Clackamette RV Park Introduce
Looking for exceptional "RV parks near me" that combine natural beauty with a variety of recreational opportunities? Consider Clackamette RV Park, situated at 1955 Clackamette Dr, Oregon City, OR 97045, USA. This park offers a unique setting along the river, providing a tranquil escape with a range of amenities that cater to different interests. Based on customer reviews, Clackamette RV Park presents a mixed experience, offering both appealing features and some notable drawbacks that potential visitors should be aware of.
One of the most frequently praised aspects of Clackamette RV Park is its picturesque environment. Described as a "beautiful Park" with "a lot to offer," the location allows visitors to enjoy the river directly. Activities such as feeding ducks and simply relaxing in the tranquility of the riverside setting are highlighted as major draws. The park encourages visitors to "Park facing river from your vehicle and enjoy the serenity of it," emphasizing the peaceful atmosphere and scenic views available right from your RV.
Beyond the natural beauty, Clackamette RV Park boasts a variety of amenities designed to enhance the visitor experience. For those seeking active recreation, the park offers "Horseshoes" and a "skateboard park" for skaters. Families and groups can take advantage of the "Plenty of picnic tables" spread throughout the park, along with a "large covered picnic area," providing ample space for outdoor meals and gatherings, regardless of the weather. Additionally, the park features "Paths for walking," allowing guests to stroll and further appreciate the surroundings.
For water enthusiasts, a significant feature of Clackamette RV Park is its "Boat launch with plenty of parking." This makes it an ideal location for those looking to access the river for boating, fishing, or other water-based activities. The convenience of launching your boat directly from the park and having ample parking for your vehicle and trailer is a considerable advantage.
Another significant positive aspect mentioned in the reviews is the affordability of the park, particularly for local users. The price is noted as "Nice & cheap ($30 for locals, $50 for anyone else)," making it an attractive option for those in the Oregon City area seeking an affordable RV getaway. This price difference between locals and others is a notable feature that could be a significant draw for residents of the surrounding communities.
However, alongside these appealing features, there are several cons that potential visitors should carefully consider. One of the most restrictive aspects is the park's closure policy. According to a reviewer, the "Park LITERALLY closes around 10pm/11pm" with the gate being locked. This strict curfew means that "any LATE arrivals, or late night errands are a no-go." This policy could be inconvenient for travelers with unpredictable schedules or those who prefer to arrive late in the evening.
Another significant concern raised is the "amount of transients" present in the park. One reviewer stated, "Never been to a place this nice where the homeless were this prominent!" This suggests a noticeable presence of individuals experiencing homelessness within the park, which could potentially impact the comfort and sense of security for some visitors. It's important to note that this is based on a single review, but it is a factor worth considering.
Finally, the hookup situation at Clackamette RV Park is somewhat limited. The park offers "Water & electricity hook-ups," but notably, there is "no sewage." For visitors planning a long-term stay, this means they will need to utilize the park's "RV dump station" to empty their holding tanks. While the reviewer mentions that dumping is "freely" available at the dump station, the inconvenience of having to regularly move their RV to the dump station for long-term stays is a factor to consider.
In summary, for local users searching for "RV parks near me," Clackamette RV Park offers a beautiful riverside setting with a variety of recreational amenities, including a boat launch, picnic areas, and a skate park, all at an affordable price of $30 for locals. The tranquility of the river and the opportunity to feed ducks add to its charm. However, potential visitors must be aware of the park's strict 10-11 pm closure with a locked gate, the reported significant presence of transients, and the lack of direct sewage hookups, requiring the use of a dump station for long-term stays.
To make an informed decision about Clackamette RV Park, local users should weigh the advantages of its scenic location, amenities, and affordability against the potential drawbacks of the park's policies and conditions. If you value a riverside experience and don't anticipate late arrivals or departures, and are prepared for the limited hookups and potential transient presence, Clackamette RV Park could be a suitable option, especially given its attractive local pricing.
For further information or to make reservations, you can contact Clackamette RV Park at (971) 204-4602 or +1 971-204-4602. It might also be beneficial to inquire about any specific policies regarding park access hours and security measures when you call.
In conclusion, Clackamette RV Park presents itself as a beautiful and budget-friendly riverside retreat in Oregon City, offering a range of recreational activities and scenic views. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should consider its unique offerings while also taking into account the reported limitations regarding park hours, the presence of transients, and the lack of sewage hookups for a comprehensive understanding of what this park entails.

Apr 01, 2025 · Deborah K. SparksBeautiful RV park! Nice & cheap ($30 for locals, $50 for anyone else).Three Cons:1- Park LITERALLY closes around 10pm/11pm (they close & lock the gate, so any LATE arrivals, or late night errands are a no-go)2- The amount of transients is CRAZY! Never been to a place this nice where the homeless were this prominent!3- Water & electricity hook-ups, no sewage, so if you have a long-term stay, you have to go dump (freely) at their RV dump station.
May 06, 2025 · Nyomi MohlsickLot is a gravel lot. No fires allowed. Right on the river for fishing. Power and water is only hookup. RV dump is available, but u must drive to it. Camp host is very nice and professional person. Police in the park at 2 AM due to domestic violence with resident trailer trash. No shots fired but someone went to jail. McDonald's is a short walk. NO HOMELESS people. Left our furniture and poles out all night 🌙 no problem. Would stay again. Have fun
