Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY Introduce
For those seeking a different kind of "RV parks near me" experience, Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY, located at 7743 State Hwy F, Hartville, MO 65667, USA, offers a unique and burgeoning "Nomad Village" atmosphere. This isn't your typical RV park; it's a place where DIY is encouraged, community thrives, and long-term stays are welcomed with open arms. Hosted by the exceptionally accommodating Mike Jacques, this evolving space prioritizes comfort, camaraderie, and the practical needs of nomadic individuals and RV enthusiasts.
The environment at Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY is described as "quiet and relaxing," providing a peaceful setting for those looking to settle in or pass through. The host, Mike Jacques, is consistently praised for going "above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable." This personal touch and dedication to guest well-being create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere that distinguishes this location from more conventional RV parks. The emphasis on a comfortable stay suggests that while it embraces a DIY ethos, basic needs and a sense of ease are paramount.
Community is a central feature of Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY. Guests report that "everyone here is welcoming and respectful of your privacy," striking a balance between social interaction and individual space. For those seeking company, the park offers a unique social space: "a couple of busses to hang out in." This communal area fosters interaction among residents and travelers, creating a sense of belonging and shared experience often valued in nomadic communities. Adding to this communal spirit is the provision of morning coffee, with a suggested small contribution if possible, but available without judgment even if you can't. This gesture exemplifies the generous and accepting nature of the community.
The layout of Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY offers flexibility in parking preferences. One reviewer chose to "forego the power and park at the end of the field for the privacy and great sun exposure." This indicates that the park accommodates different needs, whether it's the convenience of hookups or the desire for seclusion and specific environmental conditions. The open field setting allows for customization of parking to maximize sunlight for solar panels or to orient vehicles for optimal airflow and views.
The local climate in Hartville, Missouri, as experienced by a guest, is described as agreeable, "not too dry or humid," a significant advantage for those sensitive to extreme humidity, particularly those coming from the East Coast. The reviewer noted that even during gray or rainy days, the humidity remained manageable. Furthermore, the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are recommended as the best times to be there, with fall temperatures potentially lasting until Thanksgiving, offering a prolonged period of pleasant weather.
A significant draw of Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY is its affordability. The "rent is super reasonable," making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers and long-term nomads. Beyond just a place to park, the community fosters a culture of knowledge sharing. The "other nomads here, including the host, are generous when it comes to sharing their knowledge and skills," creating opportunities to learn about RV gear, maintenance, and nomadic living.
True to its name, Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY explicitly encourages residents and guests to work on their rigs on-site. This is a major feature for those who maintain their own vehicles or are undertaking renovation projects. The acceptance and encouragement of DIY work set this park apart and cater specifically to the needs of many in the nomadic and RV living community.
For added convenience, the park allows residents to have "mail and packages sent here for a fee," providing a crucial service for those living on the road without a fixed address. Additionally, Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY is "dog-friendly," with the stipulation that pets are not aggressive, welcoming furry companions as part of the community.
Looking towards the future, there are exciting "works in progress" at Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY that promise to further enhance the experience:
- **Showers:** A much-anticipated amenity, with a donated water heater paving the way for the future offering of showers for a fee. This will significantly improve the comfort and convenience for long-term residents and travelers.
- **Workshop:** Plans are underway to convert a "big barn" into a "multi area workshop for DIYers to use when working on their rig." This dedicated space will be a valuable asset for those who need a sheltered and equipped area for RV maintenance and repairs, further solidifying the park's DIY focus.
The overwhelmingly positive review, culminating in a "5 stars!" rating and the statement "We will definitely be back next year!" underscores the exceptional experience offered at Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY. The combination of a welcoming host, a supportive community, a pleasant environment, reasonable rent, and the encouragement of DIY work creates a truly unique and valuable option for those seeking "RV parks near me" with a difference.
While specific details about standard RV park amenities like water, electricity, and sewer hookups at each site are not explicitly mentioned in the review, the fact that one guest chose to forego power suggests that at least some sites offer these connections. It is advisable to contact Mike Jacques directly at (417) 741-0665 or +1 417-741-0665 to inquire about the availability and cost of these amenities, as well as the current rental rates and any specific policies. Given the ongoing development of the park, it's also a good idea to ask about the expected timeline for the new showers and workshop.
In conclusion, Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY offers a refreshing and unique approach to RV living. It's more than just a place to park; it's a budding nomad village centered around community, self-sufficiency, and a welcoming atmosphere. The attentive host, reasonable rent, encouragement of DIY work, and upcoming amenities make it a compelling option for those seeking "RV parks near me" with a strong sense of community and a focus on practical living. Jacques Rolling Wheels DIY Reviews
Mike Jacques, the host of this budding Nomad Village, goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable.Everyone here is welcoming and respectful of your privacy. They have a couple of busses to hang out in when you want company and even coffee in the morning. Leave a dollar or 2 if you can, enjoy your coffee if you can't, noone will judge. We chose to forego the power and park at the end of the field for the privacy and great sun exposure. We lined up the trailer so the door was facing east and even on a cool day we could keep the door open for fresh air and warm sunshine. The afternoon sun kept me warm on cool days and the great sun exposure allowed us to run the exhaust fan on high to stay cool. Our local friends tell us the best time to be here is the spring and fall - and that we can expect fall temperatures until at least Thanksgiving (with a few exceptions: we just spent a few nights with the group to get power for 2 nights that were in the 20s, but we're back to the 40s and 50s at night and high 60s to high 70s in the day.)The climate here isn't too dry or humid - we can't stand the humidity of the East Coast!Even during the few gray or rainy days we've had so far, it didn't get very humid. The rent is super reasonable. The other nomads here, including the host, are generous when it comes to sharing their knowledge and skills so we've learned a lot about our gear since we got here.Seems obvious from the name but worth mentioning: not only do they allow you to work on your rig on site, they encourage it.They allow you to have mail and packages sent here for a fee.Dogs are allowed as long as they are not aggressive.Works in progress to look forward to:1. Showers! Someone donated a water heater so they will soon be offering showers for a fee.2. Workshop! They have a big barn that they will be turning into a multi area workshop for DIYers to use when working on their rig.Looking forward to seeing what these guys do with this great location over the next few years.5 stars! We will definitely be back next year!
