Walnut Grove Campground Introduce
For local residents in search of a unique and welcoming "camping near me" experience, Walnut Grove Campground, located at 7440 W 400 N in Boggstown, Indiana, stands out for its strong sense of community, exceptionally friendly atmosphere, and remarkably affordable rates. If you're looking for more than just a place to pitch your tent or park your RV, and value genuine human connection and a fun, inclusive environment, Walnut Grove Campground might be your ideal next camping destination.
One of the most striking aspects of Walnut Grove Campground, consistently highlighted by enthusiastic reviewers, is its vibrant and welcoming community. One camper exclaimed, "it’s the kindest most fun community of people here I’ve never felt more welcomed and at home by people." This sentiment is echoed by others who describe the full-time residents as "very kind and friendly" and emphasize the strong sense of community they experienced. For those who appreciate social interaction and making new friends while camping, Walnut Grove appears to offer a unique and enriching environment where you can truly feel like part of the group.
The owner of Walnut Grove Campground, Jason, also receives exceptional praise for his kindness, fun-loving nature, and accommodating spirit. One reviewer specifically noted that Jason is "extremely kind, fun, communicative, and extremely accommodating," even going out of his way to assist with specific needs, such as providing for a CPAP machine. Another camper highlighted that the owner "charges less than what you’ll pay ANYWHERE else," underscoring the remarkable affordability of this campground. This combination of a caring owner and budget-friendly rates makes Walnut Grove an incredibly attractive option for local campers seeking value and genuine hospitality.
Beyond the welcoming community and the exceptional owner, Walnut Grove Campground also boasts a "beautiful land" with "plenty to do," according to one reviewer. While the specific activities and environmental features are not detailed, this suggests that the campground offers a pleasant natural setting with opportunities for recreation and enjoyment of the outdoors. Whether it's hiking, campfires, or simply relaxing amidst scenic surroundings, there seems to be enough to keep campers engaged and entertained.
It's important to address some older, lower-rated comments that mentioned the campground being "trashy or a dump." However, more recent reviews offer a contrasting perspective. One camper who was initially worried by these comments found that their experience was overwhelmingly positive, stating, "although there were people who lived there full time, I had absolutely no problems with it, nor did it feel like a dump or trashy. I loved it!" This suggests that perhaps conditions have improved or that the negative perceptions were not representative of the overall experience. The reviewer even opined that those leaving low comments might have been "a bit pretentious," emphasizing that if a simple and affordable place to stay while camping is all you need, Walnut Grove is a "wonderful choice!"
The experience of a camper who stayed for the eclipse further reinforces the positive atmosphere of Walnut Grove Campground. While the review is brief, the fact that it was a "pleasant experience" during a potentially crowded event speaks to the campground's ability to handle guests and maintain a positive environment even during peak times.
The recurring theme throughout the positive reviews is the strong sense of community and the genuine kindness of both the owner and the long-term residents. This creates a unique social dynamic that sets Walnut Grove apart from more conventional campgrounds. For local users who value human connection and are looking for a place where they can feel truly welcomed, this campground appears to offer an exceptional experience.
While specific services and amenities are not detailed in the provided reviews, the focus on community and affordability suggests that Walnut Grove might offer basic camping necessities in a more rustic and community-oriented setting rather than a resort-style experience. Potential campers might inquire about the availability of restrooms, water sources, fire pits, and other essential amenities when contacting the campground.
For local users seeking a "camping near me" option that prioritizes community, affordability, and a welcoming atmosphere, Walnut Grove Campground in Boggstown, Indiana, seems like a fantastic choice. The overwhelmingly positive recent reviews, particularly those emphasizing the kindness of the owner and the friendly community, paint a picture of a campground with a unique and appealing character. If you're looking for a place where you can make friends, enjoy a beautiful setting, and not break the bank, Walnut Grove Campground is definitely worth considering for your next weekend getaway or longer camping trip. To learn more about site availability and any specific amenities offered, local residents should consider visiting the location at 7440 W 400 N, Boggstown, IN 46110, USA, or searching online for contact information to get in touch with the owner, Jason, directly. Walnut Grove Campground Reviews
Where do I start man my weekend was amazing. First off it’s the kindest most fun community of people here I’ve never felt more welcomed and at home by people. Second off the owner is extremely kind and charges less than what you’ll pay ANYWHERE else. Third it’s beautiful land and there’s plenty to do. I will be back here every weekend of my life can’t wait to come back Friday it’s all I’ve thought about at work this week. If you want a place where you can make friends with some good people and have the best time ever then come here. P.S don’t take neon mikes spot he’s a legend here 😂 -Matthew
Apr 16, 2024 · Matt BrownI stayed here for the eclipse and it was such a pleasant experience.A lot of the low-rated comments talk about it being trashy or a dump, which was worrying. But although there were people who lived there full time, I had absolutely no problems with it, nor did it feel like a dump or trashy. I loved it! It was a fun community. Those people leaving low comments are, in my opinion, a bit pretentious. If all you need is a place to stay, which is what you do when you’re camping, this is a wonderful choice! And the people living there full time are very kind and friendly. The owner, Jason, is extremely kind, fun, communicative, and extremely accommodating for my father’s CPAP machine, and the people who were living there were also extremely kind and friendly.People are people, and I loved the community. I’ll definitely stay again if I’m ever down there!
Apr 10, 2024 · Linnea MorrisThe river is perfect for floating. I launch from campsite 1 and land around site 43. About 20 min trip. Perfect to repeat. No big investment of river time. Just right. And you do not need to leave Walnut Grove.
Aug 31, 2020 · Laura M.Very welcoming!!! Everyone there always smiles and greets you and your family as your driving through or out on walks the management is amazing!!! The bathroom had a small issue with plumbing and the Manager of camp sight was right on it although it was probably his time off but he fixed the problem right away! He even taught me a few things ! I would definitely recommend this camp sight for even beginning campers! I felt safe and welcomed the whole time!.
Sep 24, 2022 · Carolyn ParadiseIf you want to know what it's like camping here let me give it to you in short. It's like going to a rave in a homeless community with a view.I feel like it's one thing to live full time but this place is all homeless people in tents and runndown rv compounds. The family of 3 in a single tent came home at 1 am and was screaming and yelling and slamming doors to the cae until 4 am. If you plan to camp here (which you shouldnt) bring your 2nd amendment tools as we was approached many times by many homeless people wanting to borrow our phone and discuss that they have no money.DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
