our stay very much so. Great views, lots of waterfalls near by and lots of great mountain riding. Not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway which is a beautiful ride. The owners are great. We will definitely go back!!
Oct 15, 2018 · Dawn WrightNice family friendly campground on top of a mountain. Bathroom, shower, washer dryer. Would stay here again.
Jul 06, 2019 · Nick D'AllesandroThis place is absolutely the best little spot to camp! Mrs. Pam was so nice and she is a wonderful host. Also, the fellow campers were very friendly and informative. We stayed on a primitive campsite right next to the picnic area (we tent camped) and the view was to die for. Very reasonable prices and a great location. Right up the road from Gorges State Park where there are hiking trails that lead to Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls. The bath house was very clean and had all the amenities you could ask for. This place is a gem and we will definitely be going back one day!
