Crooked Creek RV Park Introduce
Welcome to Crooked Creek RV Park, situated at 777 Arvee Ln in West Union, South Carolina. For those searching within the 'RV Parks Near Me' category, particularly those interested in accessing Lake Keowee and surrounding recreational opportunities, Crooked Creek RV Park offers a range of amenities and features for RV travelers. You can reach them at (864) 882-5040 or their mobile number +1 864-882-5040 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on customer reviews, Crooked Creek RV Park offers nicely sized pull-through RV sites, accommodating various sizes of recreational vehicles. The layout of the campground features two main sections: approximately half of the sites are located on a gentle slope leading down to the other half, which is situated on level ground. This tiered arrangement might offer some sites slightly different perspectives or ease of access depending on the RV type and personal preference. However, a significant environmental factor noted by a reviewer is the near absence of shade trees throughout the campground. This lack of tree cover results in a more utilitarian feel rather than a cozy, wooded atmosphere and can lead to hotter conditions during the summer months. Potential visitors should be prepared for sunny conditions and plan accordingly.
One notable feature of Crooked Creek RV Park is its proximity to Lake Keowee and the availability of boat-related facilities. The park offers "nice boat slips," including both covered and uncovered options, available at what is described as a reasonable price. This makes it an attractive location for RVers who enjoy boating, fishing, or other water activities on Lake Keowee. While the RV sites themselves are not directly "on the water," the lake access and communal waterfront area provide opportunities for enjoying the lake. Additionally, a convenient boat fueling station is located below the small store within the park, offering easy access for boat owners.
Several comments in the reviews address the staff at Crooked Creek RV Park. One reviewer explicitly states they have "never had an issue" with the staff and perceives them as direct and informative regarding park rules. This suggests that while the staff may be straightforward in their communication, they are also effective in ensuring that guests are aware of and adhere to the park's regulations. This can contribute to a well-ordered and predictable environment within the campground.
The bathhouses at Crooked Creek RV Park are highlighted as being "quite nice and roomy" and offering "great water pressure." Clean and well-maintained restroom and shower facilities are often a crucial factor for RV travelers, and this positive feedback suggests that Crooked Creek provides a comfortable experience in this regard. The presence of a small store by the lake is also a convenient amenity, offering basic supplies and snacks for campers and boaters.
For recreational activities within the park itself, Crooked Creek RV Park features a well-kept pool and a basketball court, providing options for exercise and leisure. Adjacent to these facilities is a small playground, making it a potentially suitable option for families with young children. The presence of these on-site amenities can enhance the overall camping experience, offering activities beyond lake access.
However, not all aspects of Crooked Creek RV Park receive positive feedback. One reviewer describes the RV pads as "very old gravel" that are "all overgrown with weeds and grass." This suggests that while the pull-through sites are adequately sized, the condition of the ground surface and landscaping at individual sites may be lacking in upkeep. The same reviewer also notes that there are "very few trees," reinforcing the earlier observation about the lack of shade. Additionally, concerns are raised about the general appearance of some of the RVs within the park, suggesting a potential lack of uniformity or maintenance by some long-term residents or visitors.
Further criticisms include the condition of the office, which is described as "untidy" with obstructed visibility over the counter due to paperwork and boxes. This could potentially impact the initial impression and the efficiency of interactions with park management. The reviewer also mentions that recently cut "grass" was not bagged, leading to dead grass being tracked into their RV. This detail, while seemingly minor, points to a potential lack of attention to detail in groundskeeping.
The location of Crooked Creek RV Park on Lake Keowee is acknowledged as having "lots of potential." Lake Keowee is known for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities in the Upstate region of South Carolina. However, one reviewer expresses concern that the owners may be "over their heads" in terms of their ability to maintain the grounds to a satisfactory standard. This suggests a potential disconnect between the desirable location and the actual upkeep of the RV park facilities.
Considering the platform category 'RV Parks Near Me,' Crooked Creek RV Park offers a lakeside location with boat slips, which is a significant draw for water enthusiasts. The presence of pull-through sites, bathhouses with good water pressure, a store, pool, basketball court, and playground provides a range of amenities for RV travelers. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported lack of shade, the condition of the gravel RV pads and landscaping, and the concerns raised about overall grounds maintenance and the tidiness of the office. While one reviewer found the staff to be direct but fair, the overall impression from the reviews suggests that while the location and some facilities are appealing, the upkeep of the grounds may not meet all expectations.
For those specifically seeking a base for enjoying Lake Keowee with convenient boat access, Crooked Creek RV Park is worth considering. The reasonable price for boat slips and the presence of a fueling station are definite advantages. However, RVers who prioritize shade, well-maintained individual sites, and meticulous groundskeeping may want to weigh these factors against the park's amenities and location. It is advisable to contact Crooked Creek RV Park directly to inquire about any recent improvements or changes in management practices that might address the concerns raised in the reviews. Additionally, if possible, a visit to the park might provide a more current and personal assessment of the facilities and overall environment.

Crooked Creek RV Park Reviews
This campground has nicely sized pull-throughs, with about half on a gentle slope that leads to the lower half, where the area is level. There are zero shade trees, so the feel is more utilitarian than cozy and hot in the summer. High-voltage power lines are adjacent to one side near the boat ramp. No sites sit "on the water" as that area is more of a communal one. They do have nice boat slips, both covered and uncovered for a reasonable price. I see a lot of comments on the staff. I've never had an issue. I think they are just direct, and don't hesitate to inform you of the rules. The bathhouses are quite nice and roomy with great water pressure, and there is a small store by the lake with supplies and snacks. The pool and basketball court are well kept, and there is a small playground beside it. There is also a boat fueling station below the store with easy access.
Jun 16, 2024 · RandyNo rooms. However, the RV pads are very old gravel. All overgrown with weeds and grass. Very few trees. Many of the RV are not well kept. The office is untidy, and one can barely see over the counter with all the old paperwork and boxes in the way. "Grass" was recently cut but not bagged and we tracked dead grass into our the rest of the week.Lots of potential with location on Lake Keowee. However, it's obvious the owners are over their heads with the ability to keep the grounds up to par.No pictures so as not to have the Metadata tracked.
Oct 06, 2024 · Andy ParsonsBeautiful location next to the lake. Have stayed there multiple times.
Nov 14, 2024 · carol cookSpots are all pull through and good size. Full hook up. Spots are pretty level, and gravel. They have finally started replacing some of the older picnic tables. Cable and internet are hit or miss. Great location on the lake. Boat ramp is a little steep, but in good shape and wide. Has a small store where you can get Hunts Brother pizza, ice cream, drinks, and a few odds and ends. Pay at the pump gas for boats. Pool is usually open once the weather gets warmer and they even have a kiddie pool There is no way to reserve online, and sometimes it's hard to get someone on the phone, especially in the off season. Stayed there for several years now and really enjoy when we go.
May 22, 2021 · Teri GoolsbyI have been using this rv park for dumping my black tank as I am at a friends house in the area. So we are not staying here, but I can say this park has a nice pool and they have a large boat launch on a beautiful lake. The sights for rvs are open and easy pull through and full hookups. Water is good and high psi. So don't forget that water psi regulator.
