Calusa Cove RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Fort Myers area of Southwest Florida that offer a serene escape with convenient access to nature and local attractions? Calusa Cove RV Park, located at 19421 Santa Elena Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33908, USA, presents a unique opportunity for RV travelers seeking a tranquil and nature-focused experience. You can reach them at (239) 590-9990 or +1 239-590-9990 for inquiries and bookings.
Calusa Cove RV Park distinguishes itself as a "very quiet lovely place," according to satisfied guests who have appreciated its peaceful atmosphere. Unlike some larger, amenity-filled RV resorts, Calusa Cove emphasizes a more natural and less crowded environment. It's important to note, as clearly stated on their website and reiterated by reviewers, that Calusa Cove does not offer a bathhouse or other traditional amenities such as a pool. However, for RVers who are self-contained and prioritize full hookups in a prime South Florida location, Calusa Cove is considered an excellent value.
One of the standout features of Calusa Cove is its exceptional location, providing easy access to a variety of natural and cultural attractions. It is conveniently situated within a 40-minute drive to the vast wilderness of Big Cypress National Preserve, offering opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and exploring the unique Everglades ecosystem. History enthusiasts will appreciate the park's proximity, just 30 minutes away, to the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, a fascinating glimpse into the lives of two of America's most influential figures. Additionally, the "surprising gem" of Koreshan State Park is a mere minutes away, offering historical insights, beautiful natural landscapes along the Estero River, and opportunities for kayaking and hiking.
For those who truly appreciate open space and immersion in nature, Calusa Cove appears to be a dream destination. One reviewer from Bozeman, Montana, accustomed to wide-open landscapes, described their stay as an "epic vacation" and an "amazing Oasis." They highlighted the joy of having open space to walk around at night with their family, taking in the beauty and sounds of nature without the intrusion of crowds. This emphasis on space and tranquility is a recurring theme in the positive feedback.
Adding to the unique charm of Calusa Cove is the presence of local wildlife, including a "5 ft alligator in the pond that bothers no one." This exemplifies the natural environment of the park, where guests can experience Florida's fauna in its habitat. The park's location also boasts "National Park access right behind our RV," a spectacular feature that allows for immediate immersion in protected natural areas. Guests are encouraged to "check out google maps for the National Forest access road and bring your bikes or E-bikes!" suggesting opportunities for exploration and recreation directly from the park.
The owners of Calusa Cove are commended for keeping the property "very clean and safe." This attention to cleanliness and security contributes to a comfortable and worry-free stay for guests. The friendly and respectful demeanor of everyone encountered further enhances the positive experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Despite being "smack dab in the city," Calusa Cove offers spectacular nighttime views due to the lack of significant light pollution. This allows guests to truly appreciate the night sky, a contrast to the often brightly lit urban environments. The overall experience is described as a "calm, beachy, outdoor experience," where the casual Florida lifestyle of "flip flops and a bikini" can be enjoyed throughout the day and night.
The trade-off for the lack of traditional amenities like a pool is explicitly stated: "NO multitude of people and crowds, just the delightful beauty of Florida." This makes Calusa Cove an ideal choice for RVers who prioritize peace, quiet, and a connection with nature over resort-style facilities. The focus is clearly on the natural surroundings and the space to enjoy them without the hustle and bustle of more populated RV parks.
In terms of services and features, Calusa Cove RV Park offers:
- Full RV hookups, including water, electricity, and sewer, which is a significant advantage in South Florida.
- Spacious RV sites that provide a sense of openness and privacy.
- A very quiet and peaceful environment, ideal for relaxation.
- Direct or very close access to natural areas, including a National Park and a pond with local wildlife.
- A clean and safe property, well-maintained by the owners.
- A location that provides convenient access to attractions like Big Cypress National Preserve, the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, and Koreshan State Park.
- Relatively dark skies at night, offering opportunities for stargazing.
Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. To learn about current rates, availability, or any special offers for longer stays, it is recommended to contact Calusa Cove RV Park directly via phone or their website (if available). Given the positive feedback, especially regarding the unique natural setting and full hookups, it is advisable to book in advance, particularly during peak seasons like Spring Break.
In conclusion, Calusa Cove RV Park in Fort Myers, Florida, offers a distinctive RV experience for those who value tranquility, nature, and full hookups over traditional resort amenities. Its prime location provides easy access to significant natural and cultural attractions, while the park itself offers a clean, safe, and spacious environment where guests can truly appreciate the beauty of South Florida away from the crowds. If you are seeking a peaceful "RV park near me" with a focus on the outdoors, Calusa Cove RV Park is definitely worth considering for your next Florida adventure.

Calusa Cove RV Park Reviews
What an awesome stay! Very quiet lovely place the only downside no bath house but we knew that booking here clearly states it on their website no amenities. But for full hookups in south Florida can’t beat Calusa Cove. Within 40 minutes to Big Cypress, 30 minutes to Ford/Edison winter homes and mere minutes from a surprising gem Koreshan Stare Park.
Jan 31, 2024 · Michele ZappaAn epic vacation! Just a dream! My husband and I were looking all over SW Florida for an RV site for Spring Break 2022. We were blessed to find this amazing Oasis. We are from Bozeman, Montana and really appreciate open space. We pulled into Calusa Cove, parked our RV and just wow! Glamping baby! The open space to walk around with my 2 teenage daughters at night; Being able to take in all the beauty and sounds of nature without a crowd of people; The 5 ft alligator in the pond that bothers no one; The National Park access right behind our RV was spectacular. The owners keep the property very clean and safe. Everyone was so nice and respectful. The views at night are spectacular because you don't get "all" the light pollution from the city (even though you are smack dab in the city). If you are looking for a calm, beachy, outdoor experience, where you are in flip flops and a bikini during all your Florida days and nights, this is the place! Please note, there are no amenities, like a pool, but what you get in exchange for the amenities is - NO multitude of people and crowds, just the delightful beauty of Florida.Check out google maps for the National Forest access road and bring your bikes or E-bikes!P.S. The best advice I received in Florida - There is always someone honking at you... lol
Mar 30, 2022 · Carine SantiagoQuiet, friendly and woodsy. The owners were great and very responsive when we were traveling a long distance. There are tons of resorts in the area but if you are looking for a dark quiet place to camp in fort Myers this is it. I almost don't want to leave a review in hopes that I can still book next year without it being all booked up.
Jan 25, 2024 · Jarrod FlemingNice place to launch Ft Myers explorations, there are a couple of HUGE RV parks nearby, but Calusa Cove is just 10-15 sites along a fence line outside a much larger RV resort. It looks like Calusa Cove was a much larger park before Hurricane Ian - there's no office, bathroom or any central structure. The sites are level, clean with easy access from the road - I would stay here again, but if I'm in Ft Myers again I will look for something a little closer to Ft Myers beach. For the price, this is a good deal as there are a ton of snowbirds down here this time of year We camped at Calusa Cove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Feb 26, 2024 · Randy GreenbergJust talked with a lady from calusa cove on the phone and rude doesn’t even come close to how I was treated. I am not allowed to use the words that I would like to to describe how she was. One of the things she said was she wouldn’t allow our beautiful, polished, restored Airstream on her property because it’s too old (1976). Wow.
