Rainbow RV Resort Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Eatonville, Washington area, hoping for a scenic lakeside getaway with proximity to Mount Rainier National Park? Rainbow RV Resort, located at 34217 Tanwax Ct E, offers a picturesque setting that has garnered both enthusiastic praise and some critical feedback from recent visitors.
On the positive side, many guests have described Rainbow RV Resort as a "fantastic place" with "amazing people." Its location is a significant draw, with sites situated just "feet from the lake," providing stunning waterfront access. Adding to the scenic beauty is the "view of Mount Rainier," offering a majestic backdrop to your camping experience. The atmosphere is frequently described as "completely calm and peaceful," suggesting a tranquil environment for relaxation.
For those looking to enjoy the lake, Rainbow RV Resort offers the convenience of renting boating and fishing equipment, making it easy for families and individuals to engage in water-based activities. The fishing is reportedly "very active," appealing to anglers seeking a rewarding experience. The park's location is also highlighted as a "perfect home base" for exploring the surrounding area, being the "closest to Mount Rainier" and offering opportunities for "wildlife" viewing. Guests have appreciated the advice provided by the staff on local attractions and safety during a heat wave, indicating a helpful and considerate management team.
The functional aspects of the RV sites have also been commended, with reviewers noting that "all the hook ups worked perfectly." Additionally, the park's proximity to waterfalls and other regional attractions, such as a zoo, makes it a convenient location for exploring the diverse offerings of the area. The kindness of the people encountered at the resort, including the helpfulness in recovering a lost item, further contributes to a positive overall impression for some visitors.
However, it is crucial to consider the concerns raised in other recent reviews to gain a balanced perspective. One significant issue reported by a guest involves the owner's dogs, which are said to "roam free and bark at all hours." This reviewer advises against expecting a peaceful stay without being disturbed by these animals, noting the presence of "1 or 6 of the infinitely roaming animals." This could be a significant drawback for those seeking a quiet and undisturbed camping experience.
Another concerning review details the condition of the bathroom facilities, stating that users "will be sitting with your knees touching a curtain that appears to have blood and poop on it." This raises serious questions about the cleanliness and maintenance of these essential amenities, which could significantly impact the comfort and hygiene of guests.
Furthermore, the size of the RV spaces has been criticized, with one reviewer stating, "The spaces are tighter than any RV park I have ever been to in 15 years of travel." This lack of space could make maneuvering larger RVs challenging and reduce the overall sense of privacy and comfort at your campsite.
Finally, a comment regarding the owner suggests a potential inconsistency in the application of rules, stating, "The owner seems to have rules for thee, but not for himself." This perception of unfairness in management could detract from the overall guest experience.
In summary, Rainbow RV Resort offers a beautiful lakeside location with stunning views of Mount Rainier and convenient access to boating, fishing, and nearby attractions. The staff has been praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, potential guests should be aware of recent negative feedback concerning roaming dogs causing noise, unsanitary bathroom conditions, and cramped RV site spacing. The management's approach to rules has also been questioned by one reviewer.
If you are considering Rainbow RV Resort as one of the "RV parks near me," it is advisable to weigh the allure of the location and available activities against the reported issues with noise from roaming dogs, bathroom cleanliness, and site size. Contacting the park directly at (360) 879-5115 or +1 360-879-5115 to inquire about their current policies regarding pets, the condition of their facilities, and the size of their RV sites may help you make a more informed decision. While the location and some aspects of the resort are highly praised, addressing the concerns raised in recent reviews is crucial for ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Ultimately, Rainbow RV Resort presents a mixed picture based on recent online reviews. The natural beauty of its location and the availability of recreational activities are significant positives. However, the reported issues with roaming dogs, bathroom cleanliness, and tight spaces are factors that potential guests should carefully consider before booking their stay.

Rainbow RV Resort Reviews
Fantastic place and amazing people. You are feet from the lake and there is a view of Mount Rainier. The areas completely calm and peaceful. You can rent boating and fishing equipment for the family. It’s a perfect home base and is the closest to Mount Rainier, and wildlife. Everyone there was great and gave us advice on what to do and not because of the heat wave. All the hook ups worked perfectly. It’s close to waterfalls as well. We did the zoo, Mount Rainier, and various activities in the area. Everyone was very kind. We even lost a key for our hitch lock which they found and are mailing back to us. Great place to take the family and see the area. Very active fishing and a relaxing spot. Me and the family will be back again. Also me just to come for the fishing!

Apr 30, 2025 · El WCame here for a fri-sat fishing trip & I was a little hesitant while reading some google reviews.. however it was a great stay & would come back again! We were the 1st tent campers for the season & the tent sites were great, clean bathrooms & very friendly staff. Easy access to fishing at the dock & easily was able to rent a boat to fish. all prices were very reasonable & affordable. All the rv campers were friendly as well as the great staff. family friendly & overall a great time. Was able to catch a few perch. 10/10
Apr 14, 2024 · Aaron KimThis is a very beautiful and friendly place! The owners treated me like family as soon as I arrived. Eatonville is a few minutes up the road with great restaurants and miles of trails to explore.
Aug 11, 2024 · Glenn ImkeThis place is absolutely freaking AMAZING!!! We will go back a thousand times. I 100% recommend everything. The milkshakes were so delicious and perfectly sized. The docks were clean and well taken care of. The rules were clearly stated for animals and fishing. Boat rental was easy. The BEST part.... The customer service was just like family.
