Happy Hideaway rv resort Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the southeastern Alabama region, particularly near Ashford, Happy Hideaway RV Resort, located at 960 Eudon Best Rd, presents an appealing option for RV travelers and those seeking cabin rentals. Ashford is a small town in Houston County, offering a more rural and tranquil setting. Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, Happy Hideaway RV Resort is praised for its welcoming owners, well-maintained facilities, and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment.
One of the standout features of Happy Hideaway RV Resort, according to multiple reviews, is the exceptional management. Guests consistently describe the owners as "great people" who are "fair, honest," and proactive in maintaining a positive atmosphere by not tolerating "Unsavory Characters or activity." This dedication to ensuring a safe and respectful environment can provide peace of mind for all visitors. The owners are also noted for being "easy to reach and Approachable," indicating a high level of guest service and responsiveness to any needs or concerns.
The resort itself is described as "well maintained," suggesting that the grounds and facilities are kept in good condition, contributing to a pleasant camping experience. While still undergoing improvements, Happy Hideaway already offers essential amenities such as on-site restrooms, laundry facilities, and showers, catering to the basic needs of RV and tent campers. The availability of both 30 and 50 amp RV sites ensures compatibility for a wide range of recreational vehicles. For those who may need it, the resort also offers RV storage at a "good rate" when space permits, which can be a valuable service for long-term travelers or local residents.
Looking towards the near future, Happy Hideaway RV Resort has exciting developments underway. A clubhouse with games and billiards is expected to be available soon, promising additional recreational opportunities for guests to socialize and enjoy their leisure time. Perhaps most notably for connectivity-conscious travelers, the Wi-Fi service is set for a significant upgrade. While currently available as wireless and noted to be "a bit slow," fiber optic internet is slated for installation and availability by June of 2025. This upgrade will provide much faster and more reliable internet access for guests, addressing a common concern among RVers in today's connected world.
Safety and security are clearly priorities at Happy Hideaway RV Resort. The park is equipped with on-site cameras that record 24/7, and these are reported to "actually work well," providing an added layer of security. Furthermore, the park is "well lit at night," enhancing visibility and contributing to a safer environment for evening strolls or late arrivals.
While the location of Happy Hideaway is described as "very rural," it offers a balance of tranquility and accessibility. The town of Ashford, though small, reportedly has "about every necessity." For more extensive shopping and services, the larger city of Dothan is conveniently located just 12 to 14 miles away, making it easily reachable for day trips or errands.
The resort also emphasizes outdoor enjoyment. Guests can take advantage of ample outdoor seating areas, including a fire pit surrounded by four porch swings, creating a cozy and communal gathering space. There is also a small pond with seating and fans, offering a relaxing spot to unwind. For nature enthusiasts, a short wooded trail is currently under construction, promising a pleasant opportunity for a leisurely walk.
The RV sites themselves are described as "big," offering more space between campers than often found in other RV parks. This spaciousness can enhance privacy and comfort. The sites are "fairly level" and consist of grass or sandy surfaces with "well drained soil," which is beneficial for managing rainwater and maintaining site integrity.
Pet owners will appreciate that Happy Hideaway RV Resort is "pet friendly for well behaved leashed pets." The policy requires pets to be kept indoors and not left unattended outdoors. Notably, the owners were accommodating to one guest who put up a "short portable fence" for their small dog and cat, indicating a reasonable and considerate approach to pet owners.
In summary, Happy Hideaway RV Resort near Ashford, Alabama, appears to be a highly regarded and continually improving destination for RVers and cabin renters alike. The positive reviews consistently highlight the excellent owners, well-maintained facilities, and a commitment to safety and guest comfort. With spacious RV sites, cozy cabin rentals, upcoming fiber Wi-Fi, and a range of outdoor amenities, Happy Hideaway offers a peaceful and enjoyable retreat in a rural yet conveniently located setting. Happy Hideaway rv resort Reviews
My Wife and I love this campground. The owners are great people who are fair, honest, and don't put up with Unsavory Characters or activity. The park is well maintained. The Owers are easy to reach and Approachable. The park is still being improved, but offers rental Cabins, on site restrooms, laundry, and showers. There are 30 and 50 amp RV sites as well as tent sites available. They do offer storage for RVs at a good rate if space is available. There will be a clubhouse with games, billiards, available soon. The electric service is upgraded and works as it should. The same can be said for all the systems in the park. The Cabins are more tiny home like as they are modern inside and not rustic. They are furnished and each have their own restroom and shower.Wifi is available. Its a bit slow due to it being wireless, but by June of 2025 fiber should be installed and available. They have on site cameras that record 24-7. They actually work well. The park is well lit at night. The location is very rural, but, close to Ashford and the Farley Plant. Town has about every necessity. Dothan is 12 to 14 miles away. They have a lot of outdoor seating area. There's a fire pit with 4 porch swings, then an area with a small pond with seating and fans. There's a short wooded trail currently under construction. The spots are fairly level. They are grass / sandy spots, but on well drained soil. They are pet friendly for well behaved leashed pets. They must be kept indoors and are not to be unattended outdoors. They were fine with us putting up a short portable fence for our small dog and cat.The rv sites are big. This is the largest area between campers I have seen in a long time. We have a Class C and personal vehicles. (Full size pickups ) Parking in not an issue at all.I would give them 10 stars if it were an option.
Apr 28, 2025 · William GNice, quiet campground with laundry facility and ice machine. Close to Farley Nuclear Plant if you're in the area for work. Only reason I'm not giving a 5 star review is a lack of wifi for campground guests. It's 2021 now and other campgrounds in the area offer wifi, so there's no reason they shouldn't offer the same here
Feb 23, 2021 · Dan LamersGreat little property...quiet...out of the way. Tracey is a super "landlord" who is more of a friend as long as you obey park rules...very accommodating!
Jun 29, 2022 · Bruce KennedyThis place is in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet and peaceful.
