Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Davenport, Florida area? If so, you've likely come across various options, each promising a unique experience for you and your recreational vehicle. In this detailed introduction, we aim to provide local users with an objective overview of Florida Camp Inn, located at 1000 Main St, Davenport, FL 33897, USA. Understanding the nuances of each RV park is crucial in making an informed decision that suits your needs and preferences. Let's delve into what Florida Camp Inn offers, drawing upon available information to give you a comprehensive picture.
Florida Camp Inn can be contacted via phone at (863) 204-2300 or mobile at +1 863-204-2300. These contact details are essential for any inquiries you might have regarding availability, specific amenities, or booking procedures. As a local user exploring "RV parks near me," having readily available contact information is a valuable first step in your research process.
When considering an RV park, several factors come into play, including the environment, the services and amenities offered, and any unique features that set it apart. While specific details about the natural environment surrounding Florida Camp Inn are not explicitly provided in the given information, Davenport, Florida, is situated in Polk County, known for its central location within the state. This often translates to easy access to various attractions, including theme parks, natural landscapes, and urban centers. For local users, this proximity to key areas can be a significant advantage.
However, it's crucial to also consider the experiences of other RVers who have stayed at Florida Camp Inn. The provided reviews offer firsthand accounts that can shed light on the day-to-day reality of the park. These reviews mention concerns regarding recent rent increases, suggesting a potential shift in the cost of staying at the park. One reviewer noted a significant rent jump over the past two years, reaching a substantial monthly fee, with additional charges for trash disposal and mandatory online payment processing fees. For local users on a budget, understanding the full cost implications is paramount.
Furthermore, the reviews highlight significant infrastructure issues. Recurring water outages, reportedly occurring every 2-4 weeks, can be a major inconvenience for RV dwellers who rely on a consistent water supply for daily living. Additionally, concerns were raised about the electrical and plumbing infrastructure, with one particularly alarming incident involving a pet being electrocuted due to exposed wiring. These are serious safety considerations that potential visitors should be aware of.
The state of the facilities is another area of concern raised in the reviews. While a new company reportedly took over and mentioned renovations, at least one reviewer found the bathhouses to remain in poor condition even after the supposed upgrades, suggesting that the improvements may have been superficial or not addressed critical areas. This discrepancy between promised improvements and actual conditions is something local users might want to verify if considering a stay.
Beyond the essential utilities and facilities, the availability of recreational amenities can significantly impact the overall RV park experience, especially for families. One review points out a lack of amenities for children, such as a playground, which could be a drawback for families with young kids looking for "RV parks near me" that offer on-site activities. The park is also mentioned as having only one small pool, which might be insufficient to accommodate all guests, especially during peak seasons.
In summary, the provided information paints a picture of Florida Camp Inn that warrants careful consideration for local users searching for "RV parks near me." While the location in Davenport offers potential access to surrounding areas and attractions, the customer reviews raise concerns about increasing costs, frequent utility issues (particularly water and potentially electricity), the condition of facilities, and limited recreational amenities, especially for children. The significant rent increases, coupled with reported infrastructure problems, appear to be driving some long-term residents to seek alternative accommodations.
As a local user, it would be prudent to weigh these points against your specific needs and priorities. If cost is a major factor, the reported rent increases and additional fees should be carefully considered. Similarly, the concerns about water outages and electrical safety are critical aspects to evaluate for a comfortable and safe stay. If you are traveling with children, the lack of a playground might influence your decision.
Before making a booking, it would be beneficial to conduct further research. This could include checking more recent reviews on various platforms to see if any improvements have been made or if the issues persist. Contacting Florida Camp Inn directly to inquire about the current status of renovations, utility infrastructure, and pricing policies is also highly recommended. Asking specific questions based on the concerns raised in the existing reviews can provide valuable insights.
Exploring other "RV parks near me" in the Davenport area is also a wise approach. Comparing the amenities, pricing, and recent customer experiences of different parks will allow you to make a well-informed decision that best suits your requirements. There may be other options in the vicinity that offer a better balance of cost, amenities, and overall quality based on your individual needs.
In conclusion, while Florida Camp Inn is geographically located within the Davenport area, making it a potential option for those searching for "RV parks near me," the available customer feedback highlights several areas of concern that prospective visitors should be aware of. These include rising costs, infrastructure issues, and potentially limited amenities. Local users are encouraged to conduct thorough due diligence and consider all available information before making a decision regarding their stay at Florida Camp Inn.

Florida Camp Inn Reviews
Rent keeps going up and water is constantly having issues, expect water outages every 2-4 weeks. A new company bought out the park and said they were going to remodel but all they did was repaint the roads and the bathhouses are still disgusting even after their “renovations”. A coat of paint doesn’t justify $300 rent increase. No wonder why half the lots are leaving or for sale now, trying to get out of here asap.
Mar 26, 2025 · Britta CulbertsonThere are many RV parks in the area and this one here is by far the LOWEST MOST DISGUSTING place around. Let me explain: first of all the lot rent has jumped over 300% in the last 2 years. The newest is $725 plus they charge you to dump your own trash in their dumpsters which brings the total to 750 monthly. Now. They also FORCE you to pay lot rent via their own online portal which charges you an additional 3%+ on top of the lot rent. RIDICULOUS I KNOW but there's more...... Compare to other parks in the area, the park needs MAJOR UPDATES to the electric and plumbing under the ground. There is a water main break at least 2 to 3x per month! With the electric, a poor dog was walking along minding their business and stopped like dogs do, to pee on one of the posts that hold the electric meters to each unit. The poor dog was electrocuted due to exposed wiring under the ground. There is literally NOTHING for kids to do in the park (no playground) so the MANY kids in the park run amuck getting into mischief. The place only has ONE small pool. So to wrap this up for the ridiculous price this place wants to charge Compare to others, RUN! You have been updated with 100% FACTS folks no sugar coat here. Best of luck and choose anywhere but here
Jan 30, 2025 · Elijah PrentisIf there are any positive reviews above 1 star, I can personally guarantee you they came from someone who works for this park, albeit from the property management company or the direct staff at this dump! They also discount folks lot rent in effort to BUY positive reviews. If this were an honest forum Florida Camp Inn would in fact be a 1star property. I wouldn't even know where to begin expressing the absolute catastrophe that is FCI. As a previous poster wrote: the plumbing & electrical is the worst that you could imagine plus some. The staff in the office are the most ignorant corporate butt kissing people you will ever meet! There is ZERO CARE for the residents who actually pay their salaries. The only thing Oakwood (property management company in charge) care about is MONEY! THAT'S IT. JUST THE PROFIT COMING IN. FCI once used to care about the residents as people but not anymore. You are a lot # that's it nothing more but lots less. The CRIME & DRUGS in this place you could compare to an intercity poor neighborhood! What once was a beautiful place to live (full or part-time) is now nothing more then a run down TRAILER PARK! If you are looking to rent a lot here, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU RUN FAR FAR AWAY from this trailer park
Jan 31, 2025 · Vinnie SaccoOur family has lived here for 2 years. Bonita and Roger are amazing managers. We never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. Any problems occured Roger helped us that day. We are actually sad to be leaving this camp ground and will miss it. Roger and Bonita made it feel like home. Great price friendly neighbors. We homeschooled our two children while living here so it is family friendly. Thank you for the last 2 years we are so grateful.
