Based on recent customer feedback, Rocky Ridge Mobile Home Park appears to be a community undergoing a period of transition and improvement, but with significant historical and ongoing challenges. One reviewer noted that the park has been "cleaned up in the last few years" and that it "was bad for drinking and drugs" with "the homes were ran down." This paints a picture of a community that has faced considerable issues in the past. The reviewer also mentioned a change in ownership and stated that the park "is slowly getting there," indicating ongoing efforts towards improvement. Despite these efforts, the reviewer still described it as "a great place for low income housing" while acknowledging that "still some drugs and theirs living there," suggesting that while progress is being made, some of the previous issues persist.
In stark contrast, another reviewer provided a deeply concerning account of their experience at Rocky Ridge Mobile Home Park. They described it as a "horrible neighborhood" where "nothing but drug people live there" and claimed that "the place is trashed an looked horribly." This individual did acknowledge that "the owner hung is a nice guy but never calls professional help to fix things like hearing an air." This is a critical point, as the reviewer then detailed a series of hazardous issues within their remodeled mobile home, including a malfunctioning heating and air conditioning system that allegedly almost caused a fire involving themselves, their infant son, husband, and two dogs. They reported extremely high power bills (reaching "$400$ an up") due to the faulty heating system and recounted multiple instances where the owner attempted to fix it himself without success.
The situation escalated to a dangerous electrical fire originating from the heater's external wiring. The reviewer stated that they were fortunate to wake up in time due to their son's screaming, as smoke filled the room. They expressed significant distress over the owner's alleged delay in responding to the emergency, claiming it took him two hours to arrive despite living nearby and seeing the smoke. This harrowing account raises serious concerns about the safety and maintenance of the properties within Rocky Ridge Mobile Home Park and the responsiveness of the management to critical issues.
The reviewer also mentioned calling the power company to investigate the high bills and the "falling apart wiring wise," further underscoring the potential for unsafe electrical conditions. They claimed the owner told them they "don't have the right to call out professional help," which, if true, would be a significant issue regarding tenant rights and safety. Ultimately, this family felt compelled to leave the park due to these unsafe living conditions, highlighting a severe negative experience within the community.
Given these starkly contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive picture of Rocky Ridge Mobile Home Park. The first review suggests a community striving for improvement but still facing challenges related to drugs and the socio-economic status of its residents. The second review, however, paints a picture of severe neglect, unsafe living conditions, and a potentially unresponsive management, culminating in a dangerous electrical fire. This account raises significant red flags regarding the safety and habitability of at least some of the homes within the park.
From the perspective of 'RV Parks Near Me', the information available does not provide any details about whether Rocky Ridge Mobile Home Park accommodates recreational vehicles. The focus of the reviews is solely on the experiences of mobile home residents. Therefore, local users specifically seeking RV parks in the Thomasville, NC area would need to contact the park directly to inquire about any potential RV facilities, policies, and the overall suitability of the environment for RV living. Given the serious safety concerns raised in one of the reviews, any potential RVer would need to exercise extreme caution and thoroughly assess the current conditions and management practices before considering a stay.
As a mobile home park, Rocky Ridge likely provides basic infrastructure such as roads and utility connections for its residents. However, the negative review suggests potential issues with the maintenance and safety of these utilities within individual homes. Information about communal amenities or the overall environment of the park (beyond the mention of past drug issues and current low-income status) is limited. The fact that one reviewer noted ongoing cleanup efforts suggests that the physical appearance of the park might be improving, but this needs to be balanced against the severe safety allegations made by the other reviewer.
In summary, based on the available information:
- Ongoing Improvements: Reportedly undergoing cleanup and changes in ownership.
- Low Income Housing: Identified as a place for low-income residents.
- Past Issues: Historically had problems with drugs and rundown homes.
However, significant concerns have been raised:
- Persistent Drug Issues: Still reported to have some drug activity.
- Severe Safety Concerns: Allegations of unsafe living conditions, including electrical hazards and a near-fatal fire.
- Questionable Maintenance: Accusations that the owner does not adequately address maintenance issues with professional help.
- Poor Property Condition: Described by one reviewer as "trashed" and "looked horribly."
For local individuals and RVers in the Thomasville, NC area, Rocky Ridge Mobile Home Park presents a highly cautionary picture based on the available reviews. While there are mentions of ongoing improvements, the serious allegations of unsafe living conditions and neglect cannot be ignored. For those specifically seeking RV parks, there is no information to confirm if Rocky Ridge accommodates RVs. If it does, potential RVers should be extremely diligent in investigating the current safety standards and management practices before considering a stay. Contacting the park directly at (336) 472-6540 or +1 336-472-6540 is essential for anyone considering this location, with a strong recommendation to proceed with extreme caution and seek verifiable information about the current living conditions and safety measures in place.
