I have lived here for 3 years the end of April and this community is great. The management cares and keeps the grounds in great shape. The location of the community is very convenient, close to I -94, 1/2 hour to Irish Hills, 15 minutes to Chelsea and close to Ann Arbor. Very safe community and enjoy the countryside atmosphere. Manager, Ryan, is positive and always ready to listen to the residents.Very peaceful place to live. - Joan Dawsey

Andover Introduce

Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Grass Lake, Michigan area and considering a long-term living environment? Andover, located at 1000 Cambry Cir, Grass Lake, MI 49240, USA, is a mobile home park that may offer the community and location you are seeking. They can be reached at (517) 522-4578 or via mobile at +1 517-522-4578 to inquire about residency options and availability.

When choosing a mobile home park for long-term living, it's crucial to consider various aspects such as the community atmosphere, the upkeep of the grounds, the convenience of the location, and the quality of management. Reviews from current and past residents can provide valuable, though sometimes contrasting, perspectives on these factors. The available feedback for Andover presents a somewhat mixed picture that potential residents should carefully evaluate.

One resident, who had lived in Andover for three years as of the end of April, described the community as "great." This positive review highlighted that "the management cares and keeps the grounds in great shape." This suggests that at least under previous or current management (the timeline of this review relative to others is not entirely clear), the park was well-maintained and the management was attentive to the residents' needs. The reviewer also emphasized the convenient location of Andover, noting its proximity to I-94, its half-hour distance from Irish Hills, 15 minutes from Chelsea, and its closeness to Ann Arbor. This accessibility to major routes and nearby towns could be a significant advantage for those who commute or enjoy visiting these areas. Furthermore, this resident described Andover as a "very safe community" and appreciated the "countryside atmosphere," suggesting a peaceful and secure living environment.

This positive reviewer specifically mentioned the manager, Ryan, as being "positive and always ready to listen to the residents," further reinforcing the idea of a caring and responsive management team, at least at the time of this review.

Another resident described Andover as a "very peaceful place to live," echoing the sentiment of a tranquil environment found in the first review.

However, a more critical review from a resident who had lived in the community for over a year, and whose girlfriend had lived there for four years, presents a starkly different perspective, particularly concerning "the new management." This reviewer characterized the new management as a "nightmare," alleging harassment over pets and a decline in park maintenance. Specific examples provided include the yard being dug up by a snow plow over the winter and remaining unfixed by June, a broken street light in their yard that had been broken for years (though later reported as fixed after the review was posted), and damage to their house siding from a rock thrown by a mower the previous summer, which also remained unrepaired.

This reviewer also raised concerns about inconsistent enforcement of yard maintenance expectations, noting that while residents receive notices for not weed-whacking their yards within a short timeframe, the dog park grass was allowed to become overgrown. The reviewer explicitly stated that their experience in the first summer living there was "way smoother" with "much better" previous management. Based on these negative experiences with the new management, this resident stated they "wouldn't recommend moving here if you don't want to deal with a not so pleasant manager and grounds crew," downgrading their rating from 5 stars to 2.

A significant and concerning part of this negative review details an incident involving the resident's service dog, a German Shepherd. The resident claims they were given only 24 hours (later corrected to 25 hours in a response) to remove their dog after an incident where it got loose and tried to play with another dog. The reviewer acknowledged that the other person, who reportedly works for the corporation owning the park, might have been scared due to the dog's size but maintained that the dog is not aggressive and is a trained service animal. The reviewer alleged that the other person claimed the dog attacked her dog, despite the reviewer having video evidence to the contrary, which they claim was dismissed by management. This situation led to the service dog being removed, which the resident described as taking away their "lifeline" and splitting up their family. The reviewer also contrasted this with an alleged incident where a neighbor's dog repeatedly attacked their Pomeranian with no consequences. This part of the review raises serious concerns about pet policies, management's handling of resident issues, and the treatment of service animals.

The fact that the street light in the reviewer's yard was reportedly fixed the day after the negative review was originally posted suggests that resident feedback might, at times, prompt action from the management. However, this does not negate the other serious allegations of poor maintenance and problematic pet policies.

Given these contrasting reviews, the environment and management of Andover appear to be in a state of flux or may be perceived very differently by different residents, potentially depending on the timeframe of their experience and their individual interactions with management. While the location offers convenience and the setting is described as peaceful and having a countryside atmosphere by some, others report significant issues with the current management and the upkeep of the park.

Information regarding specific services and features of Andover, such as laundry facilities, recreational areas, specific pet regulations (beyond the negative experience shared), or community events, is not detailed in the provided reviews. Therefore, prospective residents will need to inquire directly about these aspects.

Similarly, no specific promotional information is included in the reviews to highlight unique benefits of living at Andover under the current management. The positive aspects mentioned by the long-term resident might not fully reflect the current situation as perceived by others.

For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Grass Lake, MI area, Andover presents a location with potential benefits such as a convenient location and a peaceful setting. However, the serious concerns raised by a more recent reviewer regarding the new management, park maintenance, and pet policies, particularly concerning service animals, should be carefully considered. Potential residents are strongly advised to contact Andover directly, inquire in detail about the current management practices, pet policies, maintenance procedures, and speak with current residents if possible to gain a balanced perspective before making a decision about long-term living in this community.
