Once In Life Rv and Campground Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Mt Vernon, Texas area, Once In Life RV and Campground, located at 452 County Rd SW 3010, presents a picture of a developing park with both positive and negative aspects highlighted in recent customer reviews. Situated near Lake Cypress Springs and with convenient access to I-30, this campground offers a quiet environment and friendly owners, but also appears to be a work in progress with areas needing improvement.
One reviewer who stayed at Once In Life RV and Campground during an eclipse event reported a largely positive experience. They found the park to be "nice and quiet," providing a welcome opportunity to relax and unwind after travel. The presence of "great open space" was also a significant benefit, allowing children to play outdoors comfortably. The reviewer mentioned their husband's interest in returning to fish at nearby Lake Cypress, indicating the park's proximity to this recreational attraction as a potential draw for visitors interested in fishing and lake activities.
In contrast, another reviewer who had a brief overnight stay offered a more critical assessment. They described the owners as "very friendly," which is a positive aspect of the park's hospitality. However, they also noted that the park is "obviously a work in progress," suggesting that development and improvements are ongoing. Specific areas needing attention included the campsites, which "could use some attention to leveling," potentially causing discomfort or inconvenience for RV setups. Additionally, the facilities "could use some scrubbing," indicating concerns about cleanliness, which led the reviewers to opt out of using the laundry or shower facilities.
Despite these shortcomings, the second reviewer expressed optimism for the future, stating that "One day it will be a really nice place, just not now." This suggests that the park has potential but has not yet reached a fully satisfactory state in terms of infrastructure and maintenance. A significant point of concern for this reviewer was the price, which they found "quite steep for what you get." At $70 per night, their expectations were considerably higher, especially when compared to other RV parks they had stayed at during their extensive cross-country travels. The convenience of the park's location to I-30 was the primary reason for their stop, highlighting its accessibility for travelers on longer journeys.
Considering these two reviews, Once In Life RV and Campground offers a mixed experience. The quiet atmosphere and open space are definite advantages, particularly for those seeking a peaceful retreat or traveling with children. The friendly owners also contribute to a welcoming environment. The proximity to Lake Cypress Springs is a significant draw for fishing enthusiasts and those wanting to enjoy lake recreation. Furthermore, its location near I-30 makes it a convenient stopover for travelers on the interstate.
However, potential visitors should be aware that the park is described as a work in progress, with current issues regarding the leveling of campsites and the cleanliness of facilities. The relatively high nightly rate, as noted by one reviewer, might not align with the current state of the park's amenities and infrastructure. It is important for prospective guests to weigh the convenience of the location and the potential for future improvements against the current shortcomings and pricing.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Mt Vernon area, Once In Life RV and Campground could be an option to consider, especially if a quiet environment and proximity to Lake Cypress Springs are priorities. However, it would be prudent to inquire about the current status of site leveling and the cleanliness of facilities before booking a stay. Additionally, understanding the pricing structure and what is included for the nightly rate will help in making an informed decision based on value.
To obtain the most up-to-date information about the park's amenities, current conditions, and pricing, interested individuals should contact Once In Life RV and Campground directly at (903) 588-1031 or +1 903-588-1031. Given the contrasting experiences in the reviews, direct communication with the owners or management is crucial for setting realistic expectations.
In conclusion, Once In Life RV and Campground in Mt Vernon, TX, offers a quiet location with friendly owners and convenient access to I-30 and Lake Cypress Springs. However, it is currently in a developmental phase with reported issues regarding campsite leveling and facility cleanliness. The pricing has also been noted as relatively high for the current offerings. For those searching for "RV parks near me," it is recommended to contact the park directly for the most current information and to carefully consider these factors when deciding whether this campground meets their needs and budget. The park shows potential for future improvement, but prospective guests should be aware of its current state based on recent feedback.

Once In Life Rv and Campground Reviews
We stayed here during the eclipse and enjoyed it greatly! It was nice and quite, gave us a chance to relax and unwind from being stuck in a vehicle. Has great open space! The kids pulled out some toys and were able to play! My husband wants to go again so he can fish at Lake Cypress.
May 30, 2024 · Stevie EarlyWe had a quick evening/night here. The owners were very friendly. The park is obviously a work in progress…and the campsites could use some attention to leveling and the facilities could use some scrubbing. We opted not to do our laundry or use the showers. One day it will be a really nice place, just not now. The price was quite steep for what you get. At $70/nite I expected much more. It is conveniently located to I-30 and why we stopped there on our cross country trip. We have many places to compare it to as we’ve traveled in our camper for 5 weeks on this most recent trip and 8 weeks last summer and 6 weeks summer before.
Apr 06, 2024 · Micki MerlinoGreat place to unwind for the weekend! Not far from I-30, while still being in the comfort of nature. The online reservation process was simple and smooth, couldn’t have been any easier. The owners were also very friendly and helpful! Hands down, best RV park/campground around. Don’t waste your money elsewhere
Apr 19, 2024 · Chance GustafsonI just want to put a shout out to Adam and Sheena Robertson at Once in a Lifetime Rv park in Mount Vernon TX. They are very family oriented and just a phone call away as they live on site 2-3 acres away. And for the day/night time travelers passing through on the I-30 East/West corridor between Sulphur Springs and Mount Pleasant they are just 1/4 mile of the hwy. I highly recommend them, they are some great folks. I was their tenant when they opened the park last September/October and he told me he was going to have a cook out once he had more rvs come in. After 8-10 rvs he and his wife cooked for everyone and their kids. Again check them out, they are some good folks.
