Understanding the experiences of current residents can provide valuable insights into the community environment and management of a mobile home park. Online reviews often offer a glimpse into the day-to-day life within the community. It's important to consider various perspectives to gain a balanced understanding.
Recent feedback from residents of Palm Key Village presents a mixed view. One resident expressed frustration regarding the upkeep of community amenities, specifically mentioning the basketball courts being out of service for over four months. This resident highlighted that this amenity is paid for by all community members and questioned the lack of urgency in addressing the issue. They noted a significant revenue reported by the parent company, Sun Communities, and suggested the repair cost for the basketball court issue seemed minimal. The temporary solution of placing a trash can over the damage was also mentioned as inadequate.
In contrast, another recent review shared a very positive experience, particularly highlighting the welcoming and helpful nature of the staff during the process of purchasing a first home in Palm Key Village. This new resident specifically praised the team at "The Ridge" and expressed gratitude for the kindness and support received from the desk staff to the maintenance personnel. Special recognition was given to the Office Coordinator, Sonya, who served as the main point of contact. The reviewer described Sonya as an "absolute angel" who was incredibly supportive, patiently answered all questions, clearly explained necessary information, and effectively liaised with third parties. As first-time homebuyers, they particularly appreciated her patience and clear communication. The positive experience culminated in a welcome basket from Sonya and the District Manager, Rhonda, after closing. This resident expressed love for Palm Key Village, describing it as a peaceful, beautiful, and friendly community to call home.
These contrasting reviews illustrate that experiences within Palm Key Village can vary. While one resident expresses concerns about the maintenance of amenities, another highlights a very positive experience with the staff and the overall community atmosphere, especially during the home buying process.
When searching for "RV parks near me," you might also come across mobile home parks listed on the same platforms. While RV parks typically cater to temporary stays for recreational vehicles, mobile home parks offer a more permanent residential option with manufactured homes. Platforms often categorize these differently, but sometimes they may appear in similar search results due to location-based queries.
Palm Key Village, as a mobile home park, provides a different type of living experience compared to an RV park. Residents typically own or rent their manufactured homes and lease the land within the community. Mobile home parks often offer a range of amenities and services designed for longer-term living, fostering a sense of community among residents.
Based on the positive review, Palm Key Village appears to have a strong sense of community and a supportive staff, particularly noted during the home buying process. The mention of a welcome basket suggests a welcoming environment for new residents. The description of the community as "peaceful, beautiful, and friendly" further indicates a positive living atmosphere for some residents.
However, the concern raised about the delayed repair of the basketball courts is a point that prospective residents might want to inquire about. The availability and maintenance of amenities are important factors to consider when choosing a long-term living community.
When considering Palm Key Village, it would be beneficial to inquire about the community's amenities, their maintenance schedules, and the process for addressing resident concerns. Understanding the management's responsiveness to community needs is crucial for a positive living experience.
Davenport, Florida, offers a central location with access to various attractions and services. Palm Key Village Reviews
I have to really ask, when is the basketball courts going to be fixed. 4+months of an amenity that is paid for by everyone in the community being out of service is uncalled for. We love this community but in complete honesty where is the sense of urgency. Sun communities reported $3.1 billion in 2023 and everyone's rent went up, I pretty sure this small hole in the court could have been fixed the day after it happen for roughly $100. Instead of fixing, the courts have been locked for 4+ months and the solution is to put a trash can over the hole.
Apr 12, 2025 · Josh ShafferMy boyfriend and I recently purchased our first home in Palm Key Village and we couldn’t be more excited to be living in this wonderful community! The staff of The Ridge welcomed us with open arms from the very first visit. Everyone, from the people at the desk to the maintenance staff, was extremely kind and helpful. The Office Coordinator Sonya was our main point of contact during the entire process and she is an absolute angel! She answered all of our questions and was incredibly supportive every step of the way. She clearly explained everything we needed and what it would be used for, while serving as a go between for us and third parties. As first-time home buyers, we truly appreciate her patience and clear communication. At closing, Sonya and the District Manager Rhonda surprised us with a lovely welcome basket after everything was completed. We love Palm Key Village and are so blessed to be able to call this peaceful, beautiful, and friendly community home!
Nov 10, 2023 · Destinie LindsayPaying ver 1000 for lot rent, garbage and add on tax, really tough it you have to pay mortgage too. Low crime and ok place however pool is always dirty. Tennis court not keep up with. Have to pay to cut Palm trees on our rented properties, yet tree in common areas have lots of dead branches. Not gated but pretty Quiet and nice to live.Every year to lot rent goes up you’ll see a bunch of sales.
Mar 27, 2025 · Petra CatoggeWe are so in love with the community. My hubby and I purchased it 9 months ago. The staff is great. Sonya and Martha very supportive. We love that fact they communicate any news and issues via email and we are so grateful. Beautiful, Clean and Peaceful is how we like it... Thank you to the Ridge staff...
Jan 02, 2024 · JOYCE HAYDENMy girlfriend and I recently purchased our first-ever home together in Palm Key Village and are excited to begin the next chapter of our lives here! From the moment we first visited The Ridge sales office just up the street, the entire staff (but especially Office Coordinator Sonya and District Manager Rhonda) warmly welcomed us and guided us through every step of the home buying process. As we expected, the process took multiple weeks featuring some twists and turns along the way. Throughout it, Sonya went above and beyond to ensure good and accurate communication flowed between their office, us, and all of the essential third parties. When we had to sign important documents, Sonya and Rhonda both explained each one's significance thoroughly so we knew exactly what was going on and what is expected of us as community residents. And, at our closing (once all of the hard work was complete), they even surprised us with a welcome gift! We are so grateful for this office team's kindness, honesty, hard work, and integrity; are delighted we've established a good working relationship; and have purchased a home in this peaceful, safe, well-kept place!
