American Sunset RV & Tent Resort Introduce
For those seeking exceptional "RV parks near me" on the Washington coast, American Sunset RV & Tent Resort, located at 1209 N Montesano St, Westport, WA 98595, USA, emerges as a highly praised destination. Situated in the charming coastal town of Westport, this resort offers a welcoming atmosphere, convenient access to local attractions, and unique features that make it a standout choice for RV and tent campers alike.
The location of American Sunset RV & Tent Resort is a significant draw. It is described as being "close to the docks, fishing boats & cute little store fronts," offering guests easy access to the maritime activities and local charm of Westport. For those interested in fishing, crabbing (though one reviewer had to move for crab season), or simply exploring the harbor area, this proximity is a major advantage. Additionally, the resort is within walking distance to the sunrise and sunset (due to its location between the river and the sea), the port with its sea lions, a great pizza place, grocery stores, and other restaurants, providing convenience and entertainment options for guests.
The natural environment surrounding the resort is also highly appreciated. Guests can expect "lush greenery" and frequent wildlife sightings. Notably, deer are seen daily, typically emerging from the trees between 3 pm and 4 pm, offering a unique and enchanting experience for nature lovers. The community within the resort is characterized as "very serene and quiet, well maintained and clean," ensuring a peaceful and comfortable stay.
Security and cleanliness are clearly priorities at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort. The bathrooms and laundry room are accessible only with numerical lock combinations provided to residents and guests, creating a secure environment at any time of day or night. These facilities are consistently kept "clean & warm," which is highlighted as a "HUGE plus!" by one reviewer. This attention to hygiene and safety contributes significantly to the overall comfort and peace of mind of the guests.
The staff at American Sunset RV & Tent Resort consistently receive glowing reviews. Special mention is given to Mrs. Mary and Mr. Mel in the office, who are described as "💯THANK YOU🙏🏻" and greatly appreciated for their stay, chats, and advice. They even gifted blankets to one guest and their dogs, showcasing their exceptional kindness and hospitality. The reviewer notes that all staff encountered in the office were "very kind and friendly." Another reviewer echoes this sentiment, praising the "positive energy of the employees" and stating, "We feel welcome no to a place, to a family."
The manager, affectionately referred to as "Snow White," is repeatedly commended for taking her job "very seriously" and creating a "home" for everyone. Her initial serious demeanor quickly gives way to a "great smile" upon engaging in conversation. Other staff members, including Darla (the assistant who spoiled a guest's dog), and Chuck and Stephanie (who keep the grounds beautiful and clean), also receive praise for their friendly and positive attitudes, regardless of the weather or their personal feelings.
The resort offers practical amenities and services beyond the well-maintained facilities and friendly staff. They sell supplies in the office and even have books, movies, and board games available for guests to use or borrow, adding to the home-away-from-home feel. For those interested in local activities, they also offer clam digging experiences.
American Sunset RV & Tent Resort caters to various accommodation needs with daily, weekly, and monthly rates available. The resort is pet-friendly, with the expectation that owners will be clean, respectful, clean up after their dogs, and keep them leashed. A 5MPH speed limit is also in place to ensure the safety and tranquility of the community.
Beyond RV hook-up spots, the resort also offers tent spots for those with simpler camping needs. Families with children will appreciate the presence of a playground, and walking trails are available for leisurely strolls and enjoying the lush surroundings. While one reviewer initially noted the distance to the trash cans as a surprise, they also recognized that this likely contributes to the overall cleanliness of the park. Dog waste bags are conveniently available at the office/store entrance.
One particularly heartwarming aspect highlighted in the reviews is the daily feeding of deer by the manager, "Snow White," in the afternoon. This has become a beautiful and exciting moment for guests to witness, as the deer wait for her and even follow her. This unique interaction with wildlife adds a special touch to the American Sunset experience.
For guests with specific needs, such as those with autism and OCD, the cleanliness and security of the resort are particularly appreciated, providing a sense of comfort and safety. The inclusive atmosphere and the genuine care shown by the staff contribute to a feeling of being in a "hometown."
In conclusion, American Sunset RV & Tent Resort in Westport, WA, stands out as a highly recommended "RV park near me" due to its friendly and dedicated staff, clean and secure facilities, beautiful natural surroundings with daily deer sightings, and convenient location near local attractions. With daily, weekly, and monthly rates, as well as tent spots and amenities like a playground and walking trails, it caters to a wide range of travelers. American Sunset RV & Tent Resort Reviews
Visiting from Nevada, this little place became Home (Far Away) from Home, even though we only got to stay less than a week (had booked the month) unfortunately we're here for crab season and needed to move to another town/City yet again, but felt I needed to leave this review as this place is pretty special 🙂 From the location (close to the docks, fishing boats & cute little store fronts) to the lush greenery..to the wildlife! You WILL see deer DAILY here. Every day between 3pm-4pm they start emerging from the trees! The community is very serene and quiet, well maintained and clean! 😇 The bathrooms and laundry room are ONLY accessible with numerical lock combinations provided to Residents-guests so I felt really safe at any time of the day and night and are always kept clean & warm! (HUGE plus!) I want to give a big shout out to Mrs. Mary & Mr. Mel in the office..💯THANK YOU🙏🏻 we GREATLY appreciated the stay, the chats-advice and we and our boys (dogs) ESPECIALLY Thank you for the blankets you gifted us! 🙏🏻 Definitely helped keep us warmer! I didn't get to meet everyone, but those I got to chat with in the office were ALL very kind and friendly. Also in their office they sell supplies and even have books, movies and board games you could use/borrow. They also offer clam digging! Which I truly wanted to experience with my partner but being a fishermen..we HAD TO leave for the next town. Bottom line...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place 💯! As long as you are clean, respectful, clean up after your dog's & keep them leashed, and respect the 5MPH rule...All is great here! Forgot to take a picture but there's also a playground for children, walking trails and tent spots for those that don't want or need to rent a full RV-hook up spot. With daily, weekly and monthly rates....What more could you really ask for?! (Provided your vehicle-rig-RV-Camper etc has what you need to stay warm & fed etc for yourself lol) All necessities are met 💯! Thank you everyone at Sunset RV...we really Hope to be back one day! 🙏🏻
Dec 11, 2024 · LaObeja NegraThis place is so beautiful, very clean and the positive energy of the employees is amazing. We feel welcome no to a place, to a family.“Snow White”, like I called the manager, take her job very seriously. She make a “home” for everyone. At first, she said very serious “How I can help you”, but when I started talking, she give me a great smile. Like Darla, her assistant, who have spoiled my dog, and Chuck and Stephanie that keep all very beautiful and clean. All of them have a great smile always no matter the weather or how them feel.Bathroom and showers clean. Laundry room clean. I tell to my daughter today my surprise that they no have many place designated for trash, you need walk to the place they have the trash can, but at the same time, i notice that help to keep the place clean. You can find bag for dog 💩 at the office/store in a basket 🧺 at the entrance. And of course with all are happening with Latin today, for me was a relief.I’m not have racist problem, because i didn’t take personal and I know who have the problem with their own heart it’s the racist person, and either immigration problems, I am American because I born in PR and we are USA territory. But many people still ignorant of that and it’s hard and sad. However, I feel welcome and in peace here. And the best moment here is at the afternoon when the deers 🦌 wait for “Snow white” for feed them. Is the most beautiful and exciting moment ever. Look at them walk around her place, wait for her take the food and follow her to the forest. We are walk distance to the sunrise and the sunset because we are between the sun and the moon, between the river and the sea. Walk distance to the port and the sea lions🦭. I hear them from my bed.Walk distance to a great pizza place. Grocery and restaurants. For me, because I am autistic with OCD, it’s hard find a place I feel confident enough to enjoy. And because sometimes I wake up with panic attacks and need walk outside, one of the most important things is the cleaning and the security. For that I can resume this, I feel comfortable walking around in any time, and safe, inclusive in the middle of the night when I am the only person outside. Mary have good eyes and sense for get the energy of the people. She knows her business.I trained manager for more than 30 years and the service clients was a nightmare. But here have a great staff, with great facilities and great atmosphere.I feel in my hometown in many ways, close to the beach, smiley faces, friendly and the best “good morning” “have a good day”. No matter what happen, I am fine and resilient. People here too.I want my kids come here with my grandkids because is a great place for recharge.💯% recommend.
Feb 12, 2025 · Angeles RuizThis is a pretty RV park very close to the ocean & local marina with lots of trees & cool ocean breezes. They offer full hookups, big & small rig spaces. It has lots of beautiful tent spaces under tall pine trees. We saw a family of deer that roam on the huge grass field & through the area. The park is pet friendly, but state law says that pets must be on a leash at all times or you can be fined. They have a small laundry room with 3 washers & dryers, a bathroom, showers & a small heated pool in summer. We really enjoyed our stay in July when daytime temps were in the low to upper 60s & lows in the low 50s.The only drawback was that since it was summer, the park was pretty full & trailer spaces are very narrow. We could hear our neighbor's conversations & laughter until late that evening like they were inside our RV, although the park has an issued "Quiet Time" from 10 pm to 8 am. But that's camping in an RV park, I guess.
Jul 20, 2024 · Tammy1st time I've stayed at an RV/Tent site. Usually camp in secluded, primitive spots. This establishment is very nice. Bathrooms are SPOTLESS, smell very clean, with showers & coded entrance. There's a swimming pool!! But, it rained so we didn't use it. Sites are spacious, set well enough apart that we couldn't see the next campers. We were within walking distance to a port a potty, which was great! It was super clean as well with soap & a sink inside...yay! There's a little store inside the office that also rents out things like bouncy balls for kids (there's a playground too), crab pots, etc & they sell campfire wood. Two miles to the beach that has surfers & a very long (& slightly scary/dangerous) jetty. Steer clear of the edge of the cliff around Half Moon Bay, if you wanna stay alive!!!)I'm just waking up & I've heard no noise except birds & some frogs & that's wonderful. I haven't even heard any of the other dogs in the park.I highly recommend this camp site for tents (&RVs) because of all the reasons listed; PLUS it was under $40 & that's a great deal for a place at the last minute. Oh yeah... there's also a laundry room!
Aug 20, 2022 · Melody “MJ” VossWe have been coming to the American Sunset for years, the staff have always been very personable and made our family feel very welcomed. Our girls grew up coming to this campground and now they're all in late teens and 20s.We not only have disabled children but also have children with the LGBTQ community, the staff have always treated them with extreme exception and has made our family feel safe and welcomed. We will continue to share the love of the staff and campground with our grandbabies.Thank you so much to Mel, Mary, Stephanie, Darla and Beth, they all are very sweet and helpful with all questions we have asked.
