For inquiries, Cameron Prairie RV Park can be contacted at (337) 385-4474 or via mobile at +1 337-385-4474. Unlike many RV parks that receive positive reviews, the available feedback for Cameron Prairie RV Park is overwhelmingly negative, focusing on the management's handling of situations related to a major hurricane and their communication with displaced residents.
One review describes an experience during Hurricane Laura, where the renters had paid their rent in advance. They were reportedly told they would be among the first allowed to return after the storm. However, upon calling to inquire about returning after hearing the park was renting spaces, they were informed that there was no room for them and that they were not wanted there. This reviewer, part of a group who had paid rent three days prior to this communication, felt this was akin to "robbery." They also described the person they spoke with as "rude" and characterized their group as "good working" and "model renters," strongly advising others to "stay clear of this place," noting that the owners have another park as well.
Another review details a similar experience related to the mandatory evacuation called when Hurricane Laura was approaching. These renters had recently moved into the park and, despite being required to evacuate by authorities and implicitly by the RV park owners, their requests for a refund of any kind were allegedly refused. The reviewers state that the park owners ignored all forms of communication regarding the refund inquiry. They explicitly mentioned understanding the refusal of a refund if they had left voluntarily but emphasized that their departure was due to a mandatory evacuation. This reviewer also strongly recommends against staying at Cameron Prairie RV Park and suggests considering "Executive RV Park" instead.
The environment and amenities of Cameron Prairie RV Park are not detailed in these reviews, as the focus is entirely on the negative experiences with management during and after a natural disaster. Therefore, it is impossible to provide an objective description of the park's physical attributes, services, or typical features based solely on this feedback. However, the severity of the issues raised by these reviewers warrants significant consideration for anyone contemplating staying at this park.
When searching for "RV parks near me," especially in coastal regions prone to hurricanes, it is essential to consider the park's policies and the management's responsiveness in emergency situations. The reviews for Cameron Prairie RV Park paint a concerning picture in this regard, highlighting potential issues with communication, fairness regarding prepaid rent during mandatory evacuations, and overall customer service during a crisis.
Given the nature of the feedback, it is impossible to discuss any promotional information or positive features of Cameron Prairie RV Park based on the provided data. The strong negative experiences shared by former residents should serve as a critical point of caution for potential future guests.
To provide an objective overview based solely on the available reviews, Cameron Prairie RV Park has been the subject of significant negative feedback concerning its management's handling of situations related to Hurricane Laura. Renters who had paid in advance and were under mandatory evacuation orders reported being denied refunds and, in one instance, being told they were no longer welcome upon attempting to return. Communication regarding these issues was also reportedly ignored. These experiences have led to strong recommendations against staying at this park.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Cameron, LA, it is crucial to weigh this negative feedback heavily. While the park may offer standard RV amenities and a specific environment, the reported issues with management during a crisis and the subsequent communication are serious concerns. Prospective guests should consider these accounts and potentially seek alternative RV parks in the area, as suggested by one of the reviewers.
In conclusion, based on the available customer reviews, Cameron Prairie RV Park in Cameron, LA, has faced significant criticism regarding its management's handling of situations related to Hurricane Laura, including issues with refunds for prepaid rent during mandatory evacuations and poor communication with affected renters. These negative experiences should be a primary consideration for anyone looking for RV parks in this area. It is strongly recommended that prospective guests conduct thorough additional research and consider alternative options before making a decision to stay at Cameron Prairie RV Park.

Cameron Prairie RV Park Reviews
Rude person. We were there at the time of the storm. Rent paid in advance. Was told we’d get to be first to come back. I called because I heard they were renting. Was told there is no room for us now. Don’t want us there either. Most of our group had paid rent three days prior. I think this is robbery. There is no reason to be so rude, we are a good working group and model renters. Stay clear of this place. They have one more park.
Feb 09, 2021 · Diana RodriguezWhen hurricane laura was headed this way, we had just moved in. There was a mandatory evacuation called and they have refused to give us a refund of any kind even though the rv park owners made us leave, we weren't just voluntarily leaving. They ignore all forms of communication inquiring about it. I understand not giving a refund if we just left on our own free will but that was not the case....Would not recommend! Check out executive rv park instead.
Jan 29, 2021 · Kearstin KnottsFalse advertising. No laundry or mail services. Just pads with hook ups. Would’ve been nice to know before paying considering he makes you pay in full before you get here.
Nov 25, 2023 · Callie GibsonHad the opportunity to visit this park and speak to the owner. They were very accommodating and friendly. The park is super clean and well laid out with level pads. We look forward to visiting again next time we're in the area.
