RV sites might be available, but they may be more limited in number and might offer partial hookups (electricity and water) rather than full services. Fire rings and picnic tables are generally provided at each campsite. Restroom facilities are likely to be available, which could range from basic vault toilets to more modern flush toilets and possibly showers, depending on the campground's size and development. Access to potable water is usually provided at designated locations within the campground. The focus is on providing the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay while preserving the natural character of the setting. Information regarding specific services can often be found on local camping directories or the campground's website, if available.

You might find smaller loops or individual sites that offer more privacy. The sounds of the flowing water often serve as a natural soundtrack to your camping experience. Depending on the location, there might be short hiking trails in the immediate vicinity, allowing you to explore the surrounding natural areas. The appeal lies in the natural beauty and the tranquil ambiance created by the presence of the creek or river.

The quieter and more natural setting can also be ideal for activities like birdwatching and nature photography. Campfires are often a central part of the camping experience, providing warmth and a place to gather in the evenings. The focus is generally on low-impact outdoor activities that allow you to appreciate the natural beauty of the location.

Up a Creek Campground Reviews
We were at the campground on a Sunday through Thursday visit. I found this to be a nice quiet campground. We had four people in our group. My husband and myself, my adult son and his friend. The campground is a smaller campground with the nightly rentals in the "front" portion and the seasonal in the "back" portion of the campground. It seemed that the seasonal spaces were very spacious compared to other campgrounds I have been to. The nightly rental spaces seemed typical with most campgrounds as far as space goes. There are two playgrounds and two shower/restroom facilities...one in the front half and one in the back half. There is one laundry area in the front portion. You can use inner tubes and I think Kayaks for the creek on the premises. We did not use these features. The store seemed nice and like it had the typical things you might need from a camping store. The few other campers we chatted with were very nice and the people working at the campground seemed very nice. Over all I think it is a nice campground.
Jun 17, 2022 · Sherry DaughertyVery accommodating to a large group with multiple sites, many children. Clean facilities, friendly staff. Fun river, playground, pool. Hosted free bingo for the kids, even changed the time to allow our groups kids to participate. Thank you!
Jul 15, 2022 · Daryl WallinWe had a great time at Up a Creek! It is a clean, well-kept and quiet campground. Usually I avoid the bathrooms/showers at campgrounds but these ones were so clean and even smelled good. Our kids loved the pool, game room, basketball hoop, volleyball and playground. We enjoyed floating the river twice. The store is super nice with ice cream and pizza! We also love that it’s dog friendly. We hope to be back this summer and many more to come!
Jul 01, 2024 · Wild RootsWhat a wonderful campground! I am so excited to have found this place. I'm hoping to have a family reunion there in a couple years.
Jul 27, 2021 · Marilyn LinnenkampGreat campground. We used this campground as a base for visiting the area so we didn't use any of the amenities other than the laundry. One of the dryers was out of service and they are electric not gas so bring plenty of quarters. They have a nice camp store, beautiful pool, lots of things for kids to do, and there's a creek that runs by the campground where you can fish, but I don't know about swimming. Cell phone reception on Verizon and AT&T is decent, there is off-air TV, and the wifi works well if you're within range. The campground is very quiet and restful. We were there three night and got a great night's rest every night. The campground is close to Emily, MN a really cool small town. The local diner has great food and the butcher shop is terrific. The hardware store is very well stocked and the folks that run it are very helpful. Oh yea, and we had licorice ice cream and the local sweet shop. It was incredible. This is a nice area. The campground staff is very friendly as were all of the people we ran into in Emily. If we come back this way, you can bet we'll stay at Up A Creek Campground.
