JOY RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Cocoa, Florida area, JOY RV Park, situated at 245 Flamingo Dr, Cocoa, FL 32926, presents itself as a charming and conveniently located option. Based on customer reviews, JOY RV Park offers a tranquil environment with easy access to notable attractions and essential amenities, catering to both RV campers and those interested in cabin or park model rentals.
Described as a "small, quiet park," JOY RV Park offers a peaceful retreat for travelers. Its location just off I-95 provides excellent accessibility for those passing through or looking to explore the surrounding region. Despite its proximity to a major highway, reviewers note that the noise level is "minimal," suggesting a surprisingly serene atmosphere within the park.
One reviewer who camped during the last week of the month mentioned ongoing "activities" within the park, though they could only find a calendar for the following month. This hints at a potentially active community with organized events for guests to enjoy. The fact that a calendar of activities is available suggests that JOY RV Park aims to provide an engaging experience beyond just a place to park.
A unique feature for visitors to JOY RV Park is its proximity to the Kennedy Space Center. One reviewer was fortunate enough to witness "2 rocket launches the week we were there," highlighting the park's advantageous location for space enthusiasts hoping to catch a launch during their stay. This proximity to a major attraction adds significant value for those interested in space exploration.
For RV campers, JOY RV Park offers sites that are described as "small, but level and well taken care of with concrete patio and small picnic table." While the sites might be compact, the provision of a level surface, a concrete patio, and a picnic table ensures a comfortable and functional setup for RVers to enjoy their outdoor space. The fact that the sites are "well taken care of" indicates attention to maintenance and upkeep.
Cleanliness is clearly a priority at JOY RV Park, as evidenced by the reviewer's comment that the "Showers were very clean with lots of hot water." Clean and reliable shower facilities are essential for a positive RV camping experience, and JOY RV Park appears to excel in this area.
Beyond the park itself, its location offers easy access to other attractions. The reviewer specifically mentions the proximity to "Beaches and Kennedy Space Center nearby," reiterating the convenience of JOY RV Park as a base for exploring these popular destinations.
Another reviewer, who initially found no availability but decided to stop by, had a positive experience exploring alternative accommodation options. Tammy in the office is commended for being "nice enough to show us a cabin and a park model that would be available the next day." This suggests that JOY RV Park offers a variety of lodging options beyond traditional RV sites, including cabins and park models, catering to different preferences and needs.
The reviewer chose to stay in a park model, specifically #196, a "super clean and cute" 2-bedroom unit. These park models appear to be well-equipped, including "Pots, pans, utensils, and such" for guests to use, making them a convenient option for those who prefer not to bring all their own camping gear. The proximity of the park models to amenities is also highlighted, with #196 being close to the "nice heated pool, the rec hall, and the laundry center." The availability of a heated pool extends the swimming season and provides a relaxing amenity. A rec hall suggests a space for community gatherings and activities, while a laundry center adds practicality for longer stays.
The grounds of JOY RV Park are described as easily navigable by foot or bike, and guests are also able to explore the grounds of the adjacent Sonrise campground and a nearby tiny home community that shares roadways. This interconnectedness suggests a larger area to explore and potentially more amenities accessible to guests of JOY RV Park.
The "friendly Staff are constantly providing maintenance to ensure the grounds are clean and taken care of," reinforcing the earlier positive comment about cleanliness and indicating a commitment to maintaining the park's appearance and functionality. The mention of "Fellow campers provide fun winter activities" further highlights the sense of community and the potential for social engagement, especially during the winter season when many snowbirds flock to Florida.
While the overall experience is highly positive, the second reviewer also notes a few "cons" that potential guests should be aware of. The television in the park model relies on an antenna that works "intermittently," and the Wi-Fi also has inconsistent performance. Additionally, the air conditioning in the park model was set at a fixed temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit and could not be adjusted, regardless of the interior heat. Finally, there are "no drinks allowed at the pool" (not even water), and "Children are allowed to visit only," suggesting restrictions on younger guests staying overnight.
Despite these drawbacks, the reviewer concludes that it's a "great location" and they "would definitely stay again," indicating that the positives of JOY RV Park, such as its quiet atmosphere, convenient location, clean facilities, and friendly staff, outweigh the noted cons for many visitors.
Considering the platform category "RV parks near me," JOY RV Park offers a compelling option in Cocoa, Florida, with a focus on providing a quiet and well-maintained environment with various accommodation choices, including RV sites, park models, and cabins. Its proximity to attractions like beaches and the Kennedy Space Center, along with on-site amenities like a heated pool, rec hall, and laundry, make it a convenient base for exploring the area. The friendly staff and sense of community further enhance the appeal.
Prospective guests of JOY RV Park should be aware of the limitations regarding television and Wi-Fi connectivity, the fixed air conditioning temperature in the park models, and the pool and child visitation policies. However, for those prioritizing a quiet location, clean facilities, and access to nearby attractions, JOY RV Park appears to be a highly recommended choice.

Feb 03, 2025 · Kathy SutherlandJoy is a nice quiet little campground. We had called and they didn’t have anything available, but we decided to stop in and check it out to see if it was somewhere that we would want to be during a future stay. Tammy (in the office) was nice enough to show us a cabin and a park model that would be available the next day. Both were cute; but we chose the park model. The next day we moved into the park model. It was super clean and cute. #196 is a 2 bedroom unit. Pots, pans, utensils , and such are there to use. It’s close to the nice heated pool, the rec hall, and the laundry center. You can easily walk or bike around the grounds and also at the Sonrise campground next door or tiny home community that shares roadways. The friendly Staff are constantly providing maintenance to ensure the grounds are clean and taken care of. Fellow campers provide fun winter activities. We would definitely stay again! Please note that there are a few cons that you might want to be aware of: there is one tv and it provides an antenna that works intermittently; as does the wifi. AC temperature is 72 regardless of how hot it gets inside. (We could not regulate it) There are no drinks allowed at the pool. (Not even water.) Children are allowed to visit only. Overall, It’s a great location and we recommend. * The 1st set of pics are the park model and the last pics are of a cabin we saw there.
Apr 01, 2025 · KEOANAS4One day this RV park will be very nice. They are planting trees, grass, fixing the drivein movie screen. The only problem is there was mud everywhere because of the rain and the site pads were so small there was nowhere to put a table and chairs. The site we were at had no grass and when we stepped outside we sunk down in mud. There was no washers/dryers and no showers available yet. In about a year this RV park will be nice.
Apr 03, 2025 · Brenda KendrickJoy RV Park is a cute quaint location. Quick access to highway and nearby major stores makes it an ideal location for short or long term stay. The park is hidden and accessible at the end of the street that provides eclectic sights of tiny homes along the way.Our settling in was simple and straight forward. Our site had a reasonable size cement pad with picnic table. The RV pad is gravel and not leveled. Therefore our auto level was much needed. Water pressure and Internet was very good.Facilities were well kept and the pool looked well managed.I would stay here again. Thank you Joy RV Park!!
Jan 22, 2023 · Rozi HornThe park was NOT easy to find. It is located off of Tucker Lane and Sandpiper Drive. It is about a mile from I 95 but the signage is very poor. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are paved and in good condition. This park is NOT a resort. The only amenity is a pool. There is not even a playground for children. There is nothing noteworthy about the park but it did deliver the basics needed for our stay. There are negatives. The ground gets very mushy and water pools on the roadway when it rains and it stays that way for a long time. Clearly, there is a drainage problem. There is course sand around that gets easily tracked into your rig. Many pet cats roam freely and defecate everywhere. The only trash bin in located very inconveniently way up front. Our site, 178, was a grass based back in that was long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp and sewer were to the left but water was to the right rear. Both water and power were a big stretch). Distancing is not too bad for a rural park. There are no privacy barriers. Each site has a table and a small concrete patio. Our site was flat and even. Overall, the park looked tired and run down. The park included wifi worked well most of the time. There is no cable TV but we found a number of OTA channels. Satellite would not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean as was the laundromat. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay base for visiting local attractions. We paid $60.00 per night inc tax and we feel we received poor value. We would be back if in the area again but only if we could not find anything else.
