Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park Introduce
Are you a local user in the New Smyrna Beach, Florida, area searching for "RV parks near me" with the potential for long-term, community-oriented living in a scenic environment? Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park, located at 1165 State Rte 415, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168, USA, presents itself as a distinctive option, offering a lakeside setting with numerous appealing features. However, alongside the positive aspects highlighted by some residents, there is a significant concern raised regarding lake access and emergency responsiveness that potential residents should carefully consider. This introduction aims to provide a balanced overview of Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park based on the available online reviews.
Several reviewers describe Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park in glowing terms, emphasizing its unique and attractive environment. One resident notes that it is a "Very nice park with trees and relatively substantial space between homes," suggesting a more open and less crowded feel than some typical mobile home communities. The presence of mature trees can contribute to a pleasant, shaded environment and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the park.
A significant draw of Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park is its location "On the lake with many acres of common areas." This waterfront setting offers residents access to the lake, with one reviewer specifically mentioning "Boat access for fishing." Lakeside living provides opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. The "magnificent sunsets" mentioned by another resident further underscore the scenic advantages of this location. The abundance of "Lots of birds and other native wildlife" suggests a community that is integrated with and appreciates the local ecosystem, appealing to nature lovers.
Beyond the physical environment, Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park is also praised for its strong sense of community. One reviewer describes it as "Not your average mobile home community," highlighting "A real feeling that everyone is looking out for each other's best interests." This suggests a close-knit and supportive atmosphere where residents feel a sense of belonging and mutual care, which can be a significant benefit for those seeking a welcoming neighborhood.
The park is also commended for its upkeep, with one reviewer simply stating, "Very well maintained." This implies that the management takes pride in the appearance and functionality of the community, ensuring a pleasant living environment for its residents.
However, a critical review raises a serious concern regarding the accessibility of the lake and the responsiveness of emergency contacts. This reviewer recounts an incident where "they will close the gate at 8 without waiting for ppl to get out." This strict adherence to gate closing times, even without ensuring all residents have exited, led to the reviewer and others having to leave their car in the park and take an Uber home. The subsequent lack of response from the emergency contact person is particularly troubling. The reviewer states, "There is no response when you call their emergency contact. ... This incident happened a week ago and the emegency contact person has still not called me back." This lack of responsiveness in an emergency situation is a significant safety and security concern that potential residents must consider.
The contrasting nature of these reviews presents a nuanced picture of Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park. On one hand, it offers a beautiful lakeside environment with spacious lots, a strong sense of community, and good maintenance. These are significant positives that could appeal to many seeking long-term living in the New Smyrna Beach area. The boat access and abundant wildlife further enhance its appeal for nature enthusiasts.
On the other hand, the reported issue with the lake access gate closing and the unresponsiveness of the emergency contact are serious concerns that could impact residents' safety and convenience. The lack of flexibility with gate hours and the failure of the emergency contact to respond in a timely manner (or at all, in the reported case) are aspects that potential residents should investigate thoroughly.
For local users considering Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park as a potential long-term residence, it is crucial to conduct thorough due diligence. While the positive aspects are attractive, the negative report regarding lake access and emergency response needs careful consideration. The following steps are strongly recommended:
- Contact Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park directly at (386) 428-1998 or +1 386-428-1998 to inquire about the hours of operation for the lake access gate and the community's policies regarding late returns. Understand the procedures for accessing the lake outside of regular hours, if any.
- Specifically ask about the emergency contact protocols and the expected response times. Inquire about the procedures in place to ensure that emergency contacts are responsive and able to assist residents when needed.
- If possible, visit the community and observe the environment firsthand. Pay attention to the spacing between homes, the condition of the common areas, and the accessibility of the lake.
- Attempt to speak with current residents to gather a broader range of experiences and opinions about living in Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park. Inquire about their experiences with lake access, community management, and emergency responsiveness.
- Ask about any specific rules or regulations regarding lake usage, boating, and fishing.
- Inquire about the overall age demographic of the community to understand if it caters to a specific age group (e.g., 55+).
- If pet-friendly living is important, inquire about the community's pet policies.
For local users specifically searching for short-term "RV parks near me," Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park, as a community with long-term residents and an emphasis on manufactured homes, may not be the most suitable option. Mobile home parks typically cater to individuals seeking a more permanent or long-term seasonal residence.
In conclusion, Lake Ashby Mobile Home Park in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, offers a unique lakeside living experience with spacious lots, a strong sense of community, and natural beauty. However, the reported incident regarding the lake access gate and the unresponsiveness of the emergency contact raise significant concerns that potential residents must address through direct inquiry and thorough investigation. While the positive aspects of the park are appealing, ensuring safety and convenience regarding lake access and emergency support is paramount for long-term residential satisfaction.

Jul 08, 2019 · MithThis is a very nice privately owned senior park. Well maintained, lovely dock on the lake, boat ramp, fishing... An all around lovely place... except for some of the park rules... way to restrictive!
