Big Oak RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Tallapoosa, Georgia area? Big Oak RV Park, situated at 1179 GA-100, Tallapoosa, GA 30176, USA, offers a glimpse into a community-oriented RV park with a mix of positive and cautionary feedback from its visitors. By examining these reviews, we can provide a detailed introduction to the park's environment, services, and features to assist local users in their decision-making process.
One of the consistently highlighted aspects of Big Oak RV Park is its peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. A reviewer described it as a "good place, quiet and friendly," noting that it primarily hosts long-term residents. This suggests a stable and potentially close-knit community within the park, which could be appealing to those seeking a longer-term stay or a sense of belonging during their travels. The quiet environment can be a significant draw for visitors looking for a peaceful retreat.
The ownership and management of Big Oak RV Park have also received mixed feedback. The reviewer specifically mentioned that "the elderly lady who owns it is nice." This positive comment suggests a friendly and approachable owner, which can contribute to a pleasant experience for guests. However, the same review raised a significant concern, stating that "the grandson is untrustworthy." This serious allegation should be noted by potential visitors, although further details are not provided. It underscores the importance of exercising caution and perhaps seeking direct interaction with the owner for any important transactions or concerns.
A critical limitation of Big Oak RV Park, explicitly mentioned in a review, is the absence of showers. The reviewer clearly stated, "NO SHOWERS!" This lack of a fundamental amenity could be a significant drawback for many RV travelers who rely on campground facilities for personal hygiene, especially during longer stays or warmer weather. Potential visitors need to be aware of this and plan accordingly, perhaps utilizing their RV's onboard shower if equipped or seeking alternative options outside the park.
Another facility available at Big Oak RV Park is a laundry room, although it is described as "small." While the presence of laundry facilities is a convenience for travelers, the limited size might mean potential wait times or fewer machines available, especially during peak usage periods. Guests who anticipate needing to do laundry should factor this into their plans.
For pet owners, Big Oak RV Park has a specific policy regarding dogs. The review states that "Dogs (1 per site) allowed but MUST BE ON A LEASH." This indicates that the park is pet-friendly to a certain extent, allowing one dog per RV site. However, strict adherence to leash rules is mandatory, likely to ensure the safety and comfort of all residents and visitors. Pet owners should be prepared to comply with this rule throughout their stay.
In terms of accessibility, another reviewer offered a positive note for those making a brief stopover, stating, "Easy in, easy out! Perfect for us over night. Close to the highway, but not noisy." This suggests that the park is conveniently located for travelers passing through the area and offers easy access to and from the sites, particularly beneficial for overnight stays. The proximity to the highway is also mentioned, but the reviewer assures that it is "not noisy," which is a significant advantage as highway adjacent locations can sometimes suffer from excessive traffic sounds.
Considering the available feedback, Big Oak RV Park presents a somewhat contrasting picture. On one hand, it offers a "quiet and friendly" environment with a seemingly nice owner and convenient highway access for overnight stays. It also allows pets (with restrictions) and has a laundry facility, albeit small. On the other hand, the complete absence of showers is a major limitation, and a serious allegation of untrustworthiness concerning the owner's grandson has been raised. These factors need to be carefully weighed by potential visitors based on their individual needs and priorities.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Tallapoosa, GA, Big Oak RV Park might appeal to those prioritizing a quiet atmosphere and a sense of community with long-term residents, especially for extended stays where they have alternative showering arrangements. The easy highway access is a plus for short overnight stops. However, the lack of showers is a significant drawback, and the reported issue with the grandson's trustworthiness warrants caution. Pet owners with one dog who are diligent about leash rules will find the park accommodating in that regard.
Given the mixed reviews and the critical absence of showers, it is highly recommended that potential visitors contact Big Oak RV Park directly using the provided phone numbers, (770) 574-5522 or +1 770-574-5522, to inquire about the current situation, clarify any concerns, and confirm whether the park meets their essential requirements. Asking specific questions about the management and the availability of amenities is crucial before making a reservation. While the park offers a seemingly pleasant and quiet environment, the lack of showers is a non-negotiable factor for many RV travelers, and the reported issue with the grandson requires careful consideration.
In conclusion, Big Oak RV Park in Tallapoosa, GA, offers a quiet and friendly environment, primarily catering to long-term residents, with easy highway access. It is pet-friendly (one leashed dog per site) and has a small laundry room. However, the complete lack of showers is a significant limitation, and a serious concern has been raised about the trustworthiness of the owner's grandson. Potential local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider these factors and contact the park directly for more information before making a decision.

Good place, quiet and friendly with mostly long term residents. The elderly lady who owns it is nice but the grandson is untrustworthy. NO SHOWERS! Small laundry room. Dogs (1 per site) allowed but MUST BE ON A LEASH.
Jun 20, 2024 · SHIRLEY STEMENEasy in, easy out! Perfect for us over night. Close to the highway, but not noisy.
Aug 19, 2017 · LaudiVery tight for a 39 ft Class A with toad. Lots of full time. Our space was very close to highway. Traffic noise at night. CG is very clean with beautiful landscaping. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. CG is easily accessed and very close to I 22. Very inexpensive and good for an overnight.
Jul 01, 2020 · Randall DavisFirst of all, incredibly priced ! It’s so well kept. We have a 36 class A . I’m very afraid to ride any tight spaces. Honestly if we are not on a four lane road , I’m afraid! Lol. My husband didn’t have any issues driving thru the park. Others have claimed they did. He did not, and said it was very easy and he loved the park and our spot. It’s a small park with a lot of full timers. I was surprised of how nice the little parked looked. I would live here! It’s clean and quiet . I believe the owner keeps it like that. She is a good to the core Christian lady who was amazingly sweet to us. The park is right off the highway! Because of price , cleanliness, owner, and how well kept the little park is. I give it a 10!
Mar 20, 2021 · Cindy Crawfordstay here all week, go home on weekends. 3 years now. Owner looks after the place very well. she is great to call you if there is a problem. Very quite, lot of contractors stay here because of the location to I-20. Never have had a problem with anybody. Don't come to stay if you want to throw a loud party, not going to fly here. Really great place for adults that like quite.
