If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Scottsburg, Oregon area, you might come across the listing for CLOSED RV Park, formerly located at 180 Main St, Scottsburg, OR 97473, USA. While the name currently indicates that this RV park is closed, it is worthwhile to explore what made this location so appealing to previous visitors, based on their online reviews. Understanding the former environment, services, and features might be helpful if the property reopens under new management or if you are looking for similar experiences in the region. The former contact numbers were (541) 587-4351 and +1 541-587-4351.
A Former Amazing Property with Generous Hosts
One of the most striking aspects highlighted in the reviews of the former CLOSED RV Park was the exceptional hospitality of its hosts, Cheryl and Matt. Guests consistently described them as "incredibly generous and accommodating," "super friendly," and "absolutely respectful of their campers' privacy." This level of positive interaction with the hosts significantly contributed to the overall positive experience reported by visitors. The hosts' welcoming nature and respect for privacy created a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for those staying at the park.
Beautifully Maintained Riverfront Property
The location of the former CLOSED RV Park was another major draw, being situated directly on a riverfront property. Guests raved about the "beautifully maintained" nature of the land and the "peaceful and beautiful" views of the river and surrounding mountains. The scenic environment provided a tranquil backdrop for relaxation and outdoor activities. The cool afternoon breeze was particularly welcomed by travelers, offering respite after a long day. The proximity to the coast was also noted as a perfect aspect of the location, suggesting easy access to coastal attractions and activities.
Ultimate Privacy for Single Users or Small Groups
A unique feature of the former CLOSED RV Park was its rental policy, catering primarily to single users or small groups. This resulted in guests essentially having a "full service RV park all to yourself," offering the "ultimate in privacy." This exclusivity was highly valued by visitors seeking a secluded and peaceful retreat, unlike larger, more crowded RV parks. The emphasis on privacy made it an ideal destination for those wanting a more intimate connection with nature and their surroundings.
Thoughtful Amenities, Including Covered RV Spots
The former CLOSED RV Park also provided thoughtful amenities to enhance the comfort and convenience of its guests. One notable feature was a "metal covering" where RVs could be set up. This was particularly beneficial in preventing overheating, as one reviewer with a 31' 5th wheel noted that their RV fit perfectly under the cover, addressing a common concern for RVers, especially during warmer months. This demonstrates a considerate approach to guest comfort and the protection of their vehicles.
Access to Recreational Activities and Natural Features
Beyond the basic RV site amenities, the former CLOSED RV Park offered a variety of extras that contributed to a memorable stay. These included access to kayaks, allowing guests to enjoy the river directly. Access to a beach was also mentioned, providing further opportunities for recreation and relaxation along the riverbank. The presence of an apple tree added a charming natural element to the property. These additional features suggest that the former CLOSED RV Park was not just a place to park an RV but a destination offering opportunities for outdoor enjoyment and engagement with the natural environment.
Highly Recommended by Previous Guests
The overwhelmingly positive sentiment in the reviews, with guests stating they "will certainly return for more visits" and "can't recommend Cheryl or Matt high enough," speaks volumes about the quality of the experience offered at the former CLOSED RV Park. The combination of a stunning location, generous and accommodating hosts, the emphasis on privacy, and the availability of unique amenities created a highly satisfying experience for those who stayed there.
Implications of Being Currently Closed
While the past reviews paint a picture of an exceptional RV park, the current "CLOSED" status is the most critical piece of information for local users searching for immediate RV accommodations. The reasons for the closure are not provided in the available information. It could be due to a variety of factors, such as the owners' decision to retire, sale of the property, unforeseen circumstances, or temporary maintenance issues. Regardless of the reason, as of the current listing, the park is not operational.
Recommendations for Local Users
For local users actively seeking "RV parks near me" in Scottsburg, Oregon, the CLOSED RV Park is unfortunately not a viable option at this time. However, the overwhelmingly positive reviews suggest that the location and the hospitality offered were highly valued. If you are looking for similar experiences in the area, you might consider searching for other riverfront RV parks near Scottsburg or along the Umpqua River. Reading reviews for other local RV parks may help you find properties that offer scenic views, access to water activities, and friendly hosts.
It might also be worthwhile to occasionally check online listings or local resources to see if the CLOSED RV Park reopens under the same or new management in the future. Given the strong positive feedback, any future iteration of an RV park at this location would likely be of significant interest to RV travelers seeking a unique and private riverside experience.

An amazing property with incredibly generous and accommodating hosts!! Cheryl and Matt were both super friendly and absolutely respectful of their campers privacy and use of their beautifully maintained river front property!! The views of the river and surrounding mountains are both peaceful and beautiful- and the cool afternoon breeze was soooo welcome after a days travel on our search for a new house. The location, close to the coast, was perfect. We will certainly return for more visits!
Apr 29, 2022 · Robert BiscardiWow, what a place, right on the river. They only rent to single users or small groups so you basically get a full service RV park all to yourself so it's the ultimate in privacy. The have a metal covering where you can set up your RV (fit our 31' 5th wheel fit to a "T") so overheating was not an issue. They had lots of extras (kayaks, access to the beach, etc.) available as well so not only is it beautiful, there are tons of things to do. They even have an apple tree. Can't recommend Cheryl or Matt high enough.
Oct 01, 2024 · c kWow !!!! Is it possible to give more than five stars???? We had the pleasure of staying here for a week back in September. Totally LOVE this RV Park. One of a kind! Sleep right next to the Umpqua River. Matt and Cheryl are kind and very easy to work with. The park is well maintained, and you can't ask for better river access and fishing. They also have a ton of great amenities. We will definitely be back!
