Open Air Spicewood Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Spicewood, Texas area, seeking a blend of natural beauty and a peaceful atmosphere? Open Air Spicewood, located at 25928 Haynie Flat Rd, Spicewood, TX 78669, USA, presents a mixed but informative picture based on recent customer reviews. While praised for its quiet environment, cleanliness, and natural setting by some, others have reported issues with amenities and communication. For inquiries and reservations, you can contact them at (512) 559-4284 or +1 512-559-4284. Potential guests should weigh the positive aspects against the reported drawbacks to determine if this park meets their needs.
The environment at Open Air Spicewood is lauded in several reviews for its tranquility and natural beauty. One guest described it as a "great place" that has "it all," emphasizing its quiet and organized nature. The park is situated in a "beautiful natural area," suggesting a setting that allows guests to connect with the outdoors and enjoy the scenery of the Texas Hill Country. The presence of "lots of trees" (mentioned in a review for a nearby park but potentially applicable here given the area) would contribute to a shaded and pleasant environment, especially during the warmer months. The overall atmosphere seems to be one of peace and relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle.
Cleanliness appears to be a strong suit of Open Air Spicewood. Multiple reviews highlight the park's commitment to maintaining clean facilities. Guests have specifically mentioned "very nice and clean restrooms and showers," as well as the park being "very clean and organized" overall. This attention to hygiene is a significant positive for any RV park, ensuring a comfortable and healthy stay for visitors. Cleanliness in shared facilities like restrooms and showers is often a key factor in guest satisfaction.
A unique feature of Open Air Spicewood is a "nice little pond with tree swings." This amenity offers a charming and relaxing spot for guests to unwind and enjoy the view. The tree swings add a touch of whimsy and could be particularly appealing to families or those seeking a peaceful way to spend their time at the park. The pond itself likely enhances the natural beauty of the area and may attract local wildlife, adding to the serene ambiance.
The staff at Open Air Spicewood are described as "very friendly" in one positive review. Friendly and helpful staff can significantly improve the guest experience, making visitors feel welcome and providing assistance with any needs or questions. Positive interactions with park personnel can contribute to a more enjoyable and stress-free stay.
Another reviewer specifically recommends Open Air Spicewood for "long term renters," noting that it "seems like it's near a safe neighborhood, quiet, and clean." This suggests that the park is well-suited for individuals or families looking for a longer-term residential option in a secure and peaceful environment. The proximity to a safe neighborhood adds to the appeal for those seeking a stable and secure living situation.
However, it is crucial to consider the negative experiences reported by another guest who was looking for a "fun getaway." This reviewer's expectations, possibly influenced by a TikTok video, were not met. A significant issue was that "the pool was broken and the pond was low." The unavailability of the pool, a key recreational amenity, and the low water level in the pond significantly limited activities, especially for a family with a 7-year-old. This indicates that while the park may have recreational features, their operational status can vary and may not always be as expected.
This negative review also points to issues with communication and service. The office reportedly "forgot to leave our welcome packet in the mailbox like they said they would," even after the guest called to inform them of a late arrival. This oversight suggests a lack of attention to detail or potential communication breakdowns. Furthermore, the confirmation email mentioned "trash pickup at the curb in the morning which never happen either." This failure to provide a basic service as advertised further detracts from the guest experience and indicates potential inconsistencies in service delivery.
The reviewer's disappointment led them to conclude, "Probably won't be back for what we got." This highlights the importance of managing guest expectations and ensuring that advertised amenities and services are available and functioning as described.
Based on these reviews, Open Air Spicewood appears to offer a generally quiet and clean environment in a beautiful natural setting, with a friendly staff. These aspects could be particularly appealing to those seeking a peaceful retreat or a longer-term stay. The pond with tree swings is a unique and attractive feature. However, potential guests should be aware that amenities like the pool may be out of service, and the condition of the pond's water level can fluctuate. Additionally, there seem to be inconsistencies in communication and service delivery, as highlighted by the issues with the welcome packet and trash pickup.
Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any information about specific promotional offers or discounts at Open Air Spicewood. To learn about any current specials, seasonal rates, or incentives for longer stays, it is recommended to contact the park directly using the phone numbers provided. When booking, it would also be wise to inquire about the current status of amenities like the pool and pond, as well as to confirm the procedures for check-in and services such as trash pickup to ensure a smoother experience.
In conclusion, Open Air Spicewood offers a potentially pleasant experience for those seeking a quiet and clean RV park in a natural setting near Spicewood, TX. The friendly staff and unique features like the pond with tree swings are definite positives. However, prospective guests should be aware of the potential for broken or low-functioning amenities and possible inconsistencies in communication and service. It is advisable to contact the park directly for the most up-to-date information on amenities and services and to manage expectations accordingly. While it seems to be a well-regarded option for long-term renters seeking a safe and quiet environment, short-term visitors looking for specific recreational amenities should verify their availability before booking.

Open Air Spicewood Reviews
Great place. Open Air has it all. Quiet, very clean and organized. Beautiful natural area with very nice and clean restrooms and showers. Nice little pond with tree swings so you relax and enjoy the view. Very friendly staff . Looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended .
Mar 24, 2025 · Loren JenningsI would definitely recommend for long term renters. It seems like it's near a safe neighborhood, quiet, and clean.I don't recommend for a fun getaway. The tiktok I saw about this place really ramped up the fun factor. The pool was broken and the pond was low. That didn't leave much for us to do with a 7 year old. The office even forgot to leave our welcome packet in the mailbox like they said they would, even after I called to let them know we would arrive after 5pm. The confirmation email says trash pickup at the curb in the morning which never happen either. Probably won't be back for what we got.
Dec 13, 2024 · Ashley PWe very much enjoyed our stay at Open Air Rv Resort in Spicewood :) My husband and I stayed here for a month. We love the location as we have good friends in the area. The rolling hills and sunsets are gorgeous. The local nearby market on Sundays, the Pedernales Market, is so amazing. Get the dumplings! The park was quiet and relaxed. We enjoyed the amenities and vibe. It was overall a really lovely stay and we will be staying here again!
Dec 02, 2024 · Ally PayettaBecause of unexpected work being done on our home we had to move out for 24 hours. Open Air Resort is located just 5 minutes from our home. We loaded up our RV, took the dogs and moved to Open Air. The park is well maintained, very quiet. It offers .a lot of amenities that we didn’t utilize because of our short stay. It’s a very pleasant park that I gladly recommend.
Oct 18, 2024 · Christine MerrillWe were told they are under new management, which they are, and that they really turned the park around, which they have not. The pond is disgusting, there are burrs and goat heads everywhere. My dog couldn't even walk around. The water from their connection sprayed everywhere. I had to put a garbage bag over it and just fill my fresh water tank so we didn't flood.I have to say the new management is great and knows the issues. I feel they want to build a small home community versus an RV park. They are friendly and the club house and pool area are immaculate.I wouldn't stay due to the burrs and goat heads literally everywhere, but hopefully they upgrade it and make this place what it really can be.
