Colfax Mobile Home Park Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Gary, Indiana area? While Colfax Mobile Home Park, located at 6060 W 36th Ave, Gary, IN 46408, USA, is a mobile home park and not specifically an RV park, it's important for local users seeking housing options in the Gary region to be aware of the various residential communities available. This introduction aims to provide a detailed overview of what Colfax Mobile Home Park might offer, drawing inferences based on its nature as a mobile home park and the customer reviews available online. Please note that specific details about all services, amenities, and current promotional information require direct inquiry.
Mobile home parks like Colfax typically offer a community-based living arrangement where residents own or rent their manufactured homes but lease the land on which they are situated. This model can sometimes provide a more affordable housing solution compared to traditional site-built homes, which might be a consideration for individuals and families seeking cost-effective living in the Gary area. The available customer reviews offer a glimpse into the park's history and ongoing efforts to improve the community.
One review provides a nostalgic perspective, with a former resident recalling living in the park as a child approximately 37 years ago and expressing surprise that it is still in operation. They even noted the continued presence of an "old trailer" in the same spot. This longevity suggests that Colfax Mobile Home Park is an established community within the Gary area.
More recent feedback comes directly from what appears to be park management or someone closely associated with it. This comment outlines ongoing efforts to improve the park, specifically mentioning the repaving of the road and the replacement of ten older homes with new ones within the last year. These actions indicate a commitment to upgrading the infrastructure and housing stock within the community, aiming to "make it a better place to raise a family." This suggests a positive direction for the park's environment and the quality of life for its residents.
The same commenter also states that the park has "helped many people with repairs on their homes," indicating a willingness to support residents in maintaining their properties. However, they also address negative feedback by mentioning that some individuals who have posted negative comments "refuse to follow the rules," citing examples such as speeding through the park, having four unlicensed dogs, and allowing pets to run loose. This suggests that while the management is actively working to improve the park, they also face challenges with some residents adhering to community rules and regulations.
In terms of services typically offered by mobile home parks, Colfax likely provides essential infrastructure such as connections for water, sewer, and electricity to each lot. Residents are generally responsible for their individual utility consumption, while the park management oversees the central distribution systems within the community. Waste management services are also commonly provided. The mention of road repaving suggests an ongoing investment in the park's infrastructure.
The statement about helping residents with home repairs indicates a level of support beyond basic infrastructure, which could be a significant benefit for residents. Prospective residents should inquire about the extent and nature of this assistance.
Features of Colfax Mobile Home Park can be inferred from the reviews. The presence of families and the management's stated goal of making it a better place to raise a family suggest that the park is likely family-oriented. The fact that older trailers and new homes coexist indicates a mix of housing options, potentially with varying rental or ownership costs. The mention of rules regarding pets and speeding suggests that the park has established community guidelines to ensure safety and order.
The ongoing improvements, such as road repaving and the addition of new homes, can be considered positive features that enhance the overall environment and quality of life within the park. The willingness to assist with home repairs is another potential benefit for residents.
Promotional information for Colfax Mobile Home Park is not explicitly provided in the reviews. To learn about current lot availability, rental or purchase options for homes (both new and pre-existing), any special offers or incentives for new residents, and the terms of the lease or purchase agreements, interested individuals should contact the park directly at (219) 513-9642 or +1 219-513-9642.
In conclusion, Colfax Mobile Home Park in Gary, Indiana, appears to be a long-established community that is currently undergoing significant efforts to improve its infrastructure and housing. The management seems committed to making it a better place for families and is willing to assist residents with home repairs. However, they also face challenges with enforcing community rules among all residents. For local users seeking "RV parks near me" who might also consider a mobile home community, Colfax warrants further investigation, particularly for those interested in a community that is actively working to improve. Contacting the park management directly is essential to obtain current and comprehensive information about lot availability, housing options, rental or purchase costs, specific amenities, community rules, and the timeline for ongoing improvements. A visit to the property might also be beneficial to assess the progress of the upgrades and the overall environment firsthand before making a decision.

Colfax Mobile Home Park Reviews
Wow memory lane. I lived here when I was around 6 years old. I'm 43 now. I can't believe its still there. Old trailer is still in the same spot. I will have to drive by one day when I come visit family.
Apr 23, 2024 · Thomas WaddellWe are trying to improve the the park by repaving the road.We also tore down 10 homes and replaced them with new homes in the last year. Trying to make it a better place to raise a family. We have helped many people with repairs on their homes. But some people who have posted negative comments refuse to follow the rules, like speeding through the park, having four unlicensed dogs, letting their animals run loose.
Feb 17, 2019 · Joe PottsLook it comes down to who lives there. I have a friend that lives there I like to visit but there are alot of drugs that go through that park. Glad my friend doesn't have kids living in the park. Most residents are very nice but a few are .... well .... you get the idea
Nov 24, 2017 · De Mac 316My Brother and his friend lived here a few months ago, the place is a dump, but from what I was told, the management doesn't check your credit or ask for real proof of income so if you got the cash, you basically got the trailer. Somewhere to stay while you get your finances in order I'd say.
Apr 14, 2017 · KayrokkThis place is the utmost nasty, useless mobile home. Not only do they have cockroaches and bed bugs spread from trailer to trailer, but most these homes haves no water, the manager Ed pikes to give free rent for sex, and they have been seen smoking crack, but they got a yard filled with useless junk cars but had the aducity to tow my grandma's car. 😂 Plus, half these trailers are being illegally rented out. Mine is owner by someone else, and they rented it to me until I own it. Now I can't get the title. I'll be taking them for court for that and getting ahold of the courts, the IRS, and anyone else I can involve. DonvD move to this court. It's down right unliveable. 💯🖕 -tammy Too
