Antique Capital RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Gladewater, Texas area? Antique Capital RV Park, located at 500 S Loop 485, presents itself as a potentially appealing option for RV travelers. Based on the available customer reviews, the park offers a mix of positive attributes and some considerations that potential guests should be aware of before making a reservation.
One positive review highlights several appealing aspects of Antique Capital RV Park. The guest describes it as a "nice place to stay!" and specifically mentions that the "rates are affordable," which is often a significant factor for budget-conscious travelers. The cleanliness of the facilities is also praised, with the reviewer noting "clean bathrooms that were freshly remodeled." Updated and clean restrooms are a key amenity that can greatly enhance the comfort of an RV stay. Furthermore, the staff is described as "friendly," contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. For families, the presence of a "nice pool for the kids" is a valuable feature for recreation and relaxation. Additionally, the park offers a "pond for fishing," providing an enjoyable activity for anglers of all ages.
However, another, more detailed review presents a contrasting perspective, particularly regarding the park's policies and management style. This former resident, who lived at Antique Capital RV Park for seven months, indicates that while the park might be a "great place" in some aspects, it may not be suitable for everyone. They specifically caution those with children or dogs that tend to bark. According to this reviewer, they were told that their dogs barked too much and were not allowed to be left unattended in their fence. They also allege inconsistencies in rule enforcement, claiming that other residents' dogs exhibited similar barking behavior without consequence.
The same reviewer also recounts an issue involving their son's "little toy electric 4wheeler." After their son had been riding it, a new resident with a "real 4wheeler" reportedly rode it through the park (which is allegedly not allowed). The manager then reportedly told the first reviewer that if they had to address the new resident, they would also have to address the toy electric 4wheeler, equating it to the allowed golf carts. This led to a disagreement, as the reviewer felt the small, electric toy was significantly different from a full-sized, gas-powered 4wheeler.
Following these incidents, the reviewer states that they received an email requesting them to vacate the premises. They emphasize that this occurred shortly after their husband, a rig worker, had left to go back to work. The reviewer expresses disappointment with the timing and the alleged lack of consideration for their situation, claiming they were not given a reasonable timeframe (two weeks) for their husband to return and assist with the move. Adding to their negative experience, the reviewer alleges that the park management subsequently took money from their bank account without authorization, despite them having always paid in cash and not having a credit card on file with the park. The reviewer concludes by stating that their experience was initially positive but deteriorated significantly.
Considering these two reviews, Antique Capital RV Park appears to offer some appealing features, including affordable rates, clean and recently remodeled bathrooms, a friendly staff, a swimming pool, and a fishing pond. These aspects could make it an attractive option for individuals and families looking for a comfortable and amenity-rich RV park in the Gladewater area. The presence of a pool and fishing pond suggests a family-friendly environment with opportunities for recreation.
However, the second review raises significant concerns regarding the park's policies on pets and children's activities, as well as potential inconsistencies in rule enforcement and management practices. The allegations of being asked to vacate due to dog barking and the toy electric 4wheeler incident, coupled with the claim of unauthorized bank withdrawals, are serious issues that potential guests should carefully consider. The reviewer's experience suggests that the park may have specific and potentially strict rules regarding noise from pets and children's activities, and that these rules may not be applied uniformly. The alleged handling of the eviction notice and the unauthorized financial transaction are also significant red flags.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Gladewater, TX, Antique Capital RV Park presents a mixed picture. The positive review highlights affordability, cleanliness, friendly staff, and recreational amenities. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about pet and child policies, rule enforcement, and management practices. Potential guests, especially those with children or pets, should inquire specifically about the park's rules and regulations in these areas. It would also be prudent to clarify the payment procedures and ensure clear communication regarding any policies that could impact their stay. While the park offers some attractive features, the potential for strict or inconsistently applied rules and the serious allegations in the negative review warrant careful consideration and further inquiry before making a decision to stay at Antique Capital RV Park.

Antique Capital RV Park Reviews
Nice place to stay! Rates are affordable, clean bathrooms that were freshly remodeled. Staff is friendly. Pool was nice for the kids and had a pond for fishing!
May 03, 2025 · Ryan ShepherdThis place is a great place BUT….if you have kids or dogs that bark, it might not be the place for you. They also pick and choose who can follow what rules. We lived here for 7 months…was told that our dogs bark too much and that we were also not allowed to leave our dogs in our fence unattended. Meanwhile, everyone else’s dogs do the same and my dogs were never barking at crazy hours. Then we purchased our son a little toy electric 4wheeler…after he had been riding it for a little bit, someone new in the park got a real 4wheeler and rode it through the park which isn’t allowed and then the manager came over to us and said if he has to tell someone else, he has to tell us. But we argued because it’s a little electric toy 4wheeler…no different than the golf carts that are allowed!! A couple weeks later, i got an email saying they wanted us to vacate. KNOWING MY HUSBAND JUST LEFT TO GO BACK TO THE RIG. They knew our situation and knew i didn’t have anyone to move me and my husband was gone and they had the audacity to send that email and then didn’t even have the decency to give us 2 weeks for my husband to come home. Then after all that, they took money out of our bank without our permission. They have never just charged our credit card…they shouldn’t have even had a card on file. we’ve always paid them cash and they just took that money without authorization. It was great until it wasn’t.

Mar 11, 2025 · Robert HavlinVery nice RV park. Long, Short and overnight sites your choice. Clean and individual bathrooms, and laundry room with commercial washers and dryer’s. Fishing pond that is catch and release only. There is also a pool and an activity room in the park, office and grounds staff very friendly and helpful.
