Colden Lakes Resort Introduce
Are you searching for exceptional "rv parks near me" that provide a memorable camping experience for you and your family? Look no further than Colden Lakes Resort, nestled in the scenic town of Colden, New York. Located at 9504 Heath Rd, Colden, NY 14033, USA, Colden Lakes Resort offers a welcoming environment with a range of amenities and activities, making it an ideal destination for both short getaways and seasonal campers.
The environment surrounding Colden Lakes Resort is characterized by the natural beauty of Western New York. Situated near lakes and surrounded by foliage, particularly vibrant in the fall, the resort provides a picturesque setting for outdoor enthusiasts. The presence of lakes suggests opportunities for water-based activities, enhancing the overall camping experience. The positive reviews highlight the beauty of the lakes and the fall foliage, indicating a tranquil and visually appealing natural environment for relaxation and recreation.
Based on feedback from actual visitors, Colden Lakes Resort offers a variety of appealing services and features. One reviewer who visited in October had a thoroughly positive experience, noting the spaciousness and levelness of their site (number 25), which made parking easy. The inclusion of a picnic table and a well-positioned fire ring added to the convenience and enjoyment of the campsite. These basic amenities are crucial for a comfortable RV camping experience.
For families, Colden Lakes Resort appears to be particularly well-suited. The playground is highlighted as "great" and a source of enjoyment for children. Additionally, the resort seems to organize engaging activities, as evidenced by the "Halloween activities" that "exceeded expectations." The trunk or treat event with abundant candy, fun crafts, and free face painting demonstrates a commitment to creating a memorable experience for young campers. The presence of a "huge pavilion with lots of seating right outside the pool" suggests a communal space for gatherings and events, further enhancing the social aspect of the resort.
While the pool was closed for the season during the October visit, its presence indicates a seasonal amenity that would be a significant draw during warmer months. The pavilion adjacent to the pool offers a comfortable space for relaxation and socializing. The observation of many people fishing suggests that the lakes are a popular spot for anglers, providing another recreational option for guests.
One of the reviewers, a seasonal camper of three years, expressed initial apprehension about new ownership but was overwhelmingly positive about the new management team. They describe the new management as "friendly, honest and hardworking individuals" who are positively impacting the campground. The reviewer noted improvements such as well-maintained grounds and an increase in activities for both children and adults, which were previously perceived as lacking. This positive feedback from a long-term seasonal camper speaks volumes about the quality of service and the direction of Colden Lakes Resort under its new management.
The mention of kayak rentals as something the October visitor would like to do on a future visit indicates that the resort likely offers or facilitates access to water sports activities on the lakes. This adds another dimension to the recreational opportunities available to guests.

Colden Lakes Resort Reviews
We visited in October and we really have no complaints! Our site was number 25, we loved all the space we had. It was easy to back in and the sites are level. The picnic table was nice and great fire ring far enough away from the camper. The playground is great and the kids really enjoyed that. The Halloween activities exceeded our expectations. Kids got tons of candy at the trunk or treat and lots of fun activities and crafts. Also free face paint which goes a long way for a 3 and 6 year old. The pool looked nice but was of course closed for the season. Huge pavilion with lots of seating right outside the pool. Saw lots of people fishing which isn’t our thing but looked fun! The lakes and fall foliage were very pretty. Next time we’d love to do a kayak rental.
Oct 13, 2024 · Elise VanderwalkerI have been a seasonal camper for 3 years at Colden Lakes. I was admittedly nervous when I heard it was sold, but my family and so many seasonal campers enjoy the new management team and the way the campground is being run. They are friendly, honest and hardworking individuals. The grounds look great, there are so many activities for kids (which was lacking in my opinion) and adults too. I hear it will be even better next year, which is very exciting.I am truly happy here as a seasonal. Thank you to Stephanie, Michael, Kate, Chris & Pam.Proud to be part of your camping family!
Sep 22, 2024 · Lm jWe spent a week here. Beautiful place. Only issue was the pull through site(8) we had was not wide enough. The length was perfect. Thank God we liked our neighbors. They were actually sitting under our slide while enjoying their bonfire. That's the only area we did not like. It's our understanding it is new management and they may be working on ways to fix that issue. Pool looked great. Grounds were clean and well taken care of. The lakes were beautiful. Staff was helpful.
Sep 04, 2024 · Joy KlempkeHorrible experience. I’m in the military and stationed on the other side of the country, I flew in special for this trip. My dad (also a veteran) booked a specific spot so that his camper would fit comfortably and we could all enjoy the space, we did accidentally come one day early and payed to dry camp for the night and had absolutely no problem with that. Once we got there they verbalized the change in policy and told us that he was not allowed to pick where we parked, even though on the website you can. They then tried to squeeze us in a small spot where we couldn’t even extend our camper fully. They were extremely rude and condescending and would not work with us at all. Me and my little sister walked up to one of the woman that work in the front office and politely waited for her to be done helping another customer, to simply ask where the bathrooms were and before we could even get a word out she barked at us to go into the front office. It was just an extremely aggressive way to speak to a camper when you don’t even know what they needed. Once we got home, since we could not stay, my dad checked the confirmation email and on there it stated that we would have the spot that he reserved. When he called to work things out they told us that they did not care for our future business and they would be perfectly fine with us leaving any kind a review. All around just a bunch of entitled a-holes. Would not recommend anyone stay here and I hope they go out of business soon. On another note, the food we ordered from their restaurant was undercooked and the chips were extremely stale and basically inedible, any future customers should bring $60 worth of chicken nuggets since that would basically be the same thing.
Jun 29, 2024 · Tori WoodworthExcellent customer service. Could not be nicer people!! Beautiful, quiet setting. Very family friendly. We loved the ice cream shop!! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the bathhouses and laundry facility could use some updating. We loved our stay there and would definitely go back!! Centrally located, as well.
