Tully Lake Campground Reviews
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. We've been back 3 years in a row. If you are lucky enough to reserve on the day it opens, you can book some really nice waterfront sites. The lake itself is really great - you can rent a kayak or canoe from the store and paddle around to all of the islands, chilling out, exploring, or just going swimming.Be forewarned, that you can't drive up to the sites, so you do have to lug your stuff out. They provide garden style carts that you can use to move your gear, which is nice.At night, it's pretty quiet - there's no real road noise and even the wildlife was pretty quiet.Bathrooms are good for a campground - clean and well stocked. They have showers as well and they are free. The staff are pretty friendly and the camp store has items that you might need if you forgot something. They sell firewood as well, all reasonably priced. Last time we went, it was the middle of heat wave and they dropped the price of the Klondike bars for people, which was a nice gesture.Other campers there are pretty friendly, although there's limited opportunity to interact.
Jun 27, 2024 · Michael KaneReally lovely campground. Pretty campsites with lots of space, many with access to lake. Bathroom clean and functional and good set up for dish clean up. No cars allowed at the campsites so you have to haul your gear and food back and forth. Was worried this would be hard but it wasn't too bad. They have rugged carts for gear and with a little organizing we were able to minimize trips back and forth at meal times. Short walk from campground to Doane's Falls is a must do. Spectacular. Will definitely be back.Did not rate rooms or service because THIS IS NOT A HOTEL.
Jun 30, 2024 · Ellie ArmsbyI recently had my first experience at Tully Lake Campground, where I spent three nights between campsites 25 and 26A/B. Unfortunately, both sites lacked easy water access and scenic views. Site 26A, in particular, was disappointing—it didn't offer great spots for setting up a tent, and there was little privacy as other campers frequently passed through. On the positive side, the management was exceptionally helpful and attentive, especially when it came to dealing with rain and providing firewood. However, some staff members seemed less professional, with a few seen shoving vapes into their pockets while on duty or even being on FaceTime or playing games. That said, the campground was generally clean, with only a few pieces of trash in hidden spots.I do think the cost of $50 per night is a bit steep, especially considering the lack of privacy at some sites. Additionally, $80 for a full day of canoe rental feels pricey. While the lake itself is calm and free of motorboats, it’s quite shallow, and the invasive mille-feuille makes for a soggy bottom. Despite these drawbacks, I do appreciate the efforts of the Trustees in supporting outdoor spaces and preserving natural areas.
Aug 11, 2024 · Leah HeymanThis was by far the most “luxurious” campsite I’ve stayed at. The ranger hut (open 8a-8p) has everything you could possibly need, including free towels and $2 coffee. The sites are spacious but not so spread out so that even the furthest site (which we were) was still reasonably close to the bathrooms and dumpsters. The rangers said they haven’t had issues with bears but we brought a bear canister regardless and it was perfect for keeping bugs, squirrels and other critters away from our food. The bathrooms were clean, well-lit, and well stocked. Other reviewers mention that the sites are close enough that you can hear people at other campsites, or that people are walking through your campsite. It’s true that there are trails that connect the three site plans, but if anyone walked through our camp, it was not an issue. I found that there was the normal amount of camp noise. There is a swimming point, boats for rent, and even the other campers were friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Jun 19, 2023 · Stefanie RichNice, quiet campground. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are very clean. This is a walk-in campground, so they have carts available to roll your gear back to your campsite to set up. There are plenty of carts but not enough for everyone to keep one at their campsite so you need to make sure you return the cart to the parking lot when you're done bringing stuff to your site. It's tent-only, which is nice. They have canoes and cornhole to rent, etc. I'd highly recommend it. They also have a wash station outside of the bathrooms to be able to wash your dishes so bring a basket or bucket or something to carry them to the bathroom. There are hiking trails through the campground and within walking distance from it (as well as the surrounding area).
