Island Palms RV Park Introduce
Welcome to Island Palms RV Park, located at 3727 LA-1, Grand Isle, LA 70358, USA. If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the beautiful coastal region of Grand Isle, Louisiana, Island Palms RV Park offers a prime location with convenient access to the beach and several amenities for RV travelers. You can reach the park at (985) 805-6095 or via their mobile number, +1 985-805-6095, for inquiries about availability and specific details. Based on the available customer reviews, the park boasts an enviable location and some useful facilities, but there is also a significant concern raised regarding customer service that potential guests should consider.
One of the most compelling aspects of Island Palms RV Park, as highlighted by a satisfied guest, is its "Great location!" The park is situated "Very close to a beach access," making it an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf of Grand Isle. The proximity to the beach is a major draw for vacationers and anyone seeking a coastal RV experience. Being just a short distance from the beach allows for easy and frequent trips to the shore, enhancing the overall appeal of the park for those who love the ocean.
In terms of utility hookups, Island Palms RV Park offers 50 Amp electrical service, along with water connections. This is a standard and sufficient setup for most modern RVs, providing the necessary power for appliances and air conditioning, as well as a water supply for onboard systems. It is important to note that the review specifically mentions "only a 50 Amp hookup for electricity + water and electricity," which might imply the absence of sewer hookups at the individual sites. Potential guests should confirm the availability of sewer connections when making their reservations, especially for longer stays.
Island Palms RV Park also provides a "Nice common area" for guests to enjoy. This communal space includes BBQ pits, which are perfect for outdoor cooking and socializing with fellow travelers. Additionally, the park features a fish cleaning station, a valuable amenity for those who plan to engage in fishing activities in the Grand Isle area. The convenience of having a designated space to clean fish makes it easier for anglers to prepare their catch without having to do so at their individual RV sites.
Furthermore, the park offers a helpful service for disposing of fish or crab waste, as mentioned in one of the reviews ("They'll dispose of fish or crab waste for you"). This is a thoughtful amenity that helps keep the park clean and odor-free, especially for guests who frequently engage in fishing or crabbing.
The positive review concludes with a strong endorsement, stating "10/10 will be back," indicating a high level of satisfaction with the location and the available amenities, despite the potential lack of full hookups at each site.
However, a contrasting review paints a concerning picture of the customer service at Island Palms RV Park. This reviewer recounts a very negative phone interaction with a gentleman who initially indicated availability. The issue arose when the reviewer explained that their children would be staying with them. The park representative reportedly asked an inappropriate question about leaving the children alone while the adults worked, even after being assured that an adult would always be present. This line of questioning was deemed intrusive and unprofessional by the reviewer.
The interaction further deteriorated when discussing the monthly price. After quoting a base rate of $750, the representative added an estimated state tax, bringing the total to around $816. When the reviewer asked a simple clarifying question about whether taxes would be refunded for stays longer than a month, the representative's demeanor reportedly changed abruptly. He allegedly told the reviewer "never mind I’m not gonna do this," and when asked if something was said wrong, he replied "yeah you sound like a stickler" before reportedly screaming on the phone and hanging up. This experience left the potential guest feeling that the representative, despite initially seeming nice, was untrustworthy and behaved like a child.
This negative review serves as a serious warning about potential issues with customer service and professionalism at Island Palms RV Park. The reviewer explicitly states, "I would definitely be concerned about this place," based on their interaction.
Given these two very different perspectives, potential guests need to weigh the appealing aspects of the location and amenities against the significant concerns raised about the customer service. The proximity to the beach, the availability of 50 Amp hookups and water, the common area with BBQ pits, and the fish cleaning station are definite advantages for those looking for "RV parks near me" in Grand Isle with these features.
However, the reported rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff member during a booking inquiry is a serious red flag. Positive location and amenities can be overshadowed by negative interactions with management, as this can significantly impact the overall experience and comfort of your stay.
For local users in Grand Isle and the surrounding areas, Island Palms RV Park offers a prime spot for beach access and provides some useful amenities for RV living and recreation, particularly for those interested in fishing. However, the stark contrast in customer service experiences suggests that interactions with the park management may be unpredictable. It would be prudent for potential guests to be cautious and perhaps try to gauge the responsiveness and professionalism of the staff during the booking process.
Before making a reservation, it may be wise to call Island Palms RV Park and inquire about their policies and procedures in a clear and straightforward manner to assess the communication style and helpfulness of the person answering the phone. Additionally, clarifying details about the hookups (specifically regarding sewer), the common area rules, and any other concerns you may have would be beneficial.
In conclusion, Island Palms RV Park boasts a fantastic location very close to the beach in Grand Isle, Louisiana. It offers 50 Amp electrical and water hookups, a nice common area with BBQ pits, and a convenient fish cleaning station with waste disposal. However, a significant concern has been raised regarding unprofessional and rude customer service during a booking inquiry. Potential guests should be aware of this discrepancy in feedback and consider it carefully when deciding whether to stay at Island Palms RV Park. Direct communication with the park is recommended to form your own assessment of their service and to confirm all the necessary details for your stay.

Island Palms RV Park Reviews
Tell you what very disappointed in the gentleman that answered the phone said had availability. Explained about my children living with us . He had the audacity to ask you going to be leaving the alone while you work. Told him no there would be an adult present. After everything being said, he began to tell me the price of the month 750 he said well I got state taxes to be around 816. I don’t know off top of my head. I’m pretty sure it’s 10% all I asked was a simple question to him so if we stay there longer than the month, do we get the taxes back and this is when he tripped Tell me you know what never mind I’m not gonna do this . So I asked did I say something wrong? He said yeah you sound like a stickler and then begin to scream on the phone and then hanged up on me when all I did was ask a question I wasn’t rude to him very kind but after that, I can tell you or anybody that goes here The guy comes off nice but I wouldn’t trust him either. He acts like a child and hangs up on you. I would definitely be concerned about this place.
Apr 22, 2025 · Matt LittleGreat location! Very close to a beach access. Only a 50 Amp hookup for electricity + water and electricity. Nice common area with bbq pits and a fish cleaning station. They'll dispose of fish or crab waste gor you. 10/10 will be back
Aug 28, 2024 · Terry KidderWe enjoyed our stay here. The best RV spot on the Island in our opinion. The host is super nice and the property is well maintained. The common area is awesome, to grill, play games or just hang out on the porch swing is ideal. Not to mention the beach is just across the street. Grand Isle is still rebuilding after hurricane Ida, however there are restaurants and grocery stores open to get what you need. The new marina is also open. Nice deck bar opened on the weekends.
May 13, 2022 · Laura ShainkerWe stayed in one of the cabins, it was just four of us but it sleeps about 7. Grounds were very clean and accommodating! Owners gave great recommendations for things to do and places to eat around town. Beach is pretty much across the street! They have an adorable common area with tables and games for guest! Again the hosts were amazing. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for the amazing hospitality!!
Mar 18, 2021 · Gwenanne Michalsky [WMS]Stayed as an RV guest with a 38' travel trailer. Sites are plenty deep and it was easy to back in. Grounds were super clean and the hosts were really nice and extremely helpful with getting in, setting up, and with things to do around the island. Extremely responsive with phone calls. There is a fire pit, picnic tables, and games and chairs for guest usage.Location is a very short walk to beach access. Would highly recommend and would stay here again. There are also 4 cabins available on site.
