Rush Creek RV Camp Introduce
For local RV owners seeking "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Rush, Kentucky, Rush Creek RV Camp, located at 16537 Trace Rd, Rush, KY 41168, USA, presents itself as an option offering full hookups. With contact numbers (305) 308-2764 and +1 305-308-2764 provided, it suggests accessibility for inquiries and reservations. However, recent customer reviews offer a candid look at the current state of the RV park, providing valuable insights for potential visitors.
One of the frequently mentioned positives of Rush Creek RV Camp is that it does indeed offer full hookups for recreational vehicles. This includes water, sewer, and electric connections at each site, which is a significant convenience for RV travelers looking for a comfortable and self-sufficient stay. The availability of full hookups can be a major draw for those who prefer the ease and functionality they provide.
However, the placement of these utilities has been a point of concern for some visitors. Multiple reviews highlight that the water, sewer, and electric connections are located on the "wrong side" of the RV. This unconventional placement means that when exiting the RV, guests may find themselves needing to navigate around or even potentially trip over the utility connections. Furthermore, to hook up their RV, users have reported that the necessary hoses and cables must cross underneath the RV itself, which could pose logistical challenges and potential wear and tear on equipment.
The ground surface of the campsites has also been a subject of feedback. While one review mentions parking on approximately 3-inch rock, it also notes that the surrounding areas are primarily dirt. This composition can lead to muddy conditions during and after rainfall, which was the experience of at least one recent visitor. The transition from the rocky parking area to the dirt surroundings, especially when wet, could impact the overall cleanliness and ease of movement around the campsite. A suggestion was made by a reviewer for the owner to invest in smaller gravel for the non-parking areas, which could significantly improve the ground conditions and reduce mud.
One potential advantage of Rush Creek RV Camp is its proximity to an off-road park and restaurants. This location could be appealing to those interested in off-roading activities and the convenience of nearby dining options. However, it is crucial to note a significant issue raised by a visitor regarding access to the off-road park. According to a review from Memorial Day weekend, guests were informed of access to Rush Off-Road Park but were not told that driving side-by-sides on the road to get there is reportedly illegal, regardless of whether the vehicle is licensed. The reviewer recounted an experience of being closely watched by law enforcement and subsequently informed that they could face a ticket or impoundment for attempting to drive their side-by-side to the park. The review further stated that a law enforcement officer had spoken to the owner of the RV park about this being "false advertisement." Potential guests who are interested in accessing the off-road park with their side-by-sides should be aware of this reported issue and verify the current regulations and permitted modes of transportation to the park.
Another aspect of the campsite conditions mentioned in the reviews pertains to the upkeep of the grounds. One visitor who rented a "private" site expressed disappointment with its condition, stating that the grass was overgrown through the stone to the point of being barely visible. They felt that for the price paid, the site should have been maintained to the same standard as other sites in the park. This suggests a potential inconsistency in the maintenance and appearance of different campsites within Rush Creek RV Camp.
In addition to the ground conditions, one reviewer suggested that having more grass and regular mowing of the existing grass would be very accommodating and improve the overall aesthetic of the park. The current state, as described, led at least one visitor to state that they would likely not stay there again and would prefer to drive farther to find a more satisfactory option. This feedback underscores the importance of addressing the concerns raised regarding site maintenance and infrastructure.
Based on the available review information, Rush Creek RV Camp offers the basic necessity of full hookups for RVs. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported issues concerning the placement of utilities, the ground conditions (particularly the presence of dirt and potential for mud), and the reported misinformation regarding legal access to the nearby off-road park with side-by-sides. The maintenance of individual campsites may also vary.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Rush Creek RV Camp in the provided data. Therefore, potential local users considering this "RV park near me" should primarily rely on the firsthand experiences shared in the reviews to form their expectations. The feedback suggests that while the park has the fundamental amenity of full hookups and a potentially convenient location near attractions, there are areas that could benefit from improvement, such as utility placement, ground surfacing, and consistent site maintenance. It would be prudent for interested individuals to contact the RV park directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about the current conditions, any recent improvements, and the accuracy of information regarding off-road park access.
In conclusion, Rush Creek RV Camp offers full hookups for RVs and is located near an off-road park and restaurants, which could be appealing to some. However, potential local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider the reported drawbacks, including the inconvenient placement of utilities, the potential for muddy campsite conditions, and the critical information regarding access to the off-road park with side-by-sides. The feedback from previous visitors suggests that while the park has potential, addressing the noted issues related to infrastructure and maintenance would significantly enhance the guest experience. It is recommended to seek updated information from the park management before making a reservation to ensure it meets your specific needs and expectations.

Rush Creek RV Camp Reviews
This little park could be great, but it’s not! On the plus side it is full hook ups. BUT, the water, sewer, and electric are located on the wrong side of the RV. Walk out the door and trip over the utilities! In order to hook up everything has to cross over UNDER the RV. You park on 3” rock, but every thing else is dirt, and in our case when it rains it’s MUD! Close to the off-road park and restaurants is a plus. With a little investment in smaller gravel this could be a great place to stay! Hopefully the owner will invest in some smaller gravel and rearrange the parking so the utilities are located on the correct side. More grass would be very accommodating and mow what grass is there regularly. As is I probably would not stay there again, I would drive farther. I suggest you spend some money and make this a great little park!
Apr 24, 2023 · Pete MoffettWe were there Memorial Day wknd , we were told there was access to rush off road park, but what they don’t tell you is that it’s illegal to drive your side-by-side on the road licensed or not. You can get a ticket or impounded . The second day we were closely watched and before we even left the cops were called on us. He was very friendly explaining and we appreciate that. If you plan to attempt the drive to rush BEWARE what could happen. The officer has even talked to the guy that owns the place saying it’s false advertisement. Now about the campsite. Full hook ups was nice. we rented the “private” site and it was less to be desired. The grass was all grown up through the stone you could barely see, the amount of money you pay for the weekend the site should look like all the other sites not worse.
May 27, 2024 · Jaime LoudenslagerInternet did not work to make phone calls or text. It is NOT accessible to Rush off-road. You have to drive 1.5 miles on the road and sxs are NOT legible on the road in the state of KY(although we were told by the host that as long as we had tags and insurance on it we would be fine) the Boyd county sheriff's Dept kindly had a 30 min discussion with us at our campsite that they are in no way shape or form legal on the road. He had had 15 calls from the neighbors that morning. We were not running fast, no music on etc the day before, we were not being disrespect to the neighborhood in any way. Save your self the time and rent from Krazy lady Kabins or stay on site at Rush. Not only will the sheriff's Dept write you a ticket they can impound your vehicle.
May 26, 2024 · Kimberly HicksNo access to Rush Off Road Park. Clean, nice little RV park. WiFi does not work, 8 of us all tried it, nothing. No cellphone service unless you find just the right spot, and it's very, very limited. But don't think you're gonna park there and ride to Rush Off Road Park. There is no access, and riding on the road 5 miles to get there, is 100% illegal with no exceptions. Local sheriff stopped by, informed us that under no circumstances were we to be riding on the road, and it's no doubt a ticket, and depending on the demeanor of the officer possible impound, with civil forfeiture of your vehicle. It seems a local dispute, over this property, has made every neighbor in a 10 mile radius, INSTANTLY, call the cops when you even walk toward your SXS.Park is clean, quiet, and everything works other than 30 amp electric is it, there's a separate 20 amp plug along with the 30 amp RV outlet, but they are tied together and you'll trip the main breaker if you try to run an electric skillet or something and your air conditioning in the RV. Sewer works fine, water works fine.Like I said, it's clean, quiet, and nice.Park would be 5+ stars if the access to the ride park was figured out, and the Wi-Fi worked.
May 26, 2024 · Leslie HicksNo access to rush off road despite advertising they are. All the neighbors keep watch and called cops 15 times on us before we even left campground. Had sheriff show up the second they heard us start our motors. We were told since we had tags and insurance we would be fine and that was a complete lie. We could have been fined big time had we been caught on road. Says wi fi but site to connect to never even showed up. Do your research if you want to ride rush creek. This rv site is not the one to chose if so.
