The area offers a mix of residential and commercial developments, with access to local amenities, schools, and recreational opportunities. The environment in this part of North Carolina is characterized by a humid subtropical climate, with warm summers and mild winters. The proximity to the coast means residents can enjoy nearby beaches, waterways, and related outdoor activities.
It's important to note that specific details about the immediate environment within Hill's Mobile Homes & Apartments, such as landscaping, green spaces, and the overall upkeep of the community, are crucial factors for potential residents. One online review mentions that the "owner does not keep the place up very well." This feedback suggests that prospective residents should carefully assess the current condition of the community and its common areas to determine if it meets their expectations for a living environment.
Services and Amenities: Considerations for Residents
Mobile home parks and apartment communities typically offer a range of services and amenities for their residents. These can include:
- Basic utilities (water, sewer, trash removal)

- On-site management
However, based on the available review, there are potential concerns regarding the level of maintenance and management responsiveness at Hill's Mobile Homes & Apartments. This includes claims of neglect in maintaining the property and questionable interactions with the management.

Features and Potential Concerns: A Critical Look at Reviews
The provided customer review raises several serious concerns that potential residents should carefully consider. These points include:
- Alleged Lack of Upkeep: The statement "Owner does not keep the place up very well" suggests potential issues with the physical condition and maintenance of the property.
- Lease Termination Concerns: The reviewer describes being asked to leave shortly after the passing of their father, citing alleged issues with law enforcement visits, despite no arrests occurring. This raises questions about lease stability and management practices.
- Safety Concerns: The reviewer mentions a neighbor who was a convicted sexual predator, alleging that the owner was aware of this individual's history before renting to them. This is a significant safety concern for any residential community.
- Alleged Interference and Pressure: The reviewer describes being pressured by the alleged owner to reverse an affidavit related to a legal matter involving a business associate of the owner. This raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest and undue influence.

These are serious allegations from a former resident and should be carefully considered by anyone thinking of living at Hill's Mobile Homes & Apartments. Verify any claims made by the management regarding amenities, services, and the living environment through independent means. This includes:
- Visiting the property in person to assess its condition.
- Speaking with current residents to get their honest opinions.
- Reviewing any other available online reviews or ratings from multiple sources.
- Thoroughly reviewing the lease agreement and understanding all terms and conditions.
Do not rely solely on information provided by the management without conducting your own due diligence.
Connecting with "RV Parks Near Me": Understanding the Platform Category
The platform category "RV Parks Near Me" typically helps users find temporary or short-term accommodation for recreational vehicles. While Hill's Mobile Homes & Apartments appears to be a long-term residential community offering mobile home lots and apartments, individuals using "RV Parks Near Me" might encounter it if the platform also lists long-term mobile home parks as a housing option. It is important for users of such platforms to carefully distinguish between short-term RV parks catering to travelers and long-term mobile home communities.
If you are specifically looking for short-term RV parking in the Havelock area, you would likely search for facilities that offer amenities tailored to RV travelers, such as individual hookups (electricity, water, sewer), dump stations, and potentially recreational facilities. Your needs and expectations will differ significantly depending on whether you are looking for a temporary RV site or a long-term place to live.

Hill's Mobile Homes & Apartments Reviews
Owner does not keep the place up very well
May 01, 2025 · Steven Adams (Princess Sophia)HUGE DISCLAIMER - I am under the info that this living community is owned by VERNON HILL. If it is not, pleaaaase disregard the information in this review. If it is owned by VERNON HILL, pleaaaase take it into account as HILL had a horrible, utterly terrible effect on my life. Reasons are stated as follows:Lived in Vernon Hills Parh for 5+ years. Never late on rent once. My father, Erminio Lenins, passed away while I was living there. Vernon Hill self admittedly respected my father as Hill had been an insurance salesman as had my dad in the same County, Carteret.Three, as in 3, days after his passing, he told me and my girl, Ashley, that he was not renewing my lease and we would have to leave. He told me he was embarrassed at the amt of times officers had been out. I am saying that we argued at times, and officers came occasionally upon call, but literally neither one of us was ever arrested while living at Hills Mobile Home Park... Never once. While there for a length of two years a man named Robert Snow was a tenant. He was a convicted sexual predator who's crime was molesting his 1 year old daughter. He is on the sexual offenders list. Mr. Hill indicated to me that he had rented to a sexual offender on the list and apparently priorly new of his crime. He also told me that Snow had done additional time beating a prison guard badly. This who was in the adjacent trailer to me for two of the years I lived there. These mistakes in judgements is all that I really experienced from this man.Point 3...Last one. I signed an affidavit to help a friend catch someone stealing from her, as this friend had sold a shop she owned and consigned the merchandise (a large amt of it anyway) to a man named Richie. Hill owned the strip mall in front of his mobile home park as well where Richie had rented a spot to do business. He (Vernon Hill), out of the blue, because of his business dealings with Richie instructed me to reverse the affadavit as a bit of "friendly advice"! He's my landlord, so I did not know how he would react when I indicated that I would not. Being that that my affadavit was apparantly the tipping point for a judge to sign off on a raid of the shop and Richie's house for stolen merchandise. It (the lifted stuff) was found in both spots. This resembles witness tampering in my opinion. So, this is part of what I experienced over my time at Hills Mobile Home Park. Only if negative stars were an option on Google reviews. Stay away from Vernon Hill is my recommendation. As a note, He charged me $3000 as in three thousand some odd dollars when I moved out without producing a bill for any services rendered to the trailer of which I moved out. I was grieving for my father at the time so I just paid him. Prior to the demand he indicated to my fiance, Ashley, when they were in a private convo that he would be "very upset" if I did not make good on his demand. Boo on Vernon Hill. Boo on his business practices. He says he's a businessman. In my experience he more resembled a wannabe fear monger with a Napoleon Complex...a huge one.
Aug 16, 2023 · David LeninsI was tricked into signing a lease for a bedroom instead of a 2. Place wasn't ready. Before I signed the lease, I was told we could add roommates to the lease. Nowhere does the lease say we can't add roommates to the lease. After getting paid from my new roommates, the owner Jeremy told me, he was going to envict me for allowing them to move in. He also googled my name to pull up a news article for me getting arrested for charges that were dropped. He been harrassing me over this ever since.
Nov 01, 2022 · Gods sonIts affordable living and kept clean. Mgmnt seems friendly as well as the maintenace man- both are onsight which is always a plus. Quiet and set back off the mainroad also
Sep 15, 2023 · Elle NinoThe landlord is a slum lord. We lost our trailer during Hurricane Florence. Celiling caved in and mold everywhere. We lost everything. The slum lord couldn't or wouldn't give us our deposit back even though we were homeless and could use whatever we could get. He kept dodging our phone calls and texts. Beware before you rent here. If you have any problems, he goes about fixing them the cheapsest way he can and his maintenence man is a complete idiot.
