When selecting an RV park, factors such as the availability of essential services, the condition of the facilities, the ease of access, and the overall environment play crucial roles. Lakeside RV Park, based on recent customer reviews, presents a mixed picture with both positive aspects and areas that potential visitors should be aware of. Let's delve into the details regarding its environment, services, features, and any available information on pricing.
Environment and Location:
Lakeside RV Park is situated on US-280 East in Opelika, Alabama. A significant aspect of its location, highlighted by a customer review, is its proximity to a highway. While this offers the advantage of easy access for travelers on the road, it also comes with the potential drawback of "a good bit of road noise." For those prioritizing peace and quiet, this is an important factor to consider. However, for travelers looking for a convenient overnight stop close to a major route, the location can be quite beneficial.
One reviewer noted that the park is called "Lakeside" but mentioned, "there isn't a lake. Deceiving." This suggests that the name might not accurately reflect the immediate natural surroundings of the park. Local users familiar with the area might already be aware of the landscape, but for those unfamiliar, it's important to note that a lakeside environment is not a feature of this RV park based on this feedback.
On a positive note regarding the physical environment within the park, a reviewer described the "gravel lots" as "clean" and the "overnight area" as "neat" and having sites that are "big enough." This suggests that the parking areas are well-maintained and offer sufficient space for RVs. However, another reviewer pointed out that the "Children's playground is in unsafe condition," which is a significant concern for families traveling with children. This aspect of the environment needs to be taken into account by those who might rely on playground facilities.
Services and Amenities:
Based on the customer reviews, we have some information about the services and amenities offered at Lakeside RV Park:
- Full Hookups with 50 Amps: A significant advantage mentioned by a reviewer is that "the lots had full hookups with 50 amps." This is a desirable feature for many RVers as it provides connections for electricity (with a substantial 50-amp service suitable for larger RVs), water, and sewer at each site.
- Ice: One reviewer noted that they "saw they had ice" available for purchase, which is a convenient amenity for travelers needing to replenish their ice supply.
- Staff Courtesy: Both reviewers commented positively on the staff. One mentioned, "The staff was very nice" and described an instance where staff came by to thank them and wish them safe travels. This indicates a friendly and welcoming service culture.
The reviews do not provide information about other common RV park amenities such as restroom and shower facilities, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, or recreational areas (besides the mentioned unsafe playground). The absence of comments on these aspects does not necessarily mean they are not available, but potential visitors should inquire specifically about these services if they are important for their stay.
Features and Unique Aspects:
Lakeside RV Park has a few notable features based on the available reviews:
- Highway Proximity: As mentioned earlier, the close proximity to a highway offers easy access for travelers, although it does come with potential road noise.
- Full Hookups with Strong Electrical Service: The availability of full hookups, including 50-amp electrical service, is a key feature that caters to a wide range of RV types and power needs.
- Clean and Spacious Lots: The "clean gravel lots" that are "big enough" provide a comfortable and functional parking space for RVs.
- Friendly Staff: The positive comments about the staff suggest a welcoming and helpful atmosphere.
However, it's also important to consider the potential drawbacks highlighted in the reviews, such as the road noise due to highway proximity and the reported unsafe condition of the children's playground. The misleading name regarding the absence of a lake is also a point to note for potential visitors.
Promotional Information:
One reviewer mentioned the price for an overnight stay at the time of their visit: "$50.00 for an overnight stay." This provides some indication of the cost for a short-term visit. However, pricing can vary based on the time of year, length of stay, and the type of site. There is no information available regarding potential discounts for longer stays or any other promotional offers. Local users planning to stay at Lakeside RV Park should contact them directly at (334) 745-5414 or +1 334-745-5414 to inquire about current rates for different durations of stay and any ongoing promotions.
Conclusion for Local Users:
Lakeside RV Park in Opelika, AL, offers a convenient location for RVers, particularly those needing easy access to US-280. The park provides essential full hookups with 50-amp service and features clean and spacious gravel lots. The staff has been noted for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, potential visitors should be aware of the park's proximity to the highway, which may result in road noise. Additionally, the name "Lakeside" is reportedly misleading as there is no lake on the property, and the children's playground has been described as being in unsafe condition. For local users considering Lakeside RV Park, it is recommended to weigh the convenience of its location and amenities against the potential for noise and the reported issues with the playground. Contacting the park directly for the most up-to-date information on pricing and the condition of all facilities is advisable before making a reservation.

Lakeside RV Park Reviews
Only stayed overnight. The lots had full hookups with 50 amps. The gravel lots were clean, and the park was near a hwy. The staff was very nice. Even came by right before we left to thank us for stopping in and wishing us safe travels. I saw they had ice. I didn't check out the bathrooms. At the time of our stay, it was $50.00 for an overnight stay.
Apr 06, 2025 · BG HarrisStayed two nights. The overnight area is neat and sites are big enough. It is very close to highway, so there is a good bit of road noise. I don't know why it's called Lakeside as there isn't a lake. Deceiving. Children's playground is in unsafe condition. Read all the reviews.
Apr 05, 2025 · Jeanne WardWe love this place very comfortable and safe. We love Butch and Betty. Everyone here are friendly and helpful. Love it when we all sit beside the fire and talk and get to meet some of the people that stay here.
Nov 23, 2024 · Linda WilliamsLove this place. Nice and quiet and owners are awesome. So peaceful! Will definetly be back!!!!
Apr 26, 2025 · ShelleyThe staff are very kind and helpful. We had a ton of space while here because we were in the newer constructed side of the campground. Very much still working on it but has a lot of potential. Seems like a lot of full-timers live there. Location isn’t great on the outer ring of the campground due to the highway noise, very close. Aside from that, great spot. Propane is elsewhere, but they do pick up trash.
