Apr 26, 2025 · Marlene SpearsJust a great clean, clean, CLEAN RV campground! Rick the manager was friendly and outgoing. We have been RVing the last 4 months and on our last stayed at The Park on Whiskey Creek. Wonderful modern, clean and sparkling bathrooms, laundry room and everywhere you look things are new, clean and you can see how attentive the manager and owners are. This location just 15 minutes from Hwy 44 and located next to a lovely fishing lake and dam is awesome ..we will be returning!
Mar 23, 2025 · Fred JosephThe Park on Whiskey Road is a great place to stay. We stayed there for 4 months. The bathrooms were the best we have seen continually clean; temperature well controlled and other campers were very respectful. The laundry room the same. The staff great communicators and very diligent about keeping the park up to date and manicured. The Grand Lake area has much to see and experience. The restaurants provided great variety of food options. There is a grocery store within a mile of the park. Also, two hardware stores with propane tank fills and pharmacies as well. We had great WIFI and TV reception for local channels. We did not have any outages of electricity, WIFI, sewer, or gate security while there during heat, cold or snow and ice. We will be back to stay again as the monthly rate was reasonable for the area for the top-notch facilities.
Mar 18, 2025 · R WhiteThis was a lovely place to stay, atmosphere wise. Lovely sites and different amenities! My issue was with the staff. I had a service dog and per the ADA, leash laws do not apply if your disability or dog's work can not be completed with a leash on. It is still required to have some sort of harness or another on the animal, to ensure safety, but other than that it is not required. I was making my way to the restrooms with said service animal and a staff member, male, was giving me funny looks. After I finished I was making my way back to my site when he came out to greet a guest. This is where I will admit my own blunder, I was focused on making sure I wouldn't fall and accidentally allowed my dog to wonder to the guest. While this is a mistake she made, she very rarely gets distracted and so I hadn't paid any mind of checking if she was behind me. The staff member called out "you're dog needs to be on a leash!!" I calmly responded back "she's a service animal!" And called her back to me. I had hoped at that point the staff had been educated in ADA laws and that would be the end of it, but sadly apparently was not. He was quite rude announcing "I don't care what type of animal it is, it needs to be on a leash!!" I was a little bit stunned and annoyed, and I'm sure it showed on my face. There were a few other instances that I wasn't pleased with, but this was the biggest one. I hope that this is brought to the attention of the owner and that he will educate his staff accordingly.EDIT: My biggest issue was how your staff handled it, rather than being courteous he chose to, quite frankly, yell at a young lady. From my standpoint that is almost never appropriate:(. Absolutely I would understand if my animal was reactive or growling that it would raise concern. But as a trained service animal she is has gone through rigorous training and certifications that prove her to be a calm work dog. She has no history of any aggression. Again it(being leash laws) is not required if your animal cannot complete its work with it on. Unfortunately for you, you made no effort to point out the camp rules when my family came into the property and rented a site. There wasn't even a comment made about a place online where we could read the rules. I would not have stayed there if in the rules it was clearly stated that it wasn't going to comply with ADA laws. Hopefully, at the very least, you can review with yourself and your staff on how to be polite to guests even in moments of discomfort. (PS if you're worried about a domesticated animals harming you or your guests, you should probably ask owners immediately if they have a history of aggression and make the decision to allow them on your property.)
