Mt Vernon Renfro Valley Rv Park Introduce
For local residents in Kentucky seeking "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Mt Vernon, the Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park, situated at 2385 Richmond St, Mt Vernon, KY 40456, USA, presents a somewhat nuanced option. You can contact the park at (606) 256-0101 or via mobile at +1 606-256-0101. Based on recent customer feedback, this park offers a blend of advantages and drawbacks that potential local users should carefully consider.
Environment and Location: Proximity to Entertainment, Peaceful Ambiance
One of the most significant advantages of Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park is its close proximity to the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center. This makes it a potentially ideal location for local users planning to attend concerts, festivals, or other events at the venue. The convenience of having an RV park nearby eliminates the need for long commutes after an evening of entertainment.
Beyond its location relative to the entertainment center, the park is described by one reviewer as "very quiet and clean." This suggests a peaceful environment, potentially appealing to those seeking a tranquil getaway or a restful stop. The presence of a "cute little creek running alongside the park" adds to the natural ambiance, offering a pleasant backdrop for your stay. Additionally, a "big open field" is available, which is particularly beneficial for pet owners looking for space to walk their dogs.
The campsites themselves are reported to be gravel and "quite level," which is a significant positive for RVers, as level sites contribute to the comfort and stability of their setup. The large size of the sites is also noted as a benefit, providing ample space for maneuvering and setting up camp.
Services and Amenities: Basic Infrastructure, Limited Extras
Information regarding the full range of services and amenities at Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park is somewhat limited and mixed based on the available reviews. One reviewer experienced an issue with water being unavailable upon arrival due to recent flooding damage, despite confirming utility availability beforehand. While the park did accommodate a relocation to a site with water, this incident highlights a potential concern regarding the reliability of utilities and communication about their status.
Both reviewers explicitly mention the lack of certain amenities. There are "no picnic tables" and "no fire rings" at the individual campsites. This absence could be a significant drawback for local users who enjoy outdoor cooking, campfires, and having a dedicated space for outdoor meals and relaxation at their site. The first reviewer specifically noted this as a reason for their disappointment.
Beyond the basic hookups (which are implied but not detailed, aside from the water issue), there is no mention of other common RV park amenities such as laundry facilities, a camp store, recreational areas (beyond the open field), or organized activities. The second reviewer explicitly states, "...there really are no amenities..." This suggests that the park focuses primarily on providing the essential infrastructure for RV parking rather than offering extensive additional features.
Features and Highlights: Quiet Atmosphere, Large Sites, Proximity to Entertainment
The standout features of Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park appear to be its quiet and clean environment, the spacious and level gravel sites, and its convenient location for those visiting the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center. For local users prioritizing peace and quiet, as well as easy access to events at the venue, these aspects could be particularly appealing.
The presence of the creek and the open field are also noteworthy, offering natural elements that enhance the camping experience, especially for those traveling with pets. The large sites provide comfort and ease of setup, which is always a welcome feature for RV owners.
Potential Drawbacks: Price vs. Amenities, Utility Reliability, Lack of Standard Features
Despite its positives, Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park also has potential drawbacks that local users should consider. The second reviewer noted that it is "a bit on the pricier side," especially considering the limited amenities available. For budget-conscious travelers or those who value a range of on-site facilities, the cost might not justify the offerings.
The experience of the first reviewer regarding the water outage and the lack of proactive communication raises concerns about the reliability of utilities and the park's awareness of and communication regarding such issues. While the situation was eventually resolved, it underscores the importance of confirming the status of essential services before arrival, especially during times of potential environmental impact like flooding.
The absence of picnic tables and fire rings at individual sites is a significant limitation for those who enjoy traditional camping activities. The lack of other mentioned amenities further suggests a more basic camping experience compared to parks offering a wider array of facilities.
Promotional Information and Why Choose Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park:
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Mt Vernon, particularly if your primary reason for visiting the area is to attend events at the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park offers unparalleled convenience. Its proximity allows for easy access to concerts and other shows without the hassle of long drives.
If a quiet and clean environment with large, level gravel sites is high on your priority list, and you are comfortable without extensive amenities, this park may still be a suitable option. The presence of a creek and an open field provides some natural appeal, especially for dog owners.
However, local users should be aware that the park is noted as being "pricier" despite its limited amenities. It would be prudent to inquire about the current rates and confirm the availability and functionality of essential utilities, especially water, before making a reservation. If picnic tables and fire rings are important to your camping experience, you will need to consider alternative options or bring your own portable solutions if permitted by the park.
In conclusion, Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park offers a strategically advantageous location for those visiting the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center and a generally quiet and clean atmosphere with spacious sites. However, potential guests should weigh these benefits against the higher price point and the limited range of amenities, including the lack of picnic tables and fire rings, to determine if it meets their specific needs and expectations for an "RV park near me." Consider calling (606) 256-0101 to gather the most up-to-date information before making your decision.

Mt Vernon Renfro Valley Rv Park Reviews
I can’t really give a good review of this park. I called a few days ahead of my reservation to confirm utilities would be on. (Reservation listed winterizing until April 1) was told yes.Got all set up and hooked up to discover no water. Recent flooding had damaged something and it didn’t get fixed. They did let us relocate to another spot that had water, but just the idea that I called and they didn’t know the water was still down.Only advantage to staying there is proximity to the concert venues. Other than that, no real good reason to stay there. No other amenities, no picnic tables, fire rings, etc.For the price, just a real let down.I doubt I will be back.
Apr 14, 2025 · J DI really like this little park. We were there in September and then again December 28. It is a bit on the pricier side and there really are no amenities but the sites are large and the park is very quiet and clean. There was only one other RV there so there was no noise from other campers. The spaces are gravel and quite level. There’s a cute little creek running alongside the park and a big open field that we walked our dogs in. Nice place- we will be back !
Dec 29, 2024 · Christine BatesThis is the worst over priced RV park I have ever stayed at (and I have been a full time RVer for over 3 years) no picnic tables, no fire ring, the the bathrooms and showers were disgusting with no toilet paper and they advertise on the website that they take good Sam and when we get they say they don’t! Please do yourself a favor and save your money and stay somewhere else! Oh yeah and I really feel the ladies in the office could be a little more nicer after all we do pay their salaries!
Oct 27, 2024 · cindy breadsThe campgrounds is fine The place in general has gone downhill. I could not connect to the Wi-Fi and they couldn't seem to help me. They used to have cable TV now that's gone. Their stores and restaurant seem to have all closed they say they can't get anybody here to open up businesses. We love country music and would like to see this place come back. Maybe they need to put in an amusement park or something to attract people. I think if they had more people coming here entrepreneurs would finest a good place to open up their business we came to a concert and there was only two other campers here that's ridiculous. I surely hope things get better
Aug 04, 2024 · Gray DogOnce upon a time this was a nice campground. It was nice to be able to go to a concert and not have to drive afterwards. It is so run down! The bathrooms are dirty and out of date. You have to have a code to get in the bathroom which you get at the liquor store when checking in. The extra $15 dollar fee to secure a sight is a joke. There were 3 campers there on the side we were on and maybe 8 on the other side. The water spigot had no handle and they moved us to another site. No picnic tables, no cable, sketchy wifi. The help at the liquor store were a little loud and a bit inappropriate. They did however get us someone who tried to make it better but you can't improve on a disaster. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. So Sad!!!
