Lost Lake RV Resort Introduce
Nestled at 1546 Reservation Rd SE in Olympia, Washington, Lost Lake RV Resort presents a distinctive model within the "RV parks near me" category. Unlike traditional commercial campgrounds offering nightly or short-term stays, Lost Lake operates as an "air" condominium community where the 272 lots are privately owned. This unique structure fosters a strong sense of community and long-term residency, making it an appealing option for those seeking a more permanent or seasonal RV living arrangement in the Olympia area.
Recent positive developments have significantly enhanced the appeal of Lost Lake RV Resort. Addressing a past negative review from 2019, current residents emphasize the positive transformation the resort has undergone. A significant milestone was the successful resolution of a legal battle with developers, granting the owners association full independence. This victory has paved the way for ongoing improvements and a renewed sense of community control. Furthermore, Lost Lake has expanded its property with the recent acquisition of 53 adjacent acres of open land, which now features walking trails and offers breathtaking views of Mount Rainier, adding significant value to the resident experience.
It is crucial for prospective local users to understand the fundamental nature of Lost Lake. It is not a transient campground that accommodates overnight or short-term stays. Instead, it functions as a residential community governed by an owners association and a volunteer board of directors elected by the lot owners. This board oversees all aspects of the resort's operation, including the maintenance team, office staff, budget management, and day-to-day affairs. This homeowner-led structure ensures that the interests of the residents are at the forefront of decision-making.
The properties within Lost Lake RV Resort comprise a mix of traditional RV sites and lots featuring park model "tiny homes." The level of development on these lots varies. Some offer basic infrastructure, including bare dirt and gravel pads with essential electric, water, septic, and CATV hookups. Others have been extensively developed to create more comfortable and long-term living spaces, often featuring amenities such as pole barns, covered patios, and storage sheds, catering to those seeking a "glamping" lifestyle. While overnight rentals are not permitted, owners have the option to rent out their lots, provided the rental period is a minimum of three months. Additionally, there are specific rules in place regarding the age and length of RVs allowed within the resort, applicable to both owners and their tenants, ensuring a consistent aesthetic and functionality within the community.
Several factors contribute to the exceptional appeal of Lost Lake RV Resort, as highlighted by its residents. The location offers a unique blend of natural tranquility and urban convenience. Residents appreciate the peaceful and quiet woodland setting while being just a 15-minute drive from the amenities of Olympia. While the occasional sound of a passing train and periodic training exercises at the nearby Joint Base Lewis McChord are part of the ambient environment, they do not detract significantly from the overall serenity.
A central feature of the resort is the beautiful Lost Lake itself, complete with a dock and a beach area. This provides residents with opportunities for fishing, kayaking, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water and observing the local wildlife, including jumping fish and nesting eagles. The lake serves as a natural focal point for recreation and relaxation within the community.
The operation and maintenance of Lost Lake RV Resort are funded through monthly dues and assessments paid by the lot owners. These fees support the impressive array of amenities available to residents. The resort boasts a beautiful swimming pool complex, complete with a spa, locker rooms with a sauna, a pool table, and a fitness center, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. For outdoor recreation, there are two pickleball/sport courts, a mini-golf course, and a children’s playground. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy the on-site hiking trails, while the community clubhouse offers a full kitchen, a game room, a laundry facility, and a convenient drop-off center for trash and recyclables. Residents consistently praise the maintenance team for keeping all facilities well-maintained and the resort landscaping looking attractive.
Beyond the physical amenities, Lost Lake RV Resort fosters a vibrant and inclusive community of residents of all ages. A wide range of social activities takes place almost daily, providing ample opportunities for residents to connect and engage with their neighbors. These activities include poker games, Dungeons & Dragons sessions, Bunco, bingo nights, karaoke, board game gatherings, potlucks, cookouts, and even community theater productions put on by the Lost Lake Players. This active social calendar ensures that there is something to appeal to a diverse range of interests and fosters a strong sense of belonging among residents.
For local users seeking a special place for seasonal RVing or full-time living in a friendly and potentially affordable setting, purchasing a lot at Lost Lake RV Resort is presented as a compelling option. The sense of community pride and the welcoming nature of the residents are frequently mentioned as key benefits. The homeowner association structure empowers residents to take ownership of their community and contribute to its well-being.
In summary, Lost Lake RV Resort offers a unique residential RV living experience in Olympia, Washington. Its key features include:

Lost Lake RV Resort Reviews
Lost Lake is the most amazing, unique, wonderful place! I’m sorry that Mr Chavez had such a bad experience while renting here in 2019. However valid his experience might be, it was 6 years ago and times they have changed - and in a very positive way! We are much better resort today and we keep getting better! Our owners are no longer engaged in a legal battle with the developers! We won our lawsuit and are now totally independent from the developers. The developers still own about 20 lots that are available for purchase or rent (3 month minimum). Most recently, we purchased 53 additional acres of open land adjacent to the resort. This land has walking trails and an amazing view of Mt Rainier.First, folks need to understand that Lost Lake is NOT a commercial campground where people can come and stay for a night or two. This is a very unique “air” condominium, where the 272 lots are privately owned and have a maximum occupancy of two residents. There is an owners association with a board of directors elected by owners. The volunteer board oversees the resort, including the maintenance team and office staff. For me, I love living in the woods, while also being 15 minutes from town. It is so peaceful and quiet here - with the exception of the occasional sound of a passing train and periodic training exercises at nearby Joint Base Lewis McChord. May 01, 2025 · Deb B.Love it here! This community welcomed me in right away. Love having amazing neighbors and although we are an HOA. I appreciate everyone having pride in their place.
May 05, 2025 · Tiara BakerMy husband and I purchased a lot back in Aug. ‘23 and have had such an amazing experience so far! The beauty of the forest and the mystical Lost Lake itself is mind-boggling!!! We wake up every day needing to pinch ourselves that we really get to be a part of this awesome community! The folks here super friendly - both the staff and residents alike. When we were moving our rig into our site, so many people volunteered to help my husband back in under the RV cover. Everything here is well maintained and I feel every attempt is made to preserve the natural beauty of the resort.
Apr 23, 2024 · KRIS ENDERSI stayed here for almost nine months ag in 2019. I was a renter, so I was treated always like an outsider by the other owner-residents. Then there was this nasty legal dispute between my landlord and the Resort's COA. My internet was disconnected (I needed it for my work) , my access to their facilities (pool, gym, restrooms) was denied, my onsite propane tank refill service was canceled. My landlord (Tammy) kept on telling me that everything was going to be resolved soon. Four months went on, and It never happened, so I moved out . So unfair, unprofessional, and disappointing being caught in the middle of their mess. So please make sure you are renting your space from the right side.
Mar 01, 2025 · Jose ChavezWe have a lot in this resort. It is an absolutely beautiful place to live! For the most part the people who live here are friendly. There are some great amenities like an indoor/ outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, mini golf, fully equipped workout room, club house on a 8 acre lake, pickle ball courts, and much more! The prices for lots are reasonable. Title insurance is now available! There is a great dog community also!
