Lamco RV Park Introduce
When searching for “RV parks near me” in the El Campo, Texas vicinity, Lamco RV Park, situated at 25414 US-59, El Campo, TX 77437, USA, is an option to consider. You can contact them at (979) 543-8119 or +1 979-543-8119 for inquiries about availability and reservations. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, there appear to be both positive attributes regarding the cleanliness and infrastructure of the park, as well as significant concerns related to the entry and reservation management that potential guests should carefully evaluate.
On the positive side, one reviewer expressed being “pleasantly surprised with the campground and the city of El Campo.” This suggests that the overall area and the RV park itself left a favorable initial impression. The reviewer specifically commended the owners for taking “a lot of pride in keeping the grounds clean and recreation building clean.” This indicates a commitment to maintaining a tidy and pleasant environment for guests, which is a significant factor for many RV travelers.
Furthermore, this reviewer was particularly impressed with the showers, describing them as “nice and clean!” Clean restroom and shower facilities are often a high priority for RV park users, and this positive feedback suggests that Lamco RV Park excels in this area. The availability of clean and well-maintained amenities can greatly enhance the comfort and satisfaction of a stay.
Another notable feature mentioned is that “All concrete parking pads” are provided at the sites. This is a significant advantage as concrete pads offer a stable and level surface for parking RVs, which can be particularly beneficial during wet weather and for overall stability. The reviewer also noted that the park offers a mix of site types, with “some were pull throughs and some were back ins!” This variety in site configuration can accommodate different sizes and types of RVs and offer flexibility for travelers with varying preferences and maneuvering capabilities.
However, the positive aspects are counterbalanced by a notable negative experience reported by the same reviewer. They mentioned that “when entering the gate area - we came close to hitting a feeder on the front property.” This suggests a potential design or placement issue with obstacles near the park’s entrance that could pose a safety hazard or inconvenience for arriving RVs, particularly larger ones like the 5th wheel mentioned by the reviewer. The suggestion to “move about 2 of them to make it easier to enter” indicates that this was a tangible concern that affected their arrival experience.
Adding to the concerns is a separate, more serious negative review detailing a significant issue with reservation management. The reviewer stated, “I had reservations and a site number and as I was putting in the code to get in the gate I was informed that they had rented my space to someone else that was coming in a day early.” This incident of overbooking, despite having a confirmed reservation and site number, is a major failure in customer service and could lead to significant inconvenience and frustration for travelers who have planned their trip in advance. The fact that the reviewer had driven about 20 miles to reach the park only to be turned away further exacerbates the negative impact of this mismanagement.
The reviewer’s subsequent decision to go to Brackinridge Park in Edna, TX, and their positive feedback about that alternative (“it is nice with deer walking around”) highlights the negative experience at Lamco RV Park by comparison. The postscript, “PS The manager at Lancô said it wasn't his fault that the other camper was coming a day early😆,” indicates a lack of accountability and poor handling of the overbooking situation by the management, further contributing to a negative impression of their customer service.
Considering these contrasting reviews, Lamco RV Park appears to offer a clean and well-maintained physical environment with desirable features like concrete pads and a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. However, potential guests should be aware of a reported safety concern regarding the gate entrance and a significant incident of overbooking coupled with a seemingly dismissive attitude from the management regarding the error. These issues raise concerns about the reliability of reservations and the overall quality of customer service in handling unforeseen situations.
For local users searching for “RV parks near me” in El Campo, TX, Lamco RV Park presents a mixed picture. The emphasis on cleanliness and the quality of the physical infrastructure are definite positives. However, the reported problems with the gate entrance and, more critically, the overbooking incident and the manager’s response, should give potential guests pause. It would be prudent to inquire specifically about their reservation policies and procedures when booking a stay and to be mindful of potential difficulties upon arrival.
In conclusion, while Lamco RV Park in El Campo, TX, seems to offer a clean and well-equipped campground with concrete pads and good shower facilities, potential visitors should be aware of reported issues concerning the safety of the gate entrance and the reliability of their reservation system. The negative experience of being turned away due to overbooking, coupled with the manager’s reaction, suggests that customer service in certain situations may be lacking. Therefore, while the park has its merits in terms of cleanliness and infrastructure, prospective guests should exercise caution and perhaps seek assurances regarding their reservations before choosing to stay at Lamco RV Park.

Lamco RV Park Reviews
Pleasantly surprised with the campground and the city of El Campo!!! The owners take a lot of pride in keeping the grounds clean and recreation building clean. We were very impressed with the showers - nice and clean! All concrete parking pads - some were pull throughs and some were back ins! The only negative is when entering the gate area - we came close to hitting a feeder on the front property. Perhaps the owners could move about 2 of them to make it easier to enter. We will absolutely be back. We were here in a 5th wheel.
Dec 29, 2015 · Tom or Margo UehlingI had reservations and a site number and as I was putting in the code to get in the gate I was informed that they had rented my space to someone else that was coming in a day early. I drove about 20 miles and got a much better place. My advice is go to Brackinridge Park in Edna TX. it is nice with deer walking around. PS The manager at Lancô said it wasn't his fault that the other camper was coming a day early😆
Apr 04, 2017 · Gary WagersI wished I could say it’s a great place but I cannot. We called days ahead to reserve a spot for 1 night was told we would receive an email with our lot number ect... did not get an email and when called several times no one answered nor responded to our messages. We arrived to a locked up office and had to scramble to find a place 2 thumbs down 👎👎.
Sep 08, 2019 · TJ Stone-TijerinaClean safe place to stay for a few nights traveling through Texas. A little road noise even though you are 100 yards off the main road. Great little town with good restaurants.
