Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin Introduce
For those in search of exceptional “RV parks near me” in the Austin, Texas area, Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin, located at 12405 River Bend, Austin, TX 78732, USA, presents a unique lakeside experience. Situated directly on the shores of Lake Austin, this RV park offers a blend of natural beauty, convenient amenities, and responsive management, according to one reviewer. However, another visitor reported a concerning safety incident, providing a contrasting perspective that potential local users should consider.
The environment at Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin is clearly a major draw. One guest described it as a "beautiful spot" and highlighted the tranquility of the park, noting it to be "quiet & well kept." The direct access to Lake Austin is a significant feature, with the park offering two distinct river entrance options. "The Beach" is characterized by a crushed granite entrance and shallow waters suitable for both humans and pets, as one reviewer mentioned their Labrador enjoying it. "The Dock Bay" provides a more private setting with Adirondack chairs and shallow water safe for standing but potentially too deep for smaller dogs. The opportunity to enjoy morning coffee and evening cocktails while watching boats and skiers go by from these river access points adds to the park's appeal. Furthermore, the option to bring personal kayaks or rent them on-site allows guests to explore the scenic opposite side of the river, noted for its shady and peaceful atmosphere, which was a favorite activity for one visitor.
In terms of services and features, Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin appears to prioritize the comfort and convenience of its guests. The reviewer who had a positive experience mentioned that each of the five RV sites was "clean and spacious in between." This suggests a well-maintained park with ample room for maneuvering and enjoying your individual space. The presence of "large concrete pads at each site, with a table for 8 and 2 lounge chairs" is a significant plus, providing comfortable outdoor living spaces for dining and relaxation. The owners are also described as "very responsive and friendly," indicating a commitment to good customer service and addressing guest needs promptly. While specific details about hookups (electricity, water, sewer) are not explicitly mentioned, the fact that guests were able to stay comfortably suggests these essential services are available at each of the five sites.
However, the second review paints a concerning picture of a safety incident involving the park's maintenance. The guest recounts an experience where a man on a riding mower came "WAY too close" to them and their two small dogs while they were sitting on the grass near their RV. The reviewer stated that the mower came within a foot of them, causing grass to fly up and terrifying their dogs, one of whom was old and had difficulty walking. The situation escalated when the mower operator allegedly turned around and approached them twice more. The reviewer expressed confusion about the mower's proximity and the lack of verbal communication from the operator. This incident raises serious questions about safety protocols and the consideration shown to guests and their pets within the park. It is important for potential visitors to be aware of this reported incident, as it contrasts sharply with the positive feedback regarding the park's beauty and the owners' responsiveness.
The proximity of Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin to "some great restaurants" is another notable feature, offering guests convenient dining options if they wish to take a night off from cooking. This adds to the overall convenience and appeal of the location, providing a balance between the tranquility of the lakeside setting and easy access to local amenities.
Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in either of the provided reviews. Therefore, local users interested in potential discounts for longer stays, seasonal offers, or any other special packages will need to contact Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin directly at (512) 694-0094 or +1 512-694-0094 to inquire about current rates and any available promotions.
In summary, Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin offers a unique setting on the shores of Lake Austin with beautiful views and direct lake access, including areas suitable for pets and private spots for relaxation. The park is described as quiet and well-kept, with spacious and clean RV sites featuring concrete pads and outdoor furniture. The owners are reported to be responsive and friendly. Guests can enjoy activities like kayaking and have convenient access to nearby restaurants. However, a significant safety concern was raised by one reviewer regarding the operation of a riding mower in close proximity to guests and their pets, which potential visitors should be aware of.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" on Lake Austin, Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin presents a location with a lot to offer in terms of natural beauty and amenities. However, the reported safety incident is a serious consideration that warrants further inquiry or caution. It would be prudent for prospective guests to contact the owners directly to discuss any safety measures in place and to seek assurances regarding the well-being of visitors and their pets. Despite the positive aspects highlighted in one review, the negative experience shared by another cannot be ignored and should factor into the decision-making process for those considering a stay at Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin.

Riverbend RV Park / Lake Austin Reviews
Quiet & well kept RV Park. The owners are very responsive and friendly!! Each of the 5 RV sites were clean and spacious in between. The large concrete pads at each site, with a table for 8 and 2 lounge chairs, were a plus. Loved having two river entrance options. 'The Beach,' which has a crushed granite entrance & shallow enough for our Labrador to stand. 'The Dock Bay,' which was a small private spot, with Adirondack chairs, is shallow enough for a human to stand, but too deep for our Labrador to stand. We truly enjoyed coffee in the mornings & cocktails in the evening out there watching the boats with skiiers go by. We brought our own kayaks, but you can also rent them easily there. Kayaking on the opposite side of the river, where it was shady & peaceful, was one of our favorite things to do. If you want a night off from cooking, the park is close to some great restaurants as well. Enjoy!!
Aug 27, 2023 · Kar FraThis is a beautiful spot but I had a bad experience here. Around noon my first day I decided to eat lunch outside with the dogs. The shade was behind my RV so I put my chair there, within a foot of the back of the RV. It was on the grass. A man on a riding mower came out of nowhere and came WAY too close to me and my two small dogs - like the grass flew up on us and my dogs were terrified - the mower came within a foot of us. One of the dogs is very old and can hardly walk. I jumped up and grabbed my dogs as best I could, and the man turned around and came at us with his mower twice more! Did he want us to stay off the grass? Did he want us to move because suddenly he had to mow the strip right behind my RV? Why didn’t he use his words if he wanted something from us?
Apr 20, 2025 · Bonnie DavenportThis is a very small RV park on lake Austin ( 7 Transient/short stay sites) at the bottom of Steiner Ranch. It is immaculate. Full hookups, some restrooms at the small marine across a lovely green. Lots are level. I will willingly come again. Great for boaters
Mar 30, 2024 · Susan IraniPerfect little spot on the lake with a nice view of the hills and the water. Beautiful, large, clean, grassy sites and nice trees. Very clean, each site has full hookups with both 50 & 30amp connections. Nice and level parking too. 10/10!
Oct 27, 2022 · Jacob OnstadSo beautiful here! I fully understand why they don't have monthly rentals, no one would want to leave 😁 Colorado River in my backyard, nothing beats that!
