Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park Introduce
If you're searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Cuba, Missouri area, Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park, located at 1360 State Hwy UU, 65453, might appear as an option. You can reach them at (573) 885-2541 or +1 573-885-2541. However, it's important to consider recent customer feedback to gain a realistic understanding of what to expect during your stay.
Based on recent reviews, some visitors have expressed significant disappointment with their experience at Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park. One reviewer stated they 'were not at all impressed' and felt that the online pictures did not accurately represent the reality of the campground. This discrepancy between online portrayal and the actual environment is a crucial point for potential visitors to note.
A significant concern raised by a guest involved unexpected additional charges for amenities that were seemingly advertised as part of the campground experience. Upon arrival, this visitor was informed via a 'little piece of paper' that using the pool, putt-putt golf, or fishing in the lake would require purchasing a $10 wristband per person per day. The reviewer felt this was 'dishonest' as this upcharge was not mentioned on the brochure or presumably during the booking process. This lack of transparency regarding amenity fees is a critical factor for budget-conscious travelers to consider.
The condition of the facilities also appears to be a point of concern. The same reviewer reported 'extremely low water pressure' at their site. Furthermore, they described the bathhouse as 'ran down' and noted the absence of locks on the stall doors. In a follow-up edit to their review, the guest elaborated on the bathhouse conditions, mentioning 'layers of chipping paint all over the floor and walls' and the lack of latches on the stalls. These details paint a picture of facilities that may not be well-maintained or up to the expectations set by online representations.
Another concerning review detailed negative experiences related to a membership purchase at the campground. The reviewer stated that 'things went quickly downhill' after purchasing a membership. They reported issues with billing, including continuing to receive invoices even after paperwork for removal from the deed was executed. This individual also alleged consistent 'nickeled and dimes' charges despite upfront payment, lost reservations, the giving away of their reserved site, and 'horrible customer service.' The reviewer further specifically mentioned a manager named Kat as being 'completely inept at her job.' This feedback raises serious concerns about the management and operational practices of the business.
The negative experiences highlighted in these reviews contrast sharply with the expectation of a pleasant and reasonably priced weekend trip that one visitor had based on the online presentation. The unexpected fees, subpar facility conditions (low water pressure, rundown bathhouse with no stall locks), and reported issues with management and customer service are significant drawbacks that potential visitors should be aware of.
For those searching for 'RV parks near me' with specific amenities like a pool, putt-putt golf, or a lake for fishing, it is crucial to inquire directly with Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park about any associated costs for using these facilities. The experience of one reviewer suggests that these may not be included in the base rate and could incur a significant daily charge per person.
Similarly, if clean and well-maintained bathroom facilities are a priority, it would be wise to seek recent and unbiased information about the current condition of the bathhouses at Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park. The reported issues with chipping paint and non-functional stall locks indicate a potential lack of upkeep that may impact the comfort and convenience of guests.
The reported issues with water pressure are also a practical consideration for RV travelers, as adequate water pressure is essential for various RV functions. Inquiring about the reliability of water service at individual sites would be a prudent step before booking a stay.
Given the serious allegations of mismanagement, lost reservations, and poor customer service from a former member, potential guests might want to exercise caution and perhaps seek alternative campgrounds in the area, especially for long-term stays or membership considerations. If you do choose to book a stay, it would be advisable to obtain written confirmation of all charges and reservations.
The negative feedback regarding the discrepancy between online representation and the actual campground environment serves as a reminder to always seek out multiple and recent reviews from various sources before making a booking decision. Relying solely on a campground's website or brochure may not provide an accurate picture of the current state of the facilities and services.
Currently, there is no positive feedback or information suggesting any recent improvements or promotional offers for Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park based on the provided reviews. The absence of positive comments in these recent experiences is notable. Therefore, potential visitors should weigh the reported negative aspects carefully against any potential benefits they might perceive.
In conclusion, while Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park might appear as an option when searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Cuba, MO area, recent customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding unexpected amenity charges, the condition of facilities (particularly bathhouses and water pressure), and issues with management and customer service. Potential visitors should carefully consider these reported negative experiences and conduct further research, seeking more current and potentially broader feedback, before making a booking decision. It would be prudent to inquire specifically about all potential charges for amenities and the current condition of the facilities to avoid disappointment upon arrival.

Meramec Valley Campground & RV Park Reviews
Was not at all impressed nor do the pictures show the reality of this campground. We planned a weekend trip here and thought it look nice and had some nice amenities at a reasonable price. Not until we arrived and not anywhere on the brochure but on a little piece of paper we are told to use the pool, putt putt, or even fish in the lake we had to buy a $10 wristband each per day. Now if this was a water park like pool or a top tear putt putt golf or lake full of activities I might understand. If you claim all these great amenities and don’t advertise the up charge it feels dishonest. We had extremely low water pressure and the bath house was ran down and didn’t even have locks on the stall doors. It looked like a nice place online but was extremely disappointed once there. I would not recommend nor will I go back. I am editing to respond to owner. I stayed last weekend and received a slip of paper in the locker with my key and map that said anyone using the pool, putt putt, or lake must have a wristband. I did only use the one bath house across the road from the playground but it definitely didn’t look updated. One of the three toilets was out of order (that happens and wasn’t in my review) but the layers of chipping paint all over the floor and walls as well as no latch of any kind on the stalls is definitely not what I expected from what was seen on the website. I gave an honest review of how I felt about this property. I can tell you I went into the weekend with high hopes and wanting to check it out and look into a membership due to the amenities and location being only about 40 min from home.
Apr 09, 2025 · Combat 24eWe purchased a membership and then things went quickly downhill from there. We dealt with President and board agreed to remove us from deed, paperwork executed etc.. however, we still receive invoices from this business. I would not recommend dealing with them, it’s not a well ran business, they consistently nickeled and dimes us even though we paid up front, they lost reservations, gave away our reserved site, horrible customer service. The then a manager Kat was completely inept at her job.
Jan 11, 2025 · Hether Range SimmermanVery large RV park, level sites. Early in the season, so nothing was open and there were a lot of renovations that seemed to be happening. Didn't love how the bathrooms and showers were set up - very open, did not seem private enough. Management was very friendly.
Apr 27, 2025 · J RHad a blow out going down to the lake Labor Day weekend and stuck on the highway by campsite for hours (cell towers down and spare was on trailer as we had a blow out an hour prior) as it was getting late and a storm coming, one of the members from the campsite noticed and came to help. He had all different tools and started going to work right away and was able to fix it.Camper was in sketchy condition to continue to drive, he invited us back to this site where the staff was amazing and able to get us a spot last minute for the night so that we were safe and off the highway. Thank you for being welcoming! We are so blessed with this random act of kindness and knowing there are still good people out there to help others. Our family and friends are so grateful that we are safe and that this campground was very helpful and kind even at 10pm on a Friday.
Sep 05, 2024 · JuliaAs nice as this campground is, I'd be willing to argue how family-friendly it is. While at the pool, our children were harassed by an older couple. I have never in my life witnessed someone who was so hateful towards kids for being at the pool, much less swimming in it. She then continued to gossip loudly about our kids and tear them down to other pool visitors. I'm truly disappointed.
