S&H Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Greenfield, Indiana area, S&H Campground, located at 2573 W 100 N, Greenfield, IN 46140, is one option that may appear in your search results. To provide an objective introduction based on recent customer experiences shared online, it's important to consider both the positive and negative feedback received. You can reach S&H Campground at (317) 326-3208 or their mobile number, +1 317-326-3208.
Several reviewers have raised concerns regarding the overall condition and maintenance of S&H Campground. One customer explicitly states that the "park needs some serious long term maintenance. Particularly some grading." This suggests potential issues with the grounds, possibly leading to problems like puddling after rain, as mentioned by another reviewer who encountered a "huge puddle outside the door that couldn't be avoided." Such grading issues could impact the usability and enjoyment of campsites, particularly during wet weather conditions.
Another significant point of concern raised by a long-term visitor was the functionality of essential services, especially during the winter months. This reviewer noted that there were "no laundry or bathrooms in the winter," which could be a significant inconvenience for campers staying during colder periods. Additionally, they experienced a frozen water connection due to a broken heat tape, although they acknowledged that the issue was resolved promptly. This highlights the importance of verifying the availability of essential amenities based on the time of year you plan to visit.
Further complicating the experience for the same long-term visitor were issues with campsite availability and sewer system reliability. They reported being moved between sites due to reservations and encountering repeated instances of the sewer system backing up, preventing them from dumping their tanks for extended periods. The fact that this happened weekly until they requested a refund indicates a potentially recurring problem that prospective campers should be aware of.
The visual appeal of the campground, based on its online presence, seems to differ significantly from the reality experienced by at least one recent visitor. This reviewer stated that "from the pictures on their website, this campground looked to be very nice. However, when my wife and I stayed, it was more like a junk yard. We were surrounded by campers and RVs that were falling apart." This discrepancy between online representation and actual conditions is a crucial point for local users to consider when evaluating S&H Campground as a "camping near me" option.
Perhaps the most concerning feedback revolves around safety and the overall atmosphere of the campground during one visitor's stay. They reported that "the police showed up multiple times during our stay for fights, drugs, or dog attacks." Such incidents raise serious questions about the safety and security of the environment and directly contradict any claims of being "family-friendly." The reviewer explicitly stated they "wouldn't bring any children here" due to these issues and ultimately could not recommend the property to others.
While the provided information does not offer specific details about the services and features of S&H Campground, the customer reviews indirectly shed some light. The mention of water hookups and a sewer system indicates the presence of these basic RV amenities. However, the issues encountered with both suggest potential reliability concerns. The lack of laundry and bathroom facilities during winter is a significant limitation for off-season campers.
The campground's website may advertise "family-friendly events," but the negative experiences reported by a recent visitor regarding safety and the general atmosphere cast serious doubt on the suitability of the campground for families. Local users searching for "camping near me" with children should carefully consider this feedback.
Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, it is impossible to comment on any special offers or incentives that S&H Campground might be providing to attract local users.
In conclusion, based on the recent customer reviews available, local users searching for "camping near me" and considering S&H Campground should be aware of potential issues related to long-term maintenance, site grading, the availability and reliability of essential services (especially during winter), discrepancies between online representations and actual conditions, and significant concerns regarding safety and the overall atmosphere. While individual experiences can vary, the consistency of negative feedback regarding these aspects warrants careful consideration before making a booking. It would be prudent to seek more up-to-date information and potentially alternative "camping near me" options in the Greenfield, Indiana area before deciding on S&H Campground.

S&H Campground Reviews
To the point: This park is alright if it's not raining or cold. No laundry or bathrooms in the winter. Park needs some serious long term maintenance. Particularly some grading. Sites are very close in the older section of the park. Would honestly stay away from this park.I stayed here in December for 5 days and again in January for 3 weeks.December was good until it rained and I had a huge puddle outside the door that couldn't be avoided. My water connection froze because their heat tape broke, but they came out and fixed it immediately.January was horrible. To start I was taken to choose between 3 sites all of which were flooded so I was offered a different one that was not. 2 days later I was asked if I could move because that site was reserved. I was given the option to move to a site that I was originally told was unavailable. Every week I tried to dump my tanks only to have the sewer backed up not allowing me to dump. Each time it took going to the office for 3 days before it was fixed. This happened every week until I was fed up and asked for a refund for the rest of my stay and left. By mistake the owner charged my card instead of refunding me. When I brought it to his attention, instead of saying let me look into it he said he didn't charge my card. The next day I went down with proof and his staff corrected the issue.

We were surrounded by campers and RVs that were falling apart. The police showed up multiple times during our stay for fights, drugs, or dog attacks. They advertise family-friendly events, but with all the other issues, I wouldn't bring any children here. I definitely will not be back and can not recommend this property to anyone.
Apr 12, 2025 · Brad EngelThis place is extremely over priced for what it is (1000+ a month, plus electricity). And for what? The place is trashy and the dumpsters are always over flowing, and when they are emptied the trash ends up all over the place. It has potential but right now it is not worth the money they charge. The spots are small and the lower level floods so bad we had to walk through a foot of water for nearly a week and they did nothing to remedy that. I only gave 2 stars because they did their best to give us a spot with room, but even that one wasn't great. I could go on, just don't waste your money.
Apr 19, 2025 · Samantha WomackJUST... HORRIBLE!!! I literally won't go back to this place ever again. This place looks nothing like the website at all. The installations are disgusting. You can see a 4million dollars house with a disgusting backyard full of campers pilled like rats. I cant believe how they do not make a good maintenance of their business and so careless for the $900+ and another $90 for electricity per month, horrible conditions with barely space to chill outside the camper. Smells sooo bad in that campground is horrible. When you dump it, the drain floods and overfills downhill from the person dumping, making huges shitholes even entering down the campers. Lot of dog shit everywhere without picking it up. Even at the tiny playground for kids, it is disgusting, stepping on them who will think they would be there while kids are playing and no noticing. The water, you can't even drink it or use it to clean with all the iron coming in oxidating everything that touches plastic plus irritates the eyes while taking showers really badly, my kids and we were really hurt by that in our skin. My kids hated there. We need it to leave asap. Even the office stuff is rude and never a smile on their faces at all. The fact that if you leave before ends the month when you already make the payment and it's not refundable the weeks you have not been used is ridiculous. What a way to rip people. They do have laundry and it doesn't even work good, leaving the clothes so wet that you need to put twice the drier, it won't smell good neither.
Feb 12, 2025 · H MWe spent 3 days here, but couldn’t handle another night. The facilities are terrible, and the campground is a dump. My 3-year-old fell multiple times on the large rocks instead of gravel in our site. The only reason we stayed was because the nearby Jellystone and Koa were booked. Sites are close together with many seasonal and full-time residents. A guy who was obviously on drugs whistled nonstop and ignored us when we asked him to stop.I’ll never return and advise anyone considering this campground to avoid it.
