My sister and I lived at Country Aire and it seems like a nice place until, the people in the office kept sending a mentally retarded man to mow your yard without your permission or even after you had already mowed it, he destroyed our potted plants and our lawn furniture while we were at work, and there was no one ever available in the office to talk to about him and we had to call the Austin / Travis county police to get him off our yard. As for crime.. when my sister bought a new electric lawn mower it was stolen right off our front porch we went in the trailer house for about 15 minutes and whomever took it cut the chain and lock we secured it with and what coincident right after (An hour later exactly) that it happened the mentally retarded man showed up to mow our yard, he said he was told to come mow our yard cause we had our mower stolen. It was all very strange. When my sister's mobile home that she bought brand new from Country Aire turned 2 yrs old they told her she had to move her trailer or purchase a newer model apparently they were "getting rid of the old trailers" to beautify the trailer park. We weren't the only ones that were sent an eviction notice because our mobile homes were "Dated or Older than 2 yrs"It was nice in the beginning the pool was clean and was open, but after while everything changed for the worst, the office personnel / owner / staff were rude and unable to any and all concerns to the point that you had to involve the Travis county inspectors/ City of Austin. My sister and I lived in Country Aire from 1995 to 1998.. and when our father passed away in November of 1997 and we had to leave to the Rio Grande Valley South Texas for our father's funeral, our 3 pet kittens (we kept them in the mobile home-they are indoor kittens) were cut up and mutilated in our trailer, our friend that was watching them in our trailer called us to let us know what happened. She said that when she got home from work the front door had been kicked open and the lock & door on had been removed. She called the police cause who ever did it also left a threatening note taped on the inside of front door that was on Country Aire personalized stationary. THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW..IT WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR US AND MY SISTER HAD HER TRAILER MOVED TO SOME LAND SHE PURCHASED AND I MOVED CLOSER TO MY JOB. - melissa partain

Country Aire Mobile Home Park Introduce

For individuals seeking "RV parks near me" or exploring mobile home living options in Austin, Texas, Country Aire Mobile Home Park, located at 8220 State Hwy 71, Austin, TX 78735, presents a community with a history reflected in past resident experiences and recent indications of positive changes. To gain a comprehensive understanding, it's essential to consider both historical accounts and more current observations.

Based on online reviews, past experiences at Country Aire Mobile Home Park, particularly from residents who lived there between 1995 and 1998, paint a concerning picture. These accounts detail significant issues that potential residents should be aware of. One lengthy review describes a series of unsettling incidents involving unauthorized yard maintenance by an individual described as "mentally retarded," alleging property damage to potted plants and lawn furniture. The reviewer also recounts a theft of a new electric lawnmower from their porch, followed by a peculiar and immediate arrival of the same individual to mow the lawn, suggesting a potentially suspicious connection. Attempts to address these concerns with the office were reportedly unsuccessful, leading to the involvement of the Austin/Travis County police.

Furthermore, the same review alleges an unusual policy regarding the age of mobile homes, stating that residents with trailers older than two years were issued eviction notices under the premise of "beautifying the trailer park." This suggests a potentially unstable long-term living situation for those purchasing new homes within the community, as they might face pressure to upgrade or relocate within a short timeframe. The reviewer also mentions a decline in community amenities, noting that while the pool was initially clean and open, the overall situation worsened over time, with office personnel described as rude and unhelpful, necessitating the involvement of Travis County inspectors and the City of Austin to address concerns.

The most disturbing part of this historical account details a horrific incident involving the residents' three indoor kittens, who were found mutilated in their mobile home after the front door was allegedly kicked open while the residents were away for their father's funeral. A threatening note, reportedly on Country Aire personalized stationery, was found inside. This tragic event led to the residents' immediate departure from the park.

It is crucial to acknowledge that these are historical accounts from over two decades ago. Community management and conditions can change significantly over such a period. A more recent, albeit brief, review offers a contrasting perspective, stating, "Definitely looking better. What a great job the new landscaping company is doing keep up the good work PMJ." This suggests that recent efforts, at least in terms of landscaping, have been positively received and that the visual environment of the park may be improving.

The primary function of Country Aire Mobile Home Park appears to be providing long-term housing through the leasing of lots for manufactured homes. For local users seeking a potentially more affordable housing option in Austin, mobile home communities can be an alternative to traditional real estate. The location on State Highway 71 West places it within a reasonable distance of various Austin amenities, although being on a major highway might also present noise considerations. Prospective residents should assess the proximity to their workplaces, schools, shopping centers, and other frequently visited locations.

Features of living in a mobile home park typically include the cost-effectiveness of owning a home while leasing the land, potential for community interaction, and the responsibility of maintaining the individual home and yard (unless otherwise specified by park management). The historical review raises concerns about management responsiveness and certain community policies. However, the recent positive feedback on landscaping suggests a potential improvement in the park's upkeep and possibly a more proactive approach from current management. It is vital for prospective residents to verify the current state of management practices and community rules directly with the park administration.
