RV Park at Rising Star Casino Introduce
For local RV owners and travelers searching within the "rv parks near me" category in the Rising Sun, Indiana area, the RV Park at Rising Star Casino, located at 777 Rising Star Dr, Rising Sun, IN 47040, USA, presents a relatively new and modern option with a range of amenities. While the primary attraction might be its proximity to the Rising Star Casino, the RV park itself offers several features that could appeal to those seeking a comfortable and convenient stay. However, it's important to consider some of the drawbacks highlighted by recent visitors to make an informed decision.
The environment of the RV Park at Rising Star Casino is generally well-regarded. It's described as "very well kept and relatively new," suggesting a clean and modern infrastructure. The sites themselves are of an "average size," which should accommodate most RVs comfortably. Many sites feature a concrete pad for parking, with gravel next to it and some grass, providing a stable and relatively clean surface. The park is also "completely fenced" with a security gate, offering an added sense of security for both you and your belongings. While shade is limited, it's advisable to request a shaded site when booking if this is a priority for you.
In terms of services and features, the RV Park at Rising Star Casino offers a comprehensive set of amenities for a comfortable stay:
- Full Hookup Sites: Each site is equipped with water hookup, sewer hookup, and 50/30/20 amp electrical service, catering to the needs of various RV types.
- Cable TV: Available at each site for entertainment.
- Wi-Fi: While one reviewer noted the Wi-Fi as "mediocre," its availability is still a convenience for staying connected.
- Clean Facilities: The showers and laundry room are described as "nice" and "clean," essential for longer stays.
- Trash Pickup: While one review mentioned discrepancies with the paperwork, the standard procedure seems to be placing garbage at the road each morning for pickup. However, another review indicated the presence of a dumpster, so it's best to clarify the current trash disposal method upon check-in.
- Dog Park: A dedicated area for your furry companions to exercise.
- Access to Casino Amenities (with restrictions): Upon check-in, you may gain access to the casino's pool, gym (with older equipment), and business office.
- Nearby Conveniences: Dollar General and IGA grocery stores are conveniently located across the street with gate access, making it easy to stock up on supplies.
However, there are some significant drawbacks to consider, primarily related to customer service and the overall experience beyond the RV park itself:
- No Casino Shuttle: A major inconvenience is the lack of a shuttle service between the RV park and the casino. The walk across the blacktop, especially in hot weather (one reviewer mentioned 100°F), is described as unpleasant. Furthermore, attempts to request a ride reportedly resulted in "rude and careless" service.
- Casino Quality: Reviews of the Rising Star Casino itself are not favorable. The slot machines are described as "VERY VERY tight" and "very old," with a lack of new game titles. The food at the casino is also rated as "mediocre" with limited variety.
- Issues with Other RVers: Multiple reviews highlight problems caused by inconsiderate fellow campers, particularly regarding pet waste in the dog park and throughout the grounds. One specific long-term guest with multiple unfriendly dogs is mentioned as significantly impacting the enjoyment of the dog park for others and posing a potential safety concern.
- Inaccurate Paperwork: Discrepancies were noted regarding trash pickup in the park's paperwork, leading to confusion among guests.
Despite these issues, the RV park itself is often rated highly for its physical attributes and amenities. One reviewer explicitly stated, "RV Park is actually 5 stars," but deducted stars due to poor customer service related to the casino shuttle. Another mentioned it "would be a 5 star review if rvers cleaned up after themselves," indicating that the park's potential is sometimes undermined by the behavior of some guests.
For local users seeking "rv parks near me," the RV Park at Rising Star Casino offers modern facilities and convenient hookups. Its proximity to basic shopping at Dollar General and IGA is a definite plus. The inclusion of a laundry room, clean showers, and a dog park adds to its appeal for both short and longer stays. The fenced perimeter with a security gate provides peace of mind.
However, the lack of a shuttle to the casino is a significant drawback if you plan to frequent the gaming or dining facilities there. The negative reviews of the casino itself might also deter some visitors. Furthermore, the reported issues with some inconsiderate pet owners and the potential for noise or disturbances could impact your stay. It's important to be aware that while the park provides dog poo bag stations, adherence to their use seems to be inconsistent among some guests.
There is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying at the RV Park at Rising Star Casino should contact them directly at (800) 472-6311 or +1 800-472-6311 to inquire about current rates, availability, and any special offers for local residents. It would also be wise to ask for clarification on the trash pickup procedures and any current guidelines regarding pet etiquette within the park.
In conclusion, the RV Park at Rising Star Casino offers a modern and well-equipped base for exploring the Rising Sun, Indiana area. Its full hookups, concrete pads, laundry facilities, and dog park are significant advantages. The nearby shopping is also convenient. However, the lack of a casino shuttle, negative reviews of the casino itself, and potential issues with other guests (particularly regarding pet waste and dog behavior) are important factors to consider. If your primary interest is a comfortable and secure RV park with essential amenities, and you are less concerned about frequenting the casino or can manage transportation independently, then the RV Park at Rising Star Casino could be a suitable option for your "rv parks near me" search. Just be prepared for potential inconveniences related to the casino access and the behavior of some fellow campers.

RV Park at Rising Star Casino Reviews
The good: The RV park itself is very well kept and relatively new. Sites are average size. Very quiet here this week. Very clean. Very modern. Nice showers and laundry room. The sites feature a concrete pad to park on, water hook up, sewer hook up, 50 30 20 amp service, and cable. The WiFi mediocre. You put your garbage to the road every morning for pick up. Dollar General and IGA are located across the street and there is a gate to access them. The bad: There is no shuttle going back and forth from the casino to the RV park. Walking across the blacktop in 100° weather is not pleasant. When you call to ask for a ride, they are rude and careless. The machines are VERY VERY tight here. The machines are also very old. Not many, if any, new game titles at all. The food at the Casino is also mediocre and variety/choice is scarce.SUMMARY: RV Park is actually 5 stars. But they lose 2 stars because of poor customer service.
Jul 27, 2022 · Jason BelangerThis would be a 5 star review if rvers cleaned up after themselves. Since they don’t it hurts the parks rating. The sites themselves are very nice full hookup sites, concrete with gravel next to it and some grass. There’s a laundry, bathrooms and a dog park. The park is completely fenced as well with a security gate which is nice. There’s not much else out here except for the casino and a few small restaurants and a small IGA. There are more restaurants and things in Aurora and Lawrenceburg. The casino is right on the river so you could probably kayak or paddle board here. There’s not much shade, if you want shade ask for it when you book. The paperwork says that the casino picks up trash daily. They do not. There is a dumpster. I suggest they update their paperwork because when everyone comes they put their trash out the first morning, it never gets picked up. If you ask at check in you get access to the pool, gym( old equipment, but will suffice) and the business office. The issues are all with other rvers. Dog poo doesn’t pick itself up! The park provides several dog poo bag stations people to learn to use them. The dog park is nice, but there’s dog poo everywhere. There is one guy there with three huskies and he’s been there a while. They aren’t friendly and he warns you which is nice. Except he’s in the park with the 15-20 minutes at a time and no one else can use the dog park because his dogs act like a pack of wolves and by his own admission are dangerous to other dogs. He does this 5-6 times a day. He sits there on the phone the entire time and then before he leaves he wanders around pretending to look for poo and maybe picks up one bag if he finds it. He pays no attention to the dogs and if you walk by the dogs run at the fence and snarl and bark. If he paid attention he would know where they poo’d and there wouldn’t be piles of poo everywhere. He also has very little control over them and it’s dangerous whenever he walks them to and from the park. There were other dogs at a site next to the dog park and he had trouble dragging his three into the park. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Hopefully he’s a one time visitor who is leaving soon.

Sep 23, 2023 · Jody MartinNice park for a great price. Facilities are all brand new, concrete pads, new laundry, nicely maintained landscaping and breakfast is included. Even if you aren't a gambler it is a cheap place to stay for a few nights.
