Downstream Casino RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" with a unique twist, Downstream Casino RV Park, located just across the Oklahoma-Missouri border in Joplin, MO 64804, USA, offers an intriguing option. Situated conveniently off I-44, this RV parking area provides more than just a place to park your rig. It's adjacent to the Downstream Casino Resort, offering a blend of natural beauty, convenient amenities, and casino entertainment. However, it's essential for potential visitors to be aware of certain seasonal limitations, as noted by recent guests.
One reviewer described the location as a "beautiful RV parking lot with trees and gorgeous landscaping," indicating an aesthetically pleasing environment. The presence of trees suggests potential shade, enhancing the comfort of your stay. Adding to the unique charm of the property is the presence of buffaloes, offering a memorable and unexpected wildlife viewing opportunity right on the grounds. This distinctive feature sets Downstream Casino RV Park apart from more traditional RV parks.
Convenience is another key aspect of this location. It is situated next to a "beautiful new story truckstop," which serves as the registration point for the RV park. This adjacency offers easy access to truck stop amenities, although it also contributes to a notable level of "noise from the trucks on the highway." Despite the presence of "plenty of trees," one guest found the highway noise somewhat bothersome, something to consider for light sleepers.
In terms of basic RV amenities, the park offers "all spots have water and electric," which are essential for a comfortable RV stay. Additionally, a "dumping station" is available for the proper disposal of wastewater. These fundamental hookups make it suitable for overnight stays or longer visits, depending on your needs and the time of year.
A significant feature of Downstream Casino RV Park is its direct connection to the Downstream Casino Resort via a "bus shuttle." This complimentary service allows RV guests to easily access the casino's numerous amenities, including its "gorgeous" casino floor, dining options like the buffet, and recreational facilities such as "two pools and spa." This seamless integration with a full-service resort provides a unique blend of outdoor living and entertainment options not typically found at standard RV parks.
One reviewer aptly described the experience as "a very very fancy harvest host," highlighting the blend of a scenic parking area with the added perks of a nearby resort. The pricing structure is also noteworthy. The standard rate mentioned was "$33 a night." However, there's a significant incentive to join the casino's players club, which is free. By signing up, guests can receive "two nights free," making it an exceptionally affordable option for those interested in the casino's offerings.
Furthermore, the resort shows appreciation for military personnel and first responders by offering a "25% off meals at the buffet," a thoughtful discount that adds value to the stay for eligible individuals.
However, a critical piece of information that potential visitors must be aware of is the seasonal availability of water. Multiple reviewers explicitly stated that "water isn’t on in March" and that there was "NO WATER available until April 1st." This lack of water was a significant issue for one full-time RVer, as it was "not stated online, not mentioned when we called to inquire, not pointed out when we checked in and paid," and "not posted in the RV parking area." This lack of transparency led to considerable inconvenience, as there were no on-site facilities for showering or filling holding tanks during this period.
While the reviewer acknowledged flexibility, they expressed disappointment with the lack of communication regarding the water situation. This is a crucial factor for anyone planning a stay during the late winter or early spring months. It is imperative to contact the RV park directly to confirm the availability of water and other amenities during your intended travel dates.
Another reviewer succinctly described the RV area as "a parking lot. It's a nice parking lot, though," emphasizing the functional nature of the space. The sites are noted as "wide, about 45' long and well marked," providing ample space for maneuvering and parking even larger RVs. The location was also deemed "a great location for us as we travel north on I-44," highlighting its convenience for those passing through the area.
One final point to note from a reviewer was that spots are "FCFS (first-come, first-served)." While they were initially told there would be "plenty of space," their subsequent experience suggests that availability might vary. It's advisable to inquire about the typical occupancy levels, especially during peak seasons, even though reservations might not be possible.
In summary, Downstream Casino RV Park offers a unique experience for those seeking "RV parks near me" due to its beautiful landscaping, the presence of buffalo, its adjacency to a full-service casino resort with shuttle service, and the potential for free stays by joining the players club. The availability of water and electric hookups and a dumping station cater to basic RV needs. However, potential visitors must be aware of the seasonal water shut-off, typically occurring in March and potentially extending until April 1st, and the highway noise. It is strongly recommended to contact the RV park directly at (918) 919-6000 or +1 918-919-6000 to confirm the availability of all essential amenities, especially water, during your planned stay and to inquire about any current promotions or specific site information.

Downstream Casino RV Park Reviews
Note: water isn’t on in March. It’s a beautiful RV parking lot with trees and gorgeous landscaping. Staff is amazing. There is one of the most beautiful and I mean beautiful new story truckstops right next to me which is also where you go to register for your spot. All spots have water and electric. There is a dumping station there is a lot of noise from the trucks on the highway we can’t figure out why because there’s plenty of trees. There’s buffaloes on the property. And then there’s a bus shuttle that will take you over to the casino if you want to eat at the buffet or take a vantage of all the amenities there. Casino is gorgeous. It has two pools and spa. I would describe this as a very very fancy harvest host It’s $33 a night, unless you sign up for a players card which is free. Then your two nights are free. They give a 25% off meals at the buffet for military and first responders. Which I deeply appreciated.
Mar 17, 2022 · Stephanie ChinIt's a parking lot. It's a nice parking lot, though. The spaces are wide, about 45' long and well marked. This was a great location for us as we travel north on I-44.Spots are FCFS, but we were told there was "plenty of space, so there would be no problem getting a spot". Now we know why! See below) .It turns out there is NO WATER available until April 1st.The fact that there is no water was:> not stated online,> not mentioned when we called to inquire,> not pointed out when we checked in and paid.> not posted in the RV parking area.So after I realized no water was coming out, I called to see if there was something I was doing wrong. THAT'S when I was told that there is no water until April 1st.As a full-time RVer, I have learned to be flexible. So I didn't flip out."Is there a place where we can shower?" (No)"Is there a place where we can fill our holding tank?" (No)Had this been explained, we could have gone to a truck stop and filled our holding tank before detaching our 5th wheel. I'm kinda bummed by the experience. We are only staying 1 night, thank God.:-/
Mar 21, 2025 · Gayle Google JonesEasy access off I-44, simple check in at the nicely stocked C-store near the entrance. Sites are full hook up but water is shut off as of November 1. Everything is paved, fairly level some better than others. $35, which is better than some casino parks.
Jan 04, 2025 · H EThis is a nice park. Cement slabs, water and 50 amp. Only downside was a lot of the sites aren't level. We arrived in the dark so didn't check them out too well. When we go back we will try to get there before dark. There is a dump station.Best part is if you get a players club card at the Casino, your first night is free. Extra nights are 35.00Once you have your players card you check in at the Q store. Convenience store adjacent to the park.Only con is not near anyplace to eat except the Casino.Near I-44 so some highway noise but not bad overall a nice place for an overnight. We will return.
Oct 22, 2024 · Barbara HyleLarge concrete parking lot and it was not easy to get level. Plenty of grass for dogs to potty and was able to walk all around the park. Not many sites were used. Water was shut off but not an issue and was expecting it. Good for one night.
