One long-term guest who stayed for five months described Ernest as "a nice person to deal with," highlighting a pleasant and easygoing management style. This personal touch can significantly enhance the overall experience at an RV park, fostering a welcoming and supportive community atmosphere.
The practical aspects of the park also receive positive feedback. The reviewer noted having "plenty of room to park," which is an important consideration for RVers with larger rigs or those towing additional vehicles. The lots are described as being made of "recycled asphalt," which is appreciated for providing a stable and clean parking surface, eliminating the common issue of dealing with mud, particularly during wet weather. This attention to the ground conditions contributes to a more comfortable and hassle-free stay.
While the park may not be overflowing with traditional amenities, Gone Bananas RV Park offers some unique features that add value to the guest experience. The owner, Ernest, has a "big Man cave" that includes a pool table, dart board, and entertainment, providing a communal space for recreation and socializing. Additionally, extra grills are available for guests to use, which is a thoughtful amenity for those who enjoy outdoor cooking. These features create opportunities for leisure and interaction among the park's residents.
One of the most significant advantages of Gone Bananas RV Park, as highlighted by a long-term guest, is its affordability. The price to stay is reported to "beat every park in the area," and notably, the rates are "all bills paid," simplifying budgeting and eliminating the hassle of managing separate utility costs. This all-inclusive pricing model can be a major draw for budget-conscious RVers seeking long-term value.
For those who may not own an RV but are interested in experiencing the RV lifestyle in the area, Gone Bananas RV Park offers a convenient solution. The owner has "a few extra rvs that he rents out," providing an opportunity to try out RV living or to accommodate visiting friends and family without requiring them to bring their own unit.
The park's location on TX-80 is described as "Conveniently located," offering easy access to the surrounding areas. It is situated approximately 10 miles from Gillett and 15 miles from Karnes City, providing access to local amenities and services in these towns. Kennedy is also located within a 30-minute drive.
Connectivity is another feature offered at Gone Bananas RV Park, as "The park has Wifi too." In today's connected world, reliable internet access is often a necessity for travelers and long-term residents alike, making this a valuable amenity.
Pet owners will be pleased to know that "dogs are allowed" at Gone Bananas RV Park. The park even has "a big field they can run in," providing ample space for furry companions to exercise and play safely. This pet-friendly policy is a significant benefit for RVers who travel with their animals and seek a welcoming environment for them.
Another reviewer echoed the positive sentiment, stating they "loved the scenic experience" and that the "customer service was outstanding." They also mentioned a "fun time for my whole family" and expressed a desire to return, indicating that Gone Bananas RV Park can be a pleasant destination for families as well. While the somewhat unrelated comment about tamales in Japan is likely a personal anecdote and not directly indicative of the park's offerings, the overall positive feedback regarding scenery and customer service reinforces the park's appeal.

Gone Bananas RV Park Reviews
We stayed in the park for 5 months and enjoyed our stay. The owner Ernest is a nice person to deal with. We had no problems what so ever with anyone. We had plenty of room to park. The lot is recycled asphalt and nice to park on. No mud to deal with. There isn't a lot of amenities but Ernest has a big Man cave that has a pool table, dart board, and entertainment. He even has extra grills for people to use. The price to stay beats every park in the area and it's all bills paid. He even has a few extra rvs that he rents out in case you don't have an RV. Conveniently located on TX 80. 10 miles from Gillett and 15 miles from Karnes City Tx. The park has Wifi too. And the best thing is dogs are allowed. He has a big field they can run in. This is definitely a great place to stay. San Antonio is an hour away. Victoria is an hour and 15 min away. Kennedy is 30 minutes away. Very peaceful out here.
