If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the Norton Shores, Michigan area, Pontaluna Shores Mobile Home Park, located at 1281 E Pontaluna Rd Lot 132, Norton Shores, MI 49456, USA, is a community that warrants consideration. You can contact them at (231) 798-8175 or via their mobile number, +1 231-798-8175.
When exploring "RV parks near me," factors like the environment, accessibility, community atmosphere, and available services are typically high on the list of priorities. Pontaluna Shores Mobile Home Park, while primarily a mobile home park, offers insights into these aspects through the feedback shared by its residents. This information can be valuable for those who might be open to considering a mobile home park as part of their search for "RV parks near me," especially for potentially longer-term stays or if seeking a community with certain characteristics.
One resident describes Pontaluna Shores as a "very nice place" that is "laid back" and "tucked away," suggesting a sense of peace and privacy. Despite this tucked-away feel, it boasts "incredibly close freeway access," which is a significant convenience for those needing to commute or travel. The residents are noted as "pretty friendly," contributing to a positive community atmosphere. Management is characterized as "pretty hands-off yet reasonable," which can be appealing to those who prefer a degree of autonomy while still having responsive management when needed. The park is also generally "pretty quiet," although the reviewer mentions that local children can sometimes be noisy, which is considered a normal aspect of family-friendly environments. The presence of many children of various ages is seen as a positive for their social development.
Another unique environmental feature mentioned is the presence of train tracks along the park's edge. While one might expect this to be disruptive, the reviewer notes that it is "not as loud as you'd expect" and even becomes "kinda soothing after a bit," with the trains becoming a novel and even anticipated event. Furthermore, the train tracks offer a practical benefit as a shortcut for walking to nearby local businesses such as Wesco, Speedway, and Dollar General, enhancing the convenience of the location.
An update indicates that the park was under new management at the time of the edit, but it remained "still much the same" in terms of its overall character. This suggests a degree of stability despite the change in management. The reviewer also points out the convenient location of a MATS bus stop at the park's entrance, along with a storage facility. Additionally, Grand Haven's bus services are accessible nearby on Harvey Street, highlighting good public transportation links.
However, there are also some points of concern raised. One is that rates have been increasing recently, with changes to billing including garbage service and higher water costs. This is an important consideration for those mindful of expenses when looking at "RV parks near me" or any residential option.
An edit to one of the reviews mentions a management support for a political figure, displayed with a "prominent sign" in front of the office. The reviewer advises to "take that as you will," indicating that this might be a factor that influences individual perceptions of the community or its management.
Finally, a more specific issue was raised about a wasp nest in a laundry vent, with the reviewer stating that the park would not assist in its removal, leading to an inability to comfortably sit outside due to fear of being attacked. This suggests a potential issue with pest control or the park's responsiveness to such problems.
Considering these various points, Pontaluna Shores Mobile Home Park offers a laid-back environment with friendly residents, relatively hands-off yet reasonable management, and convenient access to freeways, local businesses, and public transportation. The presence of children and nearby train tracks are environmental factors that residents seem to adapt to positively. However, rising rates, the political stance of the management as displayed publicly, and the reported lack of assistance with a wasp nest are aspects that potential residents should be aware of.
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in Norton Shores, MI, Pontaluna Shores might appeal if a conveniently located, relatively quiet community with friendly residents is a priority. However, it would be wise to inquire about the current rates, services included, and the park's policies on maintenance and pest control, especially if considering a longer-term stay in an RV. Understanding if and how RVs are accommodated here, along with the specific amenities provided for them, would be crucial in making an informed decision.
In conclusion, Pontaluna Shores Mobile Home Park in Norton Shores, MI, accessible via the provided phone numbers, presents a community with a blend of positive attributes like its convenient location and friendly atmosphere, alongside potential drawbacks such as increasing rates and the issues raised in the edited reviews. For individuals exploring "RV parks near me," it is recommended to weigh these factors and contact the management directly to ascertain if this community meets your specific needs and preferences for environment, services, and overall living experience.

Pontaluna Shores Mobile Home Park Reviews
Very nice place. Laid back, tucked away, but with incredibly close freeway access. Residents are pretty friendly, management is pretty hands-off yet reasonable, and the place is pretty quiet. The local kids can make a racket, but... they're kids. And there's enough of them at various ages for social groups to form and overlap, which is awesome for them both finding friends and developing socially. There are train tracks running alongside the park's edge, but it's not as loud as you'd expect. It's kinda soothing after a bit and I actually look forward to the trains simply due to the novelty. Also, the tracks are a shortcut if walking to the local businesses (Wesco, Speedway, Dollar General).Under new management at the time of this edit. Still much the same. Forgot to mention that there's a MATS bus stop conveniently located at the park's entrance, along with a storage facility. Grand Haven's busses are likewise accessible just around the bend on Harvey Street.Rates have been going up recently, with garbage being included in the billing and water being more expensive.*Edit*Management supports Trump with a prominent sign in front of their office. Take that as you will.

Oct 10, 2024 · michelle hutchinsWe love it here. We have lived here about a year and it's awesome.. All the neighbors know each other and pretty much mind there own. Quiet for the most part except the train because we are by the tracks.. Our kids think it's cool to watch them tho so it doesn't bother us! With the new owners the place is getting nicer every day! 😊
Jun 19, 2019 · Kallie ThomaNice community from what I have experienced! The lot rent is very generous!!
Nov 10, 2024 · Lisa MorissonTrash everywhere, cars parked in every direction, people always fighting and arguing, management sucks at their job, and I personally would not like to live their. Used to be alot nicer. It used to have a playground, all in all someone dropped the ball. Management seems not to care about ongoing issues in safety around the park. I feel that the tenants are the route of most of the problems though. Blatant drug use throughout the park. Family of mine lives at the park, and I see problem after problem when visiting this " neck of the woods"
