My Place at Pleasant Lake Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" or considering mobile home living in the Jackson, Michigan area? My Place at Pleasant Lake, also known as Pleasant Lake Mobile Homes Ct and located at 11711 Bunkerhill Rd, Jackson, MI 49201, is a mobile home park in Jackson County. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of My Place at Pleasant Lake based on the publicly available customer reviews. It is crucial to note that the feedback received indicates severe and alarming issues regarding the park's condition, management, safety, and community environment, which prospective residents must carefully and seriously consider.
Pleasant Lake is a community within Jackson County, Michigan, known for the lake of the same name. The address on Bunkerhill Road suggests a location in the vicinity of Pleasant Lake, potentially offering a more rural or lake-adjacent setting. However, the environment within the mobile home park, as described by former and presumably current residents, is far from pleasant and raises significant concerns about the quality of life and safety within the community.
While the platform category is "RV parks near me," My Place at Pleasant Lake is described as a "Mobile Homes Ct," indicating a focus on long-term residential living in mobile homes. These parks typically offer leased lots with utility hookups for manufactured homes. Given the extremely negative feedback concerning the park's upkeep, management, and safety, it is highly improbable that this would be a suitable or safe option for short-term RV stays. Individuals seeking temporary RV accommodations in the Jackson area should look for facilities specifically designed and maintained for recreational vehicles and prioritize their safety and well-being.
The customer reviews for My Place at Pleasant Lake paint a dire picture of the living conditions and management. One lengthy and detailed review from a former resident explicitly advises others to "PLEASE NEVER GO HERE!" This strong condemnation is based on a multitude of negative experiences during their tenancy in a two-bedroom trailer, for which they paid $600 per month.
A primary concern raised is the deceptive practice of requiring tenants to sign the lease "before we got to see any of the insides of the trailer." This lack of transparency is a significant red flag and suggests a potential for скрытие pre-existing problems with the units. The reviewer's initial impression of things being "fine" quickly deteriorated as numerous maintenance issues arose.
Severe maintenance neglect is a recurring theme. The reviewer details a broken shower head that was never fixed despite "THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS" of contacting the "maintenance man" (who was difficult to reach, requiring them to "go to his home and pester him"). The landlord reportedly redirected them back to the unresponsive maintenance man, leaving the issue unresolved and forcing them to rely on a "bathtub" that was only "about 4 feet long and 2 feet deep," leading them to seek showers at other people's houses for "the next several months."
Further highlighting the poor condition of the trailers, the reviewer mentions that "all of the wall plugs were so loose that when you plugged something in it almost always fell out a few minutes later," indicating potential electrical hazards and a general state of disrepair.
A critical safety issue was the stove "releasing gas into the house on ALL FOUR BURNERS" and "constantly trying to ignite." Upon calling Consumers Energy, they were informed that the stove was broken and could not be fixed on their end, requiring management intervention. The reviewer's repeated attempts to contact the maintenance man for this urgent safety hazard were again unsuccessful, demonstrating a severe lack of responsiveness to potentially life-threatening situations.
Beyond the deplorable condition of the rental units and the unresponsive management, the reviewer describes a severely disruptive and frightening community environment. They detail "crazy drunks" as neighbors – a couple with three children who were "constantly... outside screaming at the sky," followed by nightly drunken arguments. This behavior escalated to the point where the "husband" would go "door to door throughout the park asking for rides or if we had seen the other one." Most alarmingly, after someone called the police on them, the man allegedly "SCREAMED INTO THE NIGHT that the next person to call the cops on him WOULD GET RAPED." This terrifying threat indicates a complete breakdown of community safety and a potential presence of dangerous individuals within the park.
A second, more recent review echoes concerns about the community environment, stating the need for "a manager who don't know anyone in the park and can stop letting certain people get away with stuff." This suggests favoritism, a lack of impartial management, and ongoing issues with disruptive behavior, specifically "people arguing all hours of day and night."
Based on these extremely negative and alarming reviews, My Place at Pleasant Lake appears to suffer from severe deficiencies in multiple critical areas:
- Deceptive Leasing Practices: Requiring lease signing before viewing the property.
- Gross Neglect of Maintenance: Unresponsive maintenance staff and unresolved critical issues like broken showers and gas leaks.
- Unsafe Living Conditions: Loose electrical outlets and malfunctioning appliances posing safety risks.
- Dangerous Community Environment: Disruptive, threatening, and potentially violent neighbors, with allegations of inadequate management intervention.
- Lack of Management Accountability: Allegations of favoritism and failure to address ongoing community issues.
Given the severity of these issues, prospective residents are unequivocally advised to exercise extreme caution and strongly reconsider any interest in living at My Place at Pleasant Lake. If one still chooses to investigate further, thorough and cautious due diligence is absolutely essential and should include:
- Visiting the Property in Person (with extreme caution and during daylight hours): A direct observation of the park's environment and the condition of the visible properties is crucial. Be aware of your surroundings and prioritize your safety.
- Attempting to Contact Management (and meticulously documenting all interactions): Reach out to the park management at (517) 320-4411 or +1 517-320-4411 to inquire about the issues raised in the reviews. Carefully assess their responses and willingness to address these serious concerns. Document the date, time, and content of all communications.
- Attempting to Speak with Current Residents (with caution and prioritizing safety): If possible and safe, try to speak with current residents to gain insight into the current living conditions. Be mindful of the potential for intimidation or retaliation if the concerns raised in the reviews are accurate.
- Contacting Local Law Enforcement and Housing Authorities: Inquire if there have been any reports or complaints filed regarding the property or the behaviors described in the reviews.
- Thoroughly Exploring Alternative Housing Options: Given the alarming nature of the feedback, it is strongly recommended to focus your search on other mobile home parks or residential options in the Jackson area that have positive or at least less concerning reputations.
There is no information available online regarding any promotional offers for My Place at Pleasant Lake. Given the overwhelmingly negative and concerning reviews, any potential promotions should be viewed with extreme skepticism and should not outweigh the serious safety and living condition issues reported.
In conclusion, the available customer reviews for My Place at Pleasant Lake in Jackson, Michigan, paint a deeply troubling picture of a community plagued by severe maintenance neglect, unresponsive management, unsafe living conditions, and a disruptive and potentially dangerous community environment. Prospective residents are strongly advised to avoid this property and seek alternative housing options that prioritize safety, maintenance, and resident well-being. The issues reported are significant and should not be taken lightly.

My Place at Pleasant Lake Reviews
#VentyourRent So, I don't normally like to bring up bad things in the past, but I definitely would like to keep anyone from following in my footsteps into bad places. I lived in a two-bedroom trailer with my husband and best friend at Pleasant Lake Mobile Homes Ct. PLEASE NEVER GO HERE! It was $600/month which seems fine until I tell you the rest. We were made to sign the lease before we got to see any of the insides of the trailer. At first, it was fine, but then the shower head broke off of the shower and we started to notice that the walls beneath the windows were rotten and chipping away. We immediately got ahold of the maintenance man. Or I should say we tried. He never answers phone calls so we had to go to his home and pester him. We asked him on THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS to come and fix the shower. He never did. We tried to contact the landlord and he told us to get in touch with the maintenance man. We gave up on getting it fixed, which led to us having to use the bathtub. This "bathtub" was about 4 feet long and 2 feet deep. Fair to say the next several months we went to other peoples houses to get clean. Oh did I mention that also all of the wall plugs were so loose that when you plugged something in it almost always fell out a few minutes later? We thought, incorrectly, that this was the worst it would get. A couple months after the shower broke the stove started releasing gas into the house on ALL FOUR BURNERS. Like it was constantly trying to ignite. We called Consumers who came by within minutes. They told us that they couldn't fix it on our end and that the stove was just broken. So, we again tried to get in contact with the maintenance man to no avail. Now, on top of all this, our neighbors were crazy drunks. Now when I say crazy drunks I mean it was a couple with 3 kids who constantly were outside screaming at the sky, then at night these two would scream at each other drunkenly until the "wife" left and the "husband" would just start going insane. Both of them went door to door throughout the park asking for rides or if we had seen the other one. And when someone finally called the cops on them once the cops left, the man SCREAMED INTO THE NIGHT that the next person to call the cops on him WOULD GET RAPED. Suffice to say, it's a terrible place.
