Fox Bluff Cottages & RV Introduce
Looking for exceptional "RV parks near me" that combine a welcoming atmosphere with natural beauty? Consider Fox Bluff Cottages & RV, situated at 8045 Van Emmon Rd, Oswego, IL 60560, USA. This location offers a unique blend of RV camping sites and cabin rentals, catering to a variety of needs for those exploring "RV parks near me" for both short and extended stays.
One enthusiastic reviewer described Fox Bluff Cottages & RV as a "fantastic quiet, but fun RV campground." This sentiment highlights a potentially peaceful yet engaging environment, a desirable combination for many seeking "RV parks near me" for relaxation and recreation. The availability of a "great" pool and hot tub adds to the leisure aspect, providing opportunities for unwinding and enjoying the outdoors.
The natural surroundings appear to be a significant draw, with mentions of "the nicest little stream right behind our spot" and "lots of places to choose from on Fox River and a couple ponds." For nature lovers and those who appreciate scenic beauty, Fox Bluff Cottages & RV could be an appealing choice among "RV parks near me," offering opportunities for waterside relaxation and enjoyment.
The strong sense of community at Fox Bluff Cottages & RV is also noteworthy. The reviewer mentioned a large number of seasonal campers who fostered a welcoming atmosphere by hosting events like a Labor Day pig roast for the entire campground. This "great community feeling" can be a significant advantage for those seeking a more social and connected experience compared to a purely transient "RV park near me."
However, it's crucial to consider a balanced perspective. Another review provided a more mixed assessment, giving an overall rating of 3.5, with the RV sites rated at 3 and the cabin at 4. This suggests variability in the quality and experience depending on the accommodation type chosen at this "RV park near me."
Regarding the RV sites, this reviewer pointed out that "RV sites and roads are gravel" and "neither are in great shape." This information is essential for RV owners concerned about the condition of the grounds and the ease of maneuvering their vehicles. The presence of "last years fall leaves and many branches from the trees" on their site indicates a potential lack of thorough site maintenance, which is a factor to consider when evaluating "RV parks near me."
While the reviewer appreciated the abundance of trees, providing shade and a natural ambiance, they noted "odd" placement of utilities, with water far from the sewer and the sewer far from electricity. This inconvenient layout could pose challenges for setting up and managing RV connections. The incident where a neighboring RV had to rely on the reviewer's water connection due to utility placement issues, leading to reduced water pressure, is a significant concern regarding the infrastructure and potential impact on the guest experience at this "RV park near me." The reviewer also echoed the sentiment about a significant number of seasonal renters and the apparent lack of enforced standards.
In contrast, the cabin rental received a more positive review, described as "clean, well appointed and decorated" with "nice and very comfortable" furnishings. The provision of basic kitchen needs and the inclusion of a fire pit and Muskoka chairs were appreciated amenities. However, even the cabin experience had drawbacks, including initial sulfur smell in the water (which was resolved) and high pricing ($250) considering the need to bring personal linens and toiletries. This pricing information is relevant for those comparing cabin rental options within "RV parks near me."
While the reviewer did not utilize all the amenities, they noted a "game room that looks nice," a "pool that looks nice but was closed for the season," and a "nice kids playground." These facilities suggest that Fox Bluff Cottages & RV aims to cater to a range of interests, including families looking for "RV parks near me" with recreational options. The absence of a visible laundry room might be a consideration for longer stays.
The reviewer also mentioned the impression that the park is "working on upgrading the place," suggesting potential future improvements that could enhance the overall experience for those considering this "RV park near me." The consistently positive feedback regarding the staff ("All of the staff we encountered were very nice") is a significant asset, as friendly and helpful staff can greatly contribute to a positive stay, regardless of other potential shortcomings.
For individuals specifically searching for "RV parks near me" in the Oswego, Illinois area, Fox Bluff Cottages & RV offers a location with access to the scenic Fox River and a community-oriented atmosphere. The availability of both RV sites and cabin rentals provides flexibility for different types of travelers. However, potential RV visitors should be aware of the reported issues with gravel roads and sites, utility placement, and potential maintenance concerns. Cabin renters should consider the pricing and the need to bring their own linens and toiletries.
To make an informed decision when considering Fox Bluff Cottages & RV as one of your "RV parks near me," it is recommended to contact them directly at (630) 553-6323 or +1 630-553-6323 to inquire about current site conditions, utility configurations, amenity availability (especially the pool's operating season), and any ongoing upgrades. Speaking with the staff directly can provide the most up-to-date information and help you determine if Fox Bluff Cottages & RV meets your specific needs and preferences for an "RV park near me." The combination of a potentially strong community, scenic location, and friendly staff makes it a contender, but addressing the infrastructure and maintenance concerns will be key to enhancing the overall guest experience.

Fox Bluff Cottages & RV Reviews
Fantastic quiet, but fun RV campground. The pool and hot tub are great! We had the nicest little stream right behind our spot. There are lots of places to choose from on Fox River and a couple ponds. They have a lot of seasonal campers and those folks hosted a pig roast for the entire campground for Labor Day. The community feeling here is great. We will be back every year!
Sep 04, 2024 · S SeneseRented a cabin and an RV site. Overall a 3.5 rating (RV site 3 and cabin 4)RV sites and roads are gravel. Neither are in great shape. Our site was fully covered in last years fall leaves and many branches from the trees. There are a lot of trees, which is nice. The utilities worked but the placement on the sites is odd. Water far from sewer and sewer far from electricity. When a neighbor came to the site next to us, they had to use a water y connector and connect to our sites water or they would have no water. That killed our water pressure for our last 2 days of our stay. There are a significant number of “seasonal” renters and it’s obvious that there are no standards enforced. The cabin was clean, well appointed and decorated. The furnishings were all nice and very comfortable. Basic kitchen needs were provided - plates, utensils, toaster etc. It was equipped with a fire pit and 4 Muskoka chairs outside - very nice. Water pressure was an issue and when we first arrived, the water smelled like Sulfer. It was rectified by draining the water heater several times. While the cabin was nice, it was high in price ($250) considering that you have to provide all your own linens and toiletries.Did not use any amenities but there is a game room that looks nice, a pool that looks nice but was closed for the season, and a nice kids playground. Did not see the laundry room.I think they are working on upgrading the place and with more work, it could be a great campground. All of the staff we encountered were very nice.
Sep 25, 2024 · Sandy RFor the record, I've seen the owners of this establishment attempt to disparage the poor reviews, but my wife and I are professionals, in our 40's, have a new, well maintained travel trailer and Toyota Tundra. We keep our trailer and grounds very clean and are quiet neighbors. We left after two weeks, cutting my business project short so we could leave early.I reserved a place here for a month back in March of this year, after reading the reviews and considering they might have been another case of bad perspective. I read about trash not cleaned up, hazardous objects in the grounds, and constant noise from construction work. (Not to mention construction vehicles blazing through the roads far faster than 5mph) After staying there less than two weeks, my wife and I couldn't take it any more and left. The reviews are right. When staying there, we felt it to be a dingy and poorly managed. The entrance has a small unstaffed building where you must call the number from the paper pasted on the door. After that you get in by a license plate scanner (which is nice). The woods have scrap wood everywhere. Trash, unfinished lots, and in the back of the complex there are two buildings left partially built. In my own site, the pvc pipe from the old electrical mast was left cut off at 3" from the dirt. Had I or my wife stepped on it we'd have been injured. They advertise that they're a place for children and families, but no one can run freely in the grass without possibly stepping on something sharp. They don't accept packages. When asked about it, I was abruptly (and very pompously) informed by one of the owners how much experience they had in campsite management, followed by his long barrage of reasons why he was right- followed by him ending the call abruptly after. The gist I get is they're looking for a more passive investment, rather than a "resort" that needs a staff. There's an RV storage portion of the park with travel trailers lined up, right next to the dumpsters, right next to the pond. You really just feel like you're in a piece of land that was once a decent place to camp, possibly in the 90's, and now it's just an attempt at a passive investment. It is not a resort. Resorts have staff, and they're attentive to the needs of their patrons. Aside from the debris found In my site during my arrival, or the three washers/dryers for over 1000 sites, of all of the other items mentioned here- I just think this place deserves better owners- or- they need to increase their staff and take care of it. I truly don't think many of the projects they're working on are safe in the current condition they're in- not for children or dogs at least. Not to mention the trash throughout the place. I'll never stay there again. I've been all over the country and in other countries as well, and this was among the bottom 3 in rank.
Apr 28, 2024 · Joshua SanbornOnly an Hour from Chicago burbs it was a great surprise to find such a nice spot. The RV resort is being "rejuvenated" from the previous condition of an old campground. We were happy to see all the amenities that were put in to make it a fun place for families with kids. Pool, large hot tub, billards, ping pong, bags, park, pickleball courts, basketball exc. The kids loved the proximity to all the fun stuff. They had a DJ pool side Saturday and a Taco truck which was super cool and unique! More utility removal is needed to clean up the old grounds but the resort is moving in the right direction and it's visitors will be impressed for years to come. We will definitely be back!
Jun 09, 2024 · jessica scannellRV’ERS BEWARE!!! Our stay was supposed to be 22 July to 7 August 2023. First things first, I called and reserved a spot a month prior to getting to the CG. We got to the CG and there was no one in the office to help us. I contacted someone by the phone number on the door. Cassie was the camp host that was escorting someone to their site. Once we registered she gave us our site which was 102. I told her that I had a reservation for site 604. She told me that the owner had just given away my reservation to a "seasonal camper" last week and they were putting us in a spot that was much nicer and by the water. After a lot 0of hubbub we finally agreed to the site by the water (102). The are working on the "Resort" so the roads are not very friendly for a big rig at all! There are no one ways signs so the roads can be used both ways and there IS NOT enough room for two vehicles to pass. When you are approaching someone head on they give you a dirty look because you didn't stop pulling your rig to let them by! We finally made it to our site (102) and as I was backing into the site the rig sank in the gravel that was not compacted at all. So I had to goose it a little and the tires on my truck started spinning. I got the rig in finally then I got out to look at the connections. The electrical box was all the way in the back behind our rig and the sewer hookup was all the way in the front!!!!! I would have to have 40 ft of hose just to connect ONE of our two drain hoses. I had enough and finally decided that we were not going to stay here at all. They are charging you Resort pricing for a dumpy area that is not ready for a resort price. It does have the potential to be a nice place but they have a long way to go before I would ever think of staying here again especially after having our reservation being given to someone else by the owners! Not Cool!
